Welcome Joyabeast!!! And while I also try to resist being shallow, I freely admit that Jay's ABS are quite wonderful for the eyes to behold. And hey, they DO bring the Beast-thing home. You CAN believe that Beast Vincent can do superhuman tasks when you see those superhuman abs, baby! From the sounds of things, it DOES sound like 404 is a build-up to 405. Maybe Vincent has a hidden injury behind the bullet wound that sends him into a coma. And Vincent probably DOES want a child with Cat by this point---we saw in "Date Night" that Vincent had begun to open up to the idea of a FUTURE with Cat by the end of the episode. Yet NOW, that future seems unattainable, and since VinCat are facing the real possibility of still yet OTHERS after them once again, the future must seem PARTICULARLY bleak for not only Catherine but JT as well, who just sounds lost. So you have Vincent ending this episode probably feeling bad for Cat AND his best friend JT as well. Sets it up perfectly for a "It's A Wonderful Life"-style scenario. But I will admit to one MAJOR disappointment with this whole JT thing: to me, the writers could have handled this MUCH better and on a much higher moral ground for JT. JT could have decided to give up the professor thing BECAUSE he realized his own research promoted beast experimentation/further research. And he couldn't live with the fact that new students were reading his past work on the area and striving to move forward in a Muirfield-like way. So you can have him quit on moral grounds, realizing that he can't live with what science may produce from his work. (By the by, I am NOT buying the JT balking at moving in with Tess thing. JT was the one to adore Tess from afar, pursue her relentlessly, and then be angry when she got cold feet and seemingly didn't want to tell the others about their relationship. So NOW that he has her after all of that, we are supposed to believe that HE is the one with cold feet?) Well, once again, it sounds like I will be the LAST person in American to actually SEE this episode on Thursday! But it sounds really good! Looking forward to it. AND REALLY REALLY wanting to see the VinCat moments in this episode, PARTICULARLY the ones with talk about the possibility of little Vincent Jr. or future Vincenza. I'll be interested to see if you still feel the same after actually watching this episode. I am actually enjoying JT's arc a lot more this season compared to his healing power arc of last season. For me, his story arc was too predictable in S3. JT seems lost at the moment. He knows being a professor wasn't for him and had the guts to make a career change. He knows he wants to have a higher purpose, but he doesn't know what it is yet. I have no idea where he goes from here and I'm quite curious to see what happens next.

Maybe I'm the only one here to see these kind of things in the two last seasons of BATB, but here is my thought that fit well with JT's arc in S4: when you are a JT type of guy (I mean phisically like him and an intelligent person) often you follow a job path that brings you to be some kind of professor or better an IT specialist (JT is very similar to the most part of my collegues at work). You are not seen as a person that can do spy stuff, action stuff etc.. and no one expect that, at least you could be a funny guy in addition (like our JT). JT feels that he is much more than that. And I can see a parallelism with Austin: I saw some things he did in the past and he has always had the role of the nerdy-goofy person/good friend of the leader, funny intelligent but not too smart. We can't say BATB is a great success in terms of viewer and popularity and I think actors are using the tv-show to show us (and hopefully to other show runners or movie director) what they are capable to do, in different roles to open their range of possibilities. You can see it in KK and JR too: KK has always done sci-fi stuff with martial art, but she is very good with commedy time and in showing deep feelings too; and when you are a JR type of guy, you are often seen as the hunk pretty face to cast in a sexy but lame role, but he is able to show us a great range of feelings and he is very good in comic stuff. And that is even my explanation about the sometimes "out-of-characters behaviour" they have

Happy Episode Thursday! So as you may have noticed I have gone ahead and moved the episode thread from the spoiler section and into the episode area. I know it's a little early, but with the possibility of me not being able to be here later this evening due to guests for dinner, I wanted to make sure everyone was set up for this evening. Happy viewing tonight everyone!

Awesome episode!! THis episode is strong and GOOD... have many issue to be discussed. I can wait to see every1 post and POV. love, love Vincat every second, even when they are discussing. They are such PERFECT, and I dont' know why Vincent look soooo in this episode (maybe the hair) and Cat so elegant. This performance of vincat make me fell overwhelmed, just as they felt in their married couple life. and worried about a baby in this time. just a can say excellent work JT in MIB Awesome.. never ceases to amaze me. You know... I'm going to watch #BATB again!!

- I've been a KK fan for a very long time, but I always thought her name was pronounced like "crook". But when she did the intro on the CW, she pronounced it like "crew-k". Glad I found out finally. - The Scooby Doo gang aspect of this show holds it back somehow. I mean Vincent is an ER Doctor with superpowers. How can you go wrong? But they should also let Cat do kip-ups on the rafters every so often. Hard to develop four character story-threads in a single episode (not counting Heather). - Ah, the old familiar coffee shop in the morning. Loved it! - Cat with the pregnancy scare, haven't we been there and done that? Although BeastieBoy makes a good point that we can see how Vincent has grown on this issue. However, my expectation is that the series will end with Vincent returned to normal and the way paved for their parenthood. - I was surprised that a guy could draw his gun from behind his back and still hit Vincent. Come on... seriously? - There used to be more satisfying action sequences. But now it's all Vincent blur-out sequences. At least tonight only half the conversations were breathless conversations repeating the same exposition. I say let the late-comers feel lost. Scroom. - The focus on Vincent's face at the end is a foreshadowing of next week's "dream sequence" theme (I'm guessing). Reminds us of the dream sequences Vincent had in S1 where sexual excitement caused him to "beast out" on Cat. Ah, good times. - I totally agree with @lena that Brad Kern has no sense of romance and true love. Boy, is he at home on the boring DC Comics network, the CW. I remember last year finding an article about his tenure on Charmed titled something like, "How Brad Kern Has Ruined This Show". Ah, good times. - Also appreciate alwayscrazedbatbfan 's idea that JT could have morally rejected cross-species gene experimentation. (Which seems like a no-brainer in the real world!) But, see the two previous paragraphs.

But, see the two previous paragraphs. Agreed on every point Bill. Although I've heard KK say her name before, so knew it was more like "crew-k". I do like that just before the show starts Kristin says "This is Kristin Kreuk, an all new Beauty and the Beast is next on the CW". They certainly didn't have that during S3. I wonder if they're using a pre-recording from S1/S2, I can't remember that far back. Or if she recorded it for this season.

Nick Roman's review: www.rickey.org/beauty-and-the-beast-review-somethings-gotta-give-addresses-the-baby-question/295800/Nick brings up a great point. The CW's preview for this ep really spoiled the twist that Albert was the assassin. Had I not watched the preview last week, I would have enjoyed that twist more. Same thing with 403's twist that Cat would be the one fighting instead of Vincent. The CW's preview totally spoiled that twist too! But the pics were all over twitter long before the preview. As the episode hasn't aired for me live yet in my time zone, I'm really on the fence now about whether to watch the 405 preview that will be on the end!

This episode is very interesting, because it deals with the issue of parenthood. Now Vincent and Cat are grown and they're at a new stage of their life. This is the second time, but in the first season they were many immature and their reaction was very different. However I'm disappoInted about the result of the test, and I hope that the issue will be resumed and developped at the end of the show. I think that it may be a point of arrival of this couple and It would be nice see their realization as family.
I like also the couple JT and Tess in this episode. I think that JT is an interesting and good character, because his qualities are very virtuous and admirable. He's very patient with Tess and always present for Vincent. Hope for a future development before the end of the show!

Here's the review from TV Empress. Her sarcasm is always funny to me. www.tvrepublik.com/2016/06/recap-batb-s4e4.html?spref=twI like reading Nick's reviews and TV Empress's recaps. For me, they kind of represent the two general camps that current BATB fans fall into. 1) Those that have come to terms with what the show has become and still enjoy it (Nick) 2) Those that are not as happy, want more of S1 feels, but hang in there as fans regardless (TV Empress) Upon watching the CW's airing of 404, I do feel that S4 is getting stronger now with each episode. Really can't wait for the next episode. And for the record, I resisted the strong temptation of watching 405's preview at the end of 404. I really want to be as spoiler free as possible for that one!

I really like TV Empress, too, especially her sarcasm where it is needed, since the writers are NOT logical so very often. She brings up the question of why does Catherine need another office? She could use her apartment or the Guild - JT has everything wired to the max already, so easy peasy. I think the writers are desperately finding ways to include Heather into the plot. Last week she was 'hired' to help VinCat, who - all of a sudden - are overwhelmed with being married, having jobs, paying bills, etc. However, it turns out that Heather is too stupid to help them, or too overwhelmed herself, or whatever, so THAT plotline went down the drain quickly. This week they give her the task of finding an office for Catherine - we shall see where that is going to go. I am still trying to wrap my brains around the fact that Catherine was able to pay for that fancy apartment on only her salary and now that they have two salaries, their rent check bounced. HUH?? The VinCat moments in this ep were great and I loved that a lot, but I have a few issues with the rest of the plot. Like the cliché that a woman is unable to have a good marriage with kids and a career and that once the kids are here, you and your partner grow distant. I think that is insulting to all the women out there who can manage just that. And for what? To have demon kids like that who cannot behave in a strange aparment for a few minutes and whose mother is 'overwhelmed' by her own offspring and has no idea how to handle them? She looks at the battle field the kids made out of the apartment and shugs her shoulders and says 'kids'. I did not find that funny, but I guess I am alone in that. As for the rest of the plot: so now we have two seperate organizations hunting Vincent. 1. somebody hired Albert to kill Vincent, but they did not tell him that he is a beast, just that he is dangerous 2. somebody else sent the goons to kidnap Albert to set a trap for Vincent. They KNOW that Vincent is a beast, because they counted on his tracking abilities to find Albert. Unclear if they were supposed to kill him or try to capture him. Both baddies knew about the meeting point, which is very strange, because only 4 people knew about that: Hill, Albert, Catherine and Vincent. So let us assume that VinCat did not leak the rendevous time and location and that Albert did not leak it either, then what are we to think? Mmmmm......

So let us assume that VinCat did not leak the rendevous time and location and that Albert did not leak it either, then what are we to think? Mmmmm...... Actually it was Heather's fault. Heather clicked "send" on the laptop, but she did not click on "confirm" which popped up after, she simply closed the laptop thinking she was done. It was also mentioned that Cat's DHS promotion actually came with a higher salary in 403. Back to 404, I have a hunch that Hill might not be just a good guy that's trying to help VinCat. Hill was the one who set VinCat up to meet Albert in the first place. Hill also sent Cat to infiltrate the fight club, which turned out to be a wild goose chase. So his motives are now suspicious to me. Hill might be either linked to a big bad that's within the government higher up, or perhaps he's being forced to leak info by someone who's now threatening his family or by some other means of coercion. Agree that the some of the plot lines are ludicrous at times (I'm looking at you Bootsy ), but I just go with the flow.
