If Cat ever call Vincent "Vince" I swear that I'll puke! Repeatedly! I sooooooooo wanted to die every time that dumb nurse - I refuse to say her name - called him that with that stupid face she did every time she called him like that! As if she was special because she could say a childhood nickname. It only proved how childish she was. The writers better not do that or I'll go balistic on them.

In a way, Vincent calling Catherine by her full name was more intimate than the way everyone calls her. That's my biggest issue with it, not the nickname per se. It's not exactly a problem, but I think the show would loose a romantic touch.

Last night's repeat of Basic Instinct I notice it was the first time he called 'Cat' ...But it was to JT..he didn't do so anymore until later in the season...I don't mind it when he calls her that with JT I just rather have him call her Catherine to her then Cat.

I caught that, too! Glad you mentioned it. I was surprised as I hadn't caught it the first few times I watched the epi.

I noticed that the first time I saw the ep. That's why it took me a while to notice that Vincent only refered to Cat as Catherine. I attributed it to Jay slipping a little, but the scene with JT was so good that they didn't want to take it out in the editing. He didn't called her like that once until after they got together, though.

Yeah usually he calls her Cat with JT I think the only time he actually called her Cat while talking to her specifically was in Date Night. .Am I right or did he call her Cat in another episode?

For as many times as I've watched these episodes you'd think I'd be able to shuffle through my memory bank and whip out an answer. But alas...I can't.

LOL I am going to answer my own question..I looked and the other episode he called her 'cat' was in Never Turn Back when He's in her apartment calling out for her and when he talks to Catherine on the phone while Gabe has her...When Gabe takes the phone back he says:""Cat..Cat" LOL!! So there we have it

^ Lol! Yes she did. Can someone please give me a time stamp of where Vincent calls her Cat in Never Turn Back? I completely missed it. When Gabe puts her on the phone. It's around 21 minutes. Ha should have checked first save me the trouble of looking at the eps lol

I have sat on this one for a while--and you can put me in front of the crazy line for does this bother you. YES IT DOES!! I certainly tweeted my objections to the writers and JR as soon as they started having Vincent call Catherine, Cat. I do not like it at all, my ears exploded every time I heard it--what a waste of a beautiful voice. Catherine is worthy of a beautiful sonnet. Cat is a Dr. Suess Book. Romeo did not call Juliet, Jules... and so on. For me epic romance and nicknames do not go together. Vincent and Catherine sound beautiful together, Vincent and Cat not so much. This is Beauty and the Beast not 90210 where little names between lovers probably worked fine (guessing, never watched it). For those of you that like the details. Playing With Fire (13:54) times on itunesVincent and JT in alley-Vincent refers to Catherine as Cat for the first time (30:08)Vincent calls JT and asks him to track down Cat Ok--I didn't like these but could have lived with it--he was not speaking to her directly. Date Night (39:35) Calls her Cat to her face for the first time by dumpster explaining why he took pill Never Turn Back (20:38)Calling out her name looking for her in her apt (21:05)Speaking to her via Gabe's phone I had read that JR had requested Vincent be the one character that always call her Catherine, not Cat. I thought that was a smart artistic choice. I wish I understood the artistic choice to change that direction. -He wants to be normal... They want to get the young twitter crowd that would call her Cat...I don't know. The ship has sailed, I am still a fan... but I don't think it is very poetic and I imagine I will never like it. jmo and now I will shut up on the subject.
