I'm just throwing it out there. Maybe the CW wants to see if we will actually go out and buy the episodes on ITunes and forums where they can see the individual episode purchases. It shows that someone has actually BOUGHT the episode and is not just watching it as part of some package or other. Helps make the show profitable. I have actually been purchasing many of the Season 2 episodes from ITunes just so it will show up for their statistics. Even though I plan to also purchase the DVD. (And I really DO enjoy just re-watching BATB episodes and seeing what I've missed or swooning over those special moments, although seemingly few and far between at points of Season 2.)
I had not purchased episodes 218, 219, 220, or 222 because I could just see them on the CW page. Now, I will go actually buy them to show the CW it means that much to me.
This actually worked for fans of "Nashville." The show chose to release multiple soundtracks on ITunes and stores right before they had to make the decision of whether or not to renew the show because it is very costly to make. The consumers (myself included as my Mom is the fan of this show, and she doesn't even know how to turn on a computer. But she wanted the network to know she'd buy those albums in hopes of keeping the show on the air) bought the albums, and at least one even landed in the top 5 of country albums. So based, in part, on the sales, the network chose to renew "Nashville" due to the fact that it was profitable on media.
BATB has to remain profitable for the network. I can't say enough about just going out and buying episodes and the DVD. It is not that much money to so my part to try to keep the show I love on the air.

Except the only problem I see is the majority of Beasties I think have purchased episodes on Itunes or Amazon as well as purchased the DVD Box set for S1 and preordered S2 already. And without "free" streaming abilities at places like CW and Hulu what reason is it gonna give 2 potentially new viewers to go out and buy the episodes? Especially bc they really know nothing about BATB?

Like I said, just a theory. And sadly, I don't think the CW is really trying for new viewers at this point. They want the zealous Beasties that they got. However, then why tick us off by taking away the episodes? At this point, any thoughts behind their reasoning are just speculations. It may be that they wait until there is an airdate and actual publicity of some kind will have to start before putting episode selections back up. Frankly, I am trying not to read too much into it as it actually seems quite ominous otherwise.
I haven't checked anything regarding the ratings threads for new CW shows. I figure it is still too early yet. I just wonder what will change when we actually HAVE a premiere date. I'm really hoping for something earlier than summer 2015.

That's what we want to know. If you try to get to the BATB Official CW site, they just want to show you trailers of new shows and "recommend" other shows. I have no idea why this is either.

I'm hoping it's a temporary thing to promote their new Fall line up and/or they haven't completely updated their website correctly.

FYI: Apparently Cwtv.com took down all their beauty & the beast episodes. But they decided to leave up the canceled shows like Tomorrow People, Star-Crossed & The Carrie Diaries. It better just be temporary . Beauty & the Beast was also taken down off of hulu.com I feel like the CW is literally trying to run this show into the ground Man, BATB not getting any love from CW I'm glad that they did renew for S3 but come on looks like they are promoting Jane crap in their rightnow, It was there this past weekend and I noticed the changed in the player it's big. If not for fans promoting this show, no one would really know this show exist. CW don't do no <edited> (is it ok to say that word?, i'm pissed also) to promote BATB. I can't even send an email to complain it kicks me out before I finish my complain letter.

I feel like they are publicizing it more than even Flash, which considering how well Arrow does, I thought that show (Flash) wouldve been like their golden child this season, that they dump all their promotion into. What I find weird is they obviously seem like they want the show to do well, yet they stick the show on Monday nights, where it probably wont do as well as somewhere else. Honestly imo, the show doesnt even look interesting or exciting to me. I am not too sure that the show is gonna do that well. It might do well for a few episodes, but I think the numbers will slowly dip. I cant stay yet if I think it will do well enough to get renewed tho.

They removed all video? Why? Austin Basis@austinbasis @jayfan88 it probably has to do with the DVD and licensing contracts...Why release a DVD for $39.99 when it's available free online, right?!

So maybe, just maybe BATB might come back earlier than expected? Cuz its just plain cruel to have 2 wait til March or later 4 the DVD to come out. I was literally just getting used to the idea of the DVD not coming out until atleast January

Anyone remember if the same happened last year? Or with other series? Austin is right, more or less. But I think that when someone wants to buy a series' DVD is not because they can't watch free online. IMO, is more sentimental than anything else, like when you buy a paper book when you've read its epub because you liked it so much that you need to own, touch, and know that whatever happens, it will always available for you to see it.
