At first I thought the case of the week was yet another lame cop case story line meant to mirror what VinCat are going through. Which it is. But upon re-watching the episode I'm beginning to wonder if there's actually more to it. There could actually be two "big bads" for VinCat to deal with. First there's whoever hired Albert the Accountant/Assassin to kill Vincent. But second, there's also the people who kidnapped Albert. At first I thought it was part of Albert's plan to get kidnapped. But upon re-watching this episode, Albert says he did not anticipate being kidnapped and he thanked Vincent for saving him, just as he was about to kill V. So who hired Albert and who's behind the kidnapping of Albert? They could be opposing forces, both after the Beast. Another fun little thing I noticed is the background music that's being played at that snobby private school where VinCat pose as prospective parents planning to enroll their future child. Did anyone else catch the music? It's the same music that's played during the S2 blooper reel when Jay is doing multiple takes (and cracking up) with KK at the bar scene from Ancestors. So, BeastieBoy, you watched it early. Good for you and glad you liked it.

anyway Vincent is right: now that CAt is working for the DHS, she doesn't need an excuse to work on beast cases... and before she was a cop so it was simplier for her to be out on field and check things about beasts, covered by Tess and Gabe. Poor Vincent is working in a hospital (I don't understand how it is already possible... didn't they find out strange things started when Dr Keller arrived?) where nobody knows about him and his "second work" ... plus it is not a 8-hours work where you can plan your free moments or a free-lance job like for JT where you can manage your own time... It 's different and more difficult... maybe he has to change his job, like medica doctor for spy :-)
Loved all Vincent's points about that private school... poor kids! stressed before they can even understand that word

Alrighty...so my review is going by the 1st watch! Firstly I have to say poor JT! It seems like he is going through some life crisis! Not sure what to do It was kinda entertaining to watch that those vloggers actually thought JT could be a beast though lol. Anyway, I wonder where the writers are going with this...:/ I hope they ain't getting the idea that JT will feel like his under 'Vincents shadow' :/ in a similar way that Pete felt with Clark on Smallville. I'm not too keen on that idea. I'm trying to make sense why he suddenly decided he doesn't want to be a professor anymore :/ And what purpose are the writers going to give him...hmm. I admit I kinda felt sorry for JT, I really wanted him to kick their a's lol but I know since there's a group of them, it's understandable that didn't happen. Vincent was really normal this episode lol. By that I mean, no beast make-up shown at all? Or barely? Unless I missed something...other than him being speedy & using his tracking ability. It's good to see he got it under control..on the other hand, I don't know why but I miss that :/ So odd lol! But I kinda like to see him beast but not in bad a mode or killer mode, but beast and fun bad a mode If that makes sense...I guess, I can't really compare it but the way Scott handles being a werewolf in Teen Wolf, maybe Vincent should be handled in somewhat a similar way. Well, I haven't watched Teen wolf lately but seeing Scott having it under control, at the same time looking bad a (well not as bad a as some werewolves but kinda bad a). I kinda liked how the conversation about children was covered this episode! Better than I expected! It was nice to see that they addressed the fact that the baby could be half beast...rather than it being dismissed & the writers decide, they are in love, let's just make a baby! lol. I would've thought Cat may have been more concerned about the fact, but it was a good start. And seeing Vincents reaction to the idea was a fun journey to watch...I seriously thought that when Cat told him, he wouldn't be so amused though! Anyway, I'm glad that worked out fairly well. The ending of the epi was interesting! I was kinda hoping for more fun banter between vincat, rather than the tense conversations...I think there's been too much of it lately! Not to mention the audience, hearing it a couple of times it's like...We know you are both busy & overwhelmed *sigh* I know they have a right to complain but you just kinda like to see them stop whinging & make-out haha...or at least some flirty, fun scene that lasts bit longer than a few seconds! Then seeing Cat climb near Vincents wound, then Vincent's eyes close, it kinda ruined the scene lol. Couldn't they have Cat nurse his wound or something else? lol

Couldn't they have Cat nurse his wound or something else? lol If you don't mind I will jump into your very nice review and just tack on a few of my thoughts, since you mentioned some of my own concerns: Not sure that I like JT as 'Man in Black'. I think he is such a good hacker, that he should continue all he can do via the bloggersphere and on his trusty computer and NOT risk his well-being by personal confrontations. The VinCat baby converstation was too important to be conducted on their way to an important meeting. Catherine should have brought it up much sooner and while they were alone. I could have done without her snide remark about Vincent not liking babies. The ending was stupid from the directing point of view. If the director had placed Vincent facing the other way around on the sofa, Catherine could have then climbed on top of him and squeezed herself between the back of the sofa and her husband and he could have cuddled her to his uninjured side. It is these little sloppy things that anger me sometimes.

I "like" JT not sure who is is anymore! very touching when he said to bloggers that he is nobady: he is not a beast, he is not superhuman, he is not an agent, he is not able to do something special without being kidnapped by a bunch of teenager. BATB doesn't show strong male charcters and, anyway JT is totally human, and a good kind of human so it is real that he could have probelm to find himself right now

I hope that this pregnancy scare isn't suddenly forgotten, especially in the next episode, it's an important thing for our characters and shouldn't be brushed over. I don't think that'll be the case what with the synopsis of 4x05 being very VinCat focused, but who knows.

I hate being spoiled, so I either need to watch early or completely stay away from social media. I'll probably be watching early from here on out, as I'm really looking forward to the next episode - 405.

Also noticed some interesting wardrobe changes given Cat's new job as DHS agent. She's wearing a dress and/or ladies suits. I guess DHS agents don't need to wrestle with bad guys as much compared to police detectives?
She also has a new watch, one with a white strap instead of the old watch with the green strap she's worn throughout S1, S2, S3 and up to 403. I also noticed that Tess got a new watch too when she became police captain in S3. In Tess's case, her old watch was very tom boyish and didn't match a police captain, so I could understand the change. But not sure why the change in Cat's case.
Also Cat now carry's a bag/purse as a DHS agent. Do DHS agents need to lug around more stuff?
As a side note, Cat's flannel PJ's have yet to make an appearance in S4.

I think the handbag in this episode was a an essential prop so Heather could find the pregnancy test. Not missing the pj at all

And even if it was not necessary to the plot, it was a wonderful view to see J's ABS again after long time ... and this gives credits to my thought: we will see Vincent in all his hotness this season but always in situation that are not lnked to a romantic moment Yey! Glad V still has his abs there. Really miss 'the abs' in S3. ;-)

Welcome Joyabeast!!!
And while I also try to resist being shallow, I freely admit that Jay's ABS are quite wonderful for the eyes to behold. And hey, they DO bring the Beast-thing home. You CAN believe that Beast Vincent can do superhuman tasks when you see those superhuman abs, baby!
From the sounds of things, it DOES sound like 404 is a build-up to 405. Maybe Vincent has a hidden injury behind the bullet wound that sends him into a coma. And Vincent probably DOES want a child with Cat by this point---we saw in "Date Night" that Vincent had begun to open up to the idea of a FUTURE with Cat by the end of the episode. Yet NOW, that future seems unattainable, and since VinCat are facing the real possibility of still yet OTHERS after them once again, the future must seem PARTICULARLY bleak for not only Catherine but JT as well, who just sounds lost.
So you have Vincent ending this episode probably feeling bad for Cat AND his best friend JT as well. Sets it up perfectly for a "It's A Wonderful Life"-style scenario.
But I will admit to one MAJOR disappointment with this whole JT thing: to me, the writers could have handled this MUCH better and on a much higher moral ground for JT. JT could have decided to give up the professor thing BECAUSE he realized his own research promoted beast experimentation/further research. And he couldn't live with the fact that new students were reading his past work on the area and striving to move forward in a Muirfield-like way. So you can have him quit on moral grounds, realizing that he can't live with what science may produce from his work.
(By the by, I am NOT buying the JT balking at moving in with Tess thing. JT was the one to adore Tess from afar, pursue her relentlessly, and then be angry when she got cold feet and seemingly didn't want to tell the others about their relationship. So NOW that he has her after all of that, we are supposed to believe that HE is the one with cold feet?)
Well, once again, it sounds like I will be the LAST person in American to actually SEE this episode on Thursday! But it sounds really good! Looking forward to it.
AND REALLY REALLY wanting to see the VinCat moments in this episode, PARTICULARLY the ones with talk about the possibility of little Vincent Jr. or future Vincenza.

I sometimes get confused now which one is the one I haven't seen because there is so much talk about episode 4x05. LOL. Oh well, I hope there is some good VinCat moments.
