Totally agree with kiki09, they don't seem to be "no longer interested" in the show Kristin in her recent interviews said she had so much fun, all of them say this is a terrific set and they're all hilarious together.... So really I don't see where that idea comes from. Yes we haven't gotten any recent interview of our star duo together, but this can be explained by different "technical" reasons. As Anna said, just from the bloopers we can tell they obviously always have fun together...all of them. So yeah maybe it's the writers who want to show a more reasonable and established relationship, maybe it could be that there had been too many "woo comments" from fans after S1 chemistry and this annoyed their significant other. I really have no idea, but I wouldn't say that there is a problem. For me there is no problem between them and there is no problem in season 3, I get the chemistry I've always loved in this show. Of course like you I hope for more full kisses and hot scenes....PRETTY PLEASE SOON!

Nothing to add and I am convince they are very happy (the whole cast and crew)to meet and to work together each time to judge with bloopers, interviews ... I think this is simply the logical routing of the story of VinCat, engagement, disagreements, routine... all things not particulary great to have something passionate for now and the way the writers have the idea to show in the more realistic way. I think Jay and Kristin tries to stick as closely to the idea that the writers want to get across, so their approach to their characters are different as each season elsewhere. I bet that S4 will still be again completely different and maybe the best one with a fulfilled love relationship . Now something says me it's going to get tougher ( I hope for) in the future episodes as soon as these "disagreements" of couple will be all solved. I mean they will not turn around this in the whole s13 episodes so which brings us to something more intense in the storyline and in the sentiments. For someone who had nothing to add

For someone who had nothing to add From someone else who has nothing else to add I also think JayKris remain good friends but the writing is very difference from S1 or S2 for that matter. They appear to be writing a more mature and settling couple, navigating an established relationship. But!!! I agree established is not dead toward the passion that we know is rooted within this relationship. So here's keeping the hope that things will heat up now and then soon. I do fear that S4 just might be our last so I am hoping for an increasingly passionate, secure and established DESTINY enlightened VinCat before we're through. PS: I am again rewatching S1 through S2 as I tend to do from time to time. They have set a standard for me when I crave romance, I just have to watch S1 over and over. I'm in deep because I never tire of viewing S1!

Even at its worst, I still love THIS SHOW more than any other one on television currently, period (and exclamation point!).
Again, it just wouldn't be realistic to me to have people act out the same type of passion from a S1 early scene as one from years later. Relationships change and evolve over time. And I don't think the passion is lacking by any means, it is just changed from one of not knowing the other person TO knowing the other person, almost better than one knows oneself.
Watching Jay and KK on my screen, I don't doubt for a minute the deep connection and love of VinCat. The will-they/won't-they tension is understandably gone. BUT I LOVE that. Now, there isn't any real doubt that they want to be together. We just now get to see them dealing with everyday situations. In Season 1, their time together was always LIMITED. Thus, the passion was immediate and the parting quick and inevitable (but oh so passionate--think "I don't ever want to leave this bed" from Insatiable).
Now, we get to see them actually LIVING, which won't be done 24/7 in a bed, no matter how much we might appreciate such a relationship. And when the bad guy element gets heightened, so will the passion. Because once again, the relationship itself will be actually threatened. Which mean they kiss like there is no tomorrow, becaues there might not be one.
I've just come to love these CHARACTERS so that I want to keep seeing them on my screen. I'll take them ANYWAY I can get them. Vincent and Catherine are such passion-driven people, which naturally means that they give everything to their professions, as well as their private lives. So I like seeing how that same PASSION can actually act as a barrier and a potential for future problems, even in their relationships.
I don't think anyone can deny that there are differences between the seasons. Different showrunners, writers, and "consultants" for each one. And as many have noted, no Sherri and Jennifer anymore. Makes a difference, certainly. The "stolen moments" were the drama for Season 1. Now, that has shifted by necessity.
And how high would the bar be raised if you had to top the previous passionate moment from episode to episode? And the drama would necessarily have to be ratcheted up as well to compensate. So they are trying here for a slow build and to address couple-related issues that VinCat naturally skipped due to their on-the-run status (off and on at least) for 2 seasons.
I like the aspect of the relationship currently being displayed on my screen. Would I love even more? YES. Do I EXPECT even more? Frankly, YES, which I think is still coming, as the drama and danger escalates.

Me too. <edited, references to future episodes.> I believe that the danger to our VinCat is about to escalate and I think the passion will escalate too as their very existance is threatened. I predict a very tender scene as they steal a 'moment' together, whilst on the run from something terrible.

When push comes to shove, whenever Vincent has been in danger, Catherine's priorities narrow and the truth becomes clear to her. Said truth being that being with Vincent is the ultimate priority in her life.
We saw this concept in Season 1 when she was willing to leave everything and disappear with him. Even as early as "Saturn Return," Catherine was obviously even then mulling over the possibility of disappearing with Vincent, as she saw the doctor and the girlfriend that was living under an assumed identity discuss that it was his right to decide whether or not to leave everything behind for his love. And by Season 1's end, Catherine had gotten fake id's, prepared to change her identity and leave everything behind for Vincent.
Season 2 saw Catherine again willing to leave everything for Vincent in 217 (and she actually went on the run with him by 218). And you saw how the reality of the situation amped up the passion considerably and focused Cat (and Vincent) on what was REALLY important to the both of them.
Still, the traumas of everything in Season 1 AND PARTICULARLY from Season 2 HAVE left their mark on VinCat. ADD that to all of Cat's previously unresolved issues on family and love--she NOW knows what Muirfield and involvement with that organization did to Bob Reynolds and Vanessa's relationship.
So everything that has happened has made Cat EXTRA SENSITIVE to threats against Vincent in Season 3. And talk of Marriage and all it entails has naturally brought up so many other issues for Cat as well, including family-related scars. Again, keeps VinCat from seeming as close as they have been in the past. YET, you still see how much they truly love each other in that NEITHER person has thought for a moment of breaking up or separating or needing time apart. They are COMMITTED to one another no matter what, and that has been obvious despite any setbacks. But for the first time, the couple are having to try to live the "normal life," which has never been possible before.
And Cat's instincts have been dead accurate as to how the threat still remained to Vincent. And Organizations intent on creating super-humans have ALWAYS resulted in people after VinCat. Which means that the passion will be amped up once again because as PAST SEASONS HAVE SHOWN, whenever the DIRECT THREAT comes to VinCat and choices HAVE to be made, they ALWAYS chose to be together, even at the expense of professions and their continued home in NY.
So early Season 3 has been about formulating the BASIS for the THREAT of this season. We needed the PLOT, which often comes at the sacrifice of the moments of passion. But is PAST is a predecessor for FUTURE, then we WILL be seeing the accelerated passion of VinCat the closer the THREAT comes to them. I am convinced that the really romantic and wonderful VinCat moments are to come this season, same as with previous Seasons as the threat became more dire.

My Beastie BFF, alwayscrazedbatbfan, I've missed posting with you! I have been so busy I've barely had time to check the forum but I just stopped tonight to check the forum before going to bed and here you are!!! I can only add how much I love what you have posted and you remember my mantra, although Rebecca's journal isn't being referenced within these recent episodes, I believe the journal is important to the revealing of Vincent and Catherine's true destiny. That destiny, in what I theorize, is a truly epic love, undying commitment and an unveiling revelation regarding their bond. I really hope we are not left hanging in regards to the journal and the gem. If this is being written and written well this will be a absolutely wonderful payoff for the Beastie Den and I cannot wait for each and every Thursday to see us getting closer to that reveal!
