Oh my... I just realized I wrote 'him' instead of 'her'! So, Yolie are you making fun of me?

I personally Catherine's a very beautiful name, I hope Vincent sticks to it. I wonder if whenever Vincent called her Cat it was Jay slipping, maybe?

I agree with everyone. I do prefer when he calls her Catherine for all the reasons you have already mentioned. It is more intimate and romantic. (ROTFL Yolie) LOL If he starts calling her "Cat" nearly every episode, then I think we should protest. I say the writers clean up their act in season 2!

I actually didn't notice the pattern in name calling by Vincent to Catherine, it's pretty inconsistent what he calls her from time to time but I too prefer "Catherine" just cause it sounds so much more romantic especially in that husky voice of his.

That was the one thing about Alex, I really could not stand. The rest of the stuff didn't bother me, because it was so obvious that she was in the past and would never compare to Catherine in any way. She provided good angst and conversation for Vincent & Catherine though.

What a great thread, Thanks for asking the question Vincent Chandler!
I know Vincent said "Cat" a couple of times, but did he say her name to her face? I remember Vincent said "Cat" when talking to J.T. when they were looking around the alley and car when the Muirfield guy came to Catherine at the Precinct and died. And if he said "Cat" when he was demanding to see her to Gabe on the phone. But did he say "Cat" to her face? Just Curious.
IMO, I want him to just call her Catherine............but "Cat" is OK in crisis situations! And I too, love the way he says her name! Those are the little things that we LOVE about VinCat and I don't want them to mess with it. Just like I don't want to hear Catherine call him Vince or Vinnie or whatever............just "VINCENT"!

I'm sorry to disappoint you but he did say Cat to her face in Date Night. When they were talking in the alley and Vincent explains why he took the pill. If Catherine starts to call him Vince I'll just throw something at my tv.

Yep. Totally. This is how I feel too. If he calls her "Cat" to JT or Tess that doesn't bother me too much because that's what everyone calls her. Sometimes I just took it as in certain situations he doesn't want to stick out anymore than he already does as such an outsider. Like, when he pulls Tess from the water in the tunnels, she says "How did you?" and he said "Cat..." I think he called her "Cat" once to her face in that scene by the dumpster? But yeah, I want to hear "Catherine" more than "Cat from him, for sure.

Thanks for that! I didn't really mind this one cause it wasn't necessarily 'to her face' per se but yes, he needs to call her Catherine. To be quite honest, if she ever called him Vinny I would very well stop watching. It's that serious. Lol

To be quite honest, if she ever called him Vinny I would very well stop watching. It's that serious. Lol Maybe the writers are having him call her "Cat" on occasion because "Cat" is reserved for those who are closest to her; trusted friends and family. Sometimes nicknames are used only in certain circles. As Vincent gets closer to Catherine, he feels comfortable using her nickname. As I've posted before, it bothers me -- A LOT!!! I hope the writers realize that the person closest to our Beauty is Vincent and so "Catherine" should be reserved for him and him alone!!! I agree with you, kiki09, if Catherine starts calling him "Vince" or "Vinny" I'd be seriously ill!

Count me in with the Catherine crowd as well. I thought one of the writers tweeted that Jay suggested that Vincent always refer to Cat as Catherine and that one of the producers said that while he wouldn't necessarily be the only one to use her full name, he would be the only one to use it all the time so i was surprised when he started calling her Cat in the later episodes. I don't remember Cat every calling him anything but Vincent though.
