Couldn't say it better myself. I second both of you. I loved both seasons but season two was much better for me. I anxiously waited every episode because of the story. In season one I just wanted to see Vincent and Catherine but this time I am actually interested in the story line. DITTO! DITTO! Season 1 was good but only the VinCat parts. I watched and my heart fluttered for them. But none of the scenes made me cry (tear up but not actually cry cry), none of the scenes made me want to rip my hair out, none of the scenes made me want to bang my head against the wall, none of the scenes made me truly and deeply ache for Catherine and Vincent, but you can guarantee I did all those listed during S2 and then some! That's the kind of reaction and emotions I want a show to evoke in me. Weird but true I only hope the remaining 6 and S3 are even more GGRRREEEAAATTTT!!!! *insert Vincent gif here* You explained it so well...

Well, for me, I liked season one a lot, but, I don't like season 2 at all. I agree with that other poster on here, about how disgusting this season 2 was/is and I have watched every episode too of season 2 (that has aired so far that is) . I have no interest in re watching any of the episodes of season 2. It was ruined for me, the moment Vincent pushed Cat on the roof in episode 2 or 3 (what ever episode that was). But I am stilling going to watch the remaining 6 episodes of season 2, and I will most likely watch season 3 as well. Even as disgusted as I am with season 2, so far, that is, I just don't know, if I could just walk away from this show either.
I have mixed feelings about the renewal, as I don't think this show even deserves a renewal for a season 3, based on the following factors regarding season 2.....the yucky storyline, inconsistencies, disgusting sex loveless triangles, the main leads treated each other terrible, inflicting character destruction (especially to the main leads) to their character, flip flopping to a new storyline to a new storyline without resolving the previous story lines, and let us not forget, this season what supposed to be about "Who am I" Which I didn't see play out for either main character. IMO, the final romantic love reunion between Cat and Vincent, felt rushed, unreal, and fake after everything that had happened to them and the way they treated each other. What happened to (which was very needed between Cat and Vincent) the long heart felt talk and apology and explanation between Vincent and Cat, before they confessed their love for each other, once again and did the deed in the final episode before the long Spring hiatus? Sorry, folks it felt like they were doing the deed, instead of making love. VinCat really need to have a long heartfelt talk between them, with explanations and apologies. At least that is what I would have like to have seen take place between them, to make their love for one another felt real. This season 2, was just a mess, all over the place and unnecessary story lines, that didn't do anything special or to advance the main characters in anyway. It was all pointless for me. There is so many other obstacles that they could have thrown at them, in their face without them being unfaithful, hurtful to one another, and without degrading their characters in the process. I find the story lines to be a total lack of creativity. Today, most tv show's story lines reflect today's society cultural secular accepted norms, which I find to be very perverted, for the most part. Older tv shows, had better moral and creative story lines and they even worked on and advance character development.
Back to the renewal season 3 decision, but at the same time, I don't want to see it get cancelled either, because I still feel somewhat hooked for watching the show. So, basically I have mixed feelings about this show. But I am don't want my posting to be confused with those who say this show is doomed based on hatred. It is not that at all, because I have watched every episode of BATB so far and I plan to still watch more, for now.

I am one of the people who actually enjoyed season 2. Like some of you said, Season 1 was good, but only for the romance part. The VinCat part. I LOVED it and it completely got me hooked. Their chemistry is unsurpassed. BUT season 2 was more. More heartache, more frustration, more emotions overall. And yes, even a better storyline. Fewer VinCat moments, I mean, the truly LOVE VinCat moments, yes, and yes, I missed that, but I am pretty sure we will see those again and again in the last six episodes of season2. Did BATB deserve it's renewal? YES! Why? Because the story isn't finished imho. Simple as that.

Not sure if this goes here but - How long did it take US Netflix to put BatB Season 1 on their menu? Anyway, we still cannot get it in Canada but thanks to a certain unblocker, I am able to watch it. However, to get to my main point and gripe - The 100 is already available to watch here in Canada and where is BatB?

I don't know how soon BATB season 1 was available but I believe the CW's deal with US Netflix is for shows to be available once the current season has completely aired. The 100 is already available on Netflix Canada because Warner Brothers sold the the show exclusively to Netflix Canada. There is and won't be a Canadian network showing The 100 unless Netflix Canada were to agree to it. Global probably made the same exclusive deal with CBS Studios when the bought Beauty and the Beast for their Showcase channel. Beauty might not be available on Netflix Canada until the Showcase deal expires and even then, Netflix Canada would have to pay CBS Studios for the rights to stream the show. And depending on how the numbers are in Canada, Netflix may or may not find that worth doing.

Interesting articles concerning recent developments at NetFlix. Netflix to Focus on Adding Exclusive, Highly-Rated Content, CFO Says"He also pointed out that every time Netflix announced a new deal, the company has seen an expansion in the hours of programming viewed. Wells added, though, the company is focused on both adding content and increasing its revenue margin. "Our intent is to continue to grow content but to also grow margin, so to grow content spend slightly slower than revenue," Wells said. "Look, we're committed to margin expansion…but we're also committed to making a great long term product. And if we think opportunistically something comes along or we get creative on some piece of content, we're willing to have margins be flat for two or three quarters and do something that's going to strengthen our content offering." He noted that this was Netflix's approach both in the U.S. and overseas but declined to reveal details about Netflix's plans for European expansion, saying that such information would be revealed over the next few weeks." You can read the entire article here: www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/netflix-focus-adding-highly-rated-705921What Television Will Look Like in 2025, According to NetflixNetflix has already proven that it’s possible to build a big business in television without advertisers. Subscription fees, it turns out, do the trick. That means that the proliferation of internet TV may be the final nail in the traditional commercial’s coffin. That would change the entire economics of the advertising industry over the next decade, Hunt explained. “The ad-free model seems to be very popular with consumers,” he said. “We have to imagine that the Geicos and the Wendys and the Chevys will have to find a different place to advertise their wares in 2025.” You can read the entire article here: www.wired.com/2014/05/neil-hunt/

Season 2 isn't over yet. We still haven't seen the last 6 episodes. I LOVED episode 16, and I am anxiously awaiting the last 6. true - i loved 16 too and i equally loved 15 - one of my favs and i really liked 1, 2, 3, 4,7, 8, 9 and 11- - yes not all of these were happy ones but it did not matter to me The funny thing is that it has not ever been about "happy" episodes for me, it is about great story lines, character development and the relationships between those characters, a great cast, amazing chemistry between cast members, etc. I want to be entertained, to feel the chemistry between the characters, and to find that the story unfolds in both a creative and an organic fashion. S2, much of the time, was the opposite of that for me. Instead of "feeling" it, I felt like I was being hit over the head with an anvil and literally battered by plot devices and relationships that were not believable, realistic, or creative. Instead of sitting on the edge of my seat, it was like being repeatedly pelted with bird poop. I mean for crying out loud, STOP telling me that this character likes that character and start showing me some freaking chemistry already. One of these things is contrived, and the other is organic. And if TPTB don't have the creativity and originality to find a way to make it "feel" organic, well then maybe a rewrite is in order. Some story lines, character, relationships, etc. just don't work. Period. And truth be told, I wish I felt even a fraction as much entertainment as others describe when talking about S2.

But I do have the dvd and I can watch it on Showcase (computer). I was hoping for it to be on Netflix Canada for more exposure of the series. I contacted Netflix.ca and they said we (in Canada were unable to subscribe to the US Netflix. I have subsequently discovered Hola unblocker which allows me to watch it
