I didn't mean to imply that moving the discussion from one thread to another was the cause of the exodus. I was just trying to trace the discussion flow. I was not involved in the discussion, didn't read things until after the fact. Just trying to piece together what prompted folks to suddenly leave. But I saw nothing out of the ordinary in the post themselves, so something else must have been a trigger. Or maybe there was just some unhappiness with some members that had been building over time, so once some decided to leave, others followed. I did the same as you yesterday, trying to retrace and I came to the same conclusion. I think your last sentence is what I am thinking has occurred. Plus, I think with much of the latest BaTB news circulating on Twitter, and many use Twitter, it makes some sense just to utilize that medium. I don't know for sure,..... just speculating. I like the "fan Forum" format but maybe it is too time consuming? Facebook or Twitter are not my cup of tea. I surprisingly was drawn to the SEO forum and have no desire to go elsewhere. If our DEN should be concluded I will simply leave with cherished and fond memories of this experience.

I would like to share with you a little story that happened to me here, at the end of the first season One day I post in this forum a commentary, I never thought it was going to be taken that way, much less, misunderstood I just said what I felt, do not use offensive words against anyone..but the surprise was, that someone took it very badly and made me feel bad, awful I did not want to post nothing in that moment because that person changed what I said, I wanted to leave the forum. But I thought.. I do not write good English is not my native language I have trouble attempt to interpret what I mean I thought that maybe I misspelled.. So let time pass quietly reading the comments and thinking this is a forum with rules to be respected, but above all ''free to express'' what you feel about the show and episodes. I have to respect what others do not like and like, being polite, apologize if anyone misunderstood, but never let the forum for what other say, you can instead show the positive points that you see to others, if you can not.. ''Next'' People!!! So many good moments and share that none of that can be removed because of what someone said or meant,, is greatest good things that bad. If people feel that no longer make any sense to enter and post, because depresses you the previous reading, is uncomfortable to stay because someone offended you, or because you disagree with someone and never reached in agreement ; then it is time to go (I feel you did not give a chance, someone expressed their reasons to leave, others do not (they have a right to do what they did ) Right?? I am very saddened by the lost, truly lost of wonderful people with such passion about the show that always motivated the fan .. may not know the real reasons for the massive outflow of people. what I know is for sure that the show has an end, and so the forum.. but life has changes.. ups and downs. But while Me.. enjoy it and I will do as much as I can like a Beast Note: preparing for PCA2016

And like I said before there has been times where I wasn't in favor or liked what was being said about the episode & certain things, and I respected everyone's right to say whatever they wanted to feel or say, I chose to just back away for a few days, sometimes a few weeks or a few months. It's sad it's come to this. What generally stinks is how personal people take other people's opinions & posts, because that's the underlying issue. Bc when people do that they feel like its them being attacked not their opinion, and then in turn when they reply to a post, they are just defending their own opinion, but sometimes they come on so strongly in hopes to "change others mind" that their tone & attitude of their replies are taking harshly as fighting back & it just opens up a whole new can of worms and start more issues. That's why I always try to respect everyone's opinions & bow out for a bit if it gets to much, and when I state my opinions, I always use "I think, or I feel, imo," so I don't just assume that the whole fandom is thinking & agreeing with what I see & feel. I thinking using those words instead of right off the bat saying "First off, everybody, Well, etc," because that already gives off to others the wrong vibe before really even have started to write ur post. It's hard to read the vibe & tone of posts that are written even if they meant nothing by it, bc we can't hear the tone. Such a shame

Just too many too read as to what happened but I see that there was some misunderstanding? some feelings hurt? most valued members left? I don't get it, are we that too sensitive now? I love reading all comments positive or negative, I'll sure will missed those who posts/comments on episodes, pics, videos and all. I love BATB S3 so far, not spectacular but I enjoyed it. Hope all Beasties/fans can unite and show support and love for the show wherever they are. Life is too short to be moping around, and be upset, it is what it is. I'm here to continue reading all the interesting views, I'm grateful I discover this board.

Yeah, I think it was the pages you moved from the 3x07 Early Canadian thread to the Everything #2 thread starting at around the middle of page 12. But the exodus started with the 3x07 early discussion, which I guess became a discussion about S3. First ragulr25 said a goodbye in the 307 thread, which seem to open the flood gates for beasties going out the door, including Anapi, Laura, maybe others and now Yolie. This sudden behavior is not the beastie SEO fandom I've come to know. Seems like something deeper must have been going on. It's quite sad. I agree. One post said how some felt like their comments were being 'silenced' or there was some backlash for some not so positive comments. I really didn't see it, did you? I mean, we all have our likes and our dislikes of something in the episode but there was no major dispute that I could gather after going over dozens and dozens of previous posts. So when pippin moved the comments it seemed OK based on where the comments were going off topic to the episode specifically. Thought some were clarifying comments and thoughts. Again, I like all comments as long as they aren't personal attacks, sarcastic and disrespectful. I honestly don't know what happened. I am as confused and perplexed as you are. Oh come on, really? Half the members are going to leave this place over some posts that made them feel like they're being "silenced"? I would like to see and read those posts because I have searched for such or that could be taken as such but came up blank. Like where did this come from? I really did not see it. Maybe because we all percieve things differently but come on, this is a tv show. Sometimes things are just being taken way too personally on this board. My observation.

What's going on here? I am so confused about the leaving of so many beasties.
What have changed? Why do they leave? It must be a reason which I can't see in the first place but it must be something big. I have read here long time ago a post where someone say this board is so spezial because all members are respectful with eachother and everyone can post his thoughts. In other boards this is different and beasties are so powerful and that many other fans don't like us because of this. So maybe there is someone on this board or on social media who make members here think that this board is not the same as what? anymore. Please beasties don't let this happen to be devided! We need to stay powerful! I am so sad for the leaving.
I don't know if I could expres what I mean but in a foreigen language it is difficult, but I hope you understand what I try to say.

I'm not trying to throw anyone under the bus here. Leaving and having members come in and out of a fandom or forum is part of shows and fandom life. I wish for anyone to do what they need to do for their personal lives - that is most important...and to also do whatever they would like to do to enjoy the show in the way they find most fulfilling. I also understand that some people love Twitter and communicate with each other on it regularly, and my personal opinions of not preferring Twitter for myself are not meant to reflect on/be against anyone who loves Twitter.
Having said that, I don't know that any of this has anything to do with Twitter, because I have no idea why people are leaving, including 2 of our mods. Like I said, they didn't share that information with me, or Karen. Yolie mentioned some personal reasons she didn't want to get into so I certainly respect that. Yolie and Nelly both did countless amazing things for the support and endurance of this forum and this fandom overall, and I know we all appreciate that, probably more than we can say. The mod duties, the vids, art, comments, spoilers and everything else! We are truly grateful for the expansion of the show and forum with the help of their leadership, not to mention their personalities on the forum.
They and any Beasties are always welcome here, and I wish them the best, like I said, in any other fandom endeavors. Any support for Kristin, Jay, BATB, etc. is always a good thing!
Anyway, as to "what happened", again, those reasons were not shared with the rest of the moderating team, and again, I say this not to call them out, but to say: we don't know any secret info or scandal that we're not saying. We just don't know. The issues were not brought to us (to my knowledge), so I wouldn't have any idea where to begin working anything out. People have different preferences for rules and fandom styles - I'm not saying those are the reasons, I'm only saying it could be anything, and people are certainly entitled to their differences of opinion. But those shared thoughts would have all been discussed elsewhere, in private conversations and such, which is their business, of course.
But from our end (the remaining mod team that doesn't know the reasons), we have no idea what those grievances are. I may have missed something along the way - I certainly wouldn't put it past myself.
So, here are a few things to keep in mind as we move forward: You are all truly welcome here. Some may not agree with the rules of this board or the way we operate (examples: no character bashing, no telling people how to post, the way we do threads or move spoilers, etc.) <--Again, I am NOT implying those that left felt these things. I have no idea what they felt other than what they have posted in their goodbyes. Anyway, if you disagree with something, we have this thread, and of course, you can always PM the admins and mods and we can go from there. Any Beastie is welcome here any time. Those who left have our support elsewhere and are always welcome to come back here or be involved in various forms of BATB support, of course. They don't need our permission but they have our open arms, if I may borrow Vincent's line: "I know it sounds corny."
Finally, I would like to give another mod shout-out and thank you to our remaining mods: pippin & Andromeda03 as they take over extra responsibilities. Our moderating team, past and present, has always been a huge blessing to Karen and me in this endeavor. And another special thanks to Chymere & ·· K å t ··, who updated our beautiful forum!
Trust me when I say that Karen and I have seen enough (non-Beastie) fandom hatred to last 10 fandom lifetimes, so the last thing we want is to hurt anyone or cause any grief. We want you guys to be able to have fun and enjoy the show. Let's keep roaring!!
XO ~ Katie

Hello,
I'm just posting to thank Yolie, Nelly and all the members that have been part of this forum. Nelly helped a lot in the past with the art of our forum, beastie awards, Tumblr and Twitter. Yolie helped a lot with her posts and she helped us this year with the domain. Although I have different views about BATB, all of you have made SEO what it is now. Like Katie mentioned Nelly and Yolie never mentioned why they decided to leave. This happens in every forum some members leave and new members join. Sometimes people just need to move on. We cannot make them stay if they don't want to be here.
In regards to the rules, I can understand why some didn't like them but I can guarantee you why the rules are that way in our forum. I've seen how horrible it is when people bash real people and trust me - if you cannot handle what happened in this thread, you would have left the first day if you had seen what happens in other fandoms. I'm just mentioning this in case this is the reason why they decided to leave. I'm just assuming because I have no idea what the real reason is.
What happened in this thread in regard to some of the posts that started this discussion could have been avoided, but no one PMed us or reported the posts.
Anyways like Katie said the forum is still open for everyone. And thank you to our other mods and to the rest of our members. You continue to keep this forum alive.
Also, I know I don't post a lot but I just want to say that I'm really enjoying this season. IMO it's so much better than season 2.
Karen.

Same thing is happening on Twitter. It's maybe even worse there. WTF is going on with our Beastie fandom?! I just don't get it. So sad.

I don't know why they are letting other people make them feel like that. I went through the same thing. Katie and I used to live tweet when the episode aired in the U.S., but some fans got mad at us because we didn't agree with Cat sleeping with Vincent while she was still with Gabe. They got all mad like our opinion was the worst of the worst. That made me not ever tweet about my opinion of the show. However, Katie continued because she wasn't going to let some girls/women shut her up and I continue retweeting and reblogging. I just decided to stop caring. I was live tweeting to help support the show anyways. I don't share my opinion but I still support the show even though my opinion is so different than what this fandom wants. What I did in order to avoid those fans that treated us like crap was that I muted their tweets and I never have to see their tweets again. Annapi should just block them if they are bothering her that much. At the end I'm enjoying more this season than season 2. And since I stopped caring about those fans that think they have the right to tell you what to say or what to think, I feel better now watching the show. EDITED: Katie hasn't lived tweet because she's busy

I am quite literally going through the Stages of Grief in relation to the Mass Exodus of BATB fans. I just don't get what the world is coming to. I went into silent mode to figure out if it was worth posting at all anymore, especially if I was unintentionally making someone else feel unwelcome. And came to the conclusion that others have come to that still remain: I love BATB. I love discussing it. I love arguing about it. I love expressing my opinion and learning the opinions of others. I love it when you guys convince me to change my opinion. Of course, I love it even more when I think I was right in the first place. BUT ABOVE ALL ELSE, I love the many diverse opinions of all, whether I agree or not.
So I'm choosing to come back and post. But PLEASE understand my following DISCLAIMER:
I am a lawyer by profession. So that naturally means that I argue my point most passionately. BUT I love ALL opinions and thoughts whether I agree with them or not. But understand that I may TRY to persuade you to my way of thinking. BUT I respect that you agree to disagree with me and probably love you all the more for choosing to quarrel with me about my opinion. Because it means you are at least thinking about what I have said and are giving me your thoughts on the subject.
A lawyer must "zealously advocate" for their client and their position. That is ALL that I am trying to do. If I offend you, it is ENTIRELY UNINTENTIONAL. Please PLEASE let me know if I have accidentally stepped on toes so that I may apologize and better explain myself.
With the above said, work is INSANE right now. And there are multiple episodes that I want to comment on. Will try to get to them as I am able. Still LOVE the forum and am glad there are many left to discuss all things BATB-related!
