And another thought...there are a lot of BATB haters out there. They just seem to go out of their way to haunt forums (not here, thankfully) and comment sections. I'm not really sure why you'd go out of your way to talk about a show you don't like...but whatever. Thanks for the promotion. Each time some hater hates on BATB in a public forum, they are helping us to create buzz and interest. And, let's face it, a lot of these people either haven't seen the show or else they saw the pilot and stopped. Yet, they continue to hunt for positive BATB comments and negate them. Well, guess what? Websites and webzines want hits to their posts. Any kind of press is good for them. The more people comment on BATB articles (for any reason), the more posts and articles we will see. This will create more buzz and there will be some people who will "give in" and watch, just to see what everyone is talking about. I know that there are definitely more articles about BATB now than there ever used to be. Just my two cents worth....trying to stay positive.

The one very good and important factor this show has going for it is that it has low production costs. The reason The Secret Circle got cancelled even though it was getting good ratings for CW standards, it had very high production costs and the ratings weren't good enough for The CW to be making any real money off of it.
I read somewhere that the President of the CW already said that 90210 will likely be renewed again which is RIDICULOUS. If they let this show go and keep 90210 on I will boycott The CW even though I watch TVD lmao.
They should really give this show a second season and give it a chance to see if its fanbase enlarges more. I can't go through another cancelation, they did it to me with Ringer last year and didn't even give a proper finale it ended with a cliffhanger!
One more thing about the TVBTN article. I really don't think it matters that TVD is BaTB's lead- in, because what do people do when the show they are watching is over? THEY CHANGE THE CHANNEL, or go do something else. Unless people are already interested in the show coming on next they arent going to stick around to watch it. I already made the decision that I was going to give this show a try before it premiered, so the fact that TVD was it's lead in meant nothing to me because I was going to watch it anyway no matter what night it was on.

When did the exec say that 90210 will likely be renewed? Do you remember the article? If it was in the fall...well, the ratings have fallen so low as to be embarrassing at this point.

Thanks for the link. And two people??? I think you are being VERY generous with that, jeje... I think 90210 has tanked a sufficient amount that they may not be able to live up to that promise. Perhaps they were able to let the writers know now (unofficially, of course... ) so they could write a satisfactory end this season. I like what the article says about Nielsen ratings: "He [Pedowski] did take a shot at Nielsen though, remarking that “I think they missed the boat in 18-34,” not being able to capture a large portion of the viewing done by younger people on digital devices." It sounds as though Pedowski realizes that a lot of the people who watch the CW aren't just limiting themselves to watching what is on at any given moment. In this time of PVRs and online viewing, networks would be a bit short-sighted to not even look at those numbers. It's nice that it sounds like he is not willing to take Nielsen ratings as the be-all and end-all of things. I also like where he said that they were trying to appeal to viewers outside of the 18-34 demographic: "He has no problem with that, stressing that broadening out the CW audience has been a priority for the CW and is reflected in the network’s fourth quarter ratings where the CW was virtually flat in the core 18-34 demo and up in total viewers. " I think we have lots of Beasties who fall outside of this core demo.

And just a little evidence that the momentum looks good. Not only are the numbers up the last two weeks, look at the views on the New Topics page of this fan forum--they have more views 10K+ for the next episode and just a few less than that for Tough Love. Look at the jump in numbers of people reading the forum since they gave the fans what they wanted. I have a feeling the ratings are going to start reflecting that excitement. You have to realize a lot of people look at the forum and do not post. Huge jump in the views.

He said that before the show returned from winter break and it received a .3 and .2 demo and 660,000 and 550,000 viewers for its last two episodes. And hopefully giving fans a satisfactory conclusion won't necessarily mean a 13 or even 10 episode order like Gossip Girl. It could just be two episodes meant to air as a concluding "movie" to kick off the CW's fall season next year or to air during one of the other show's breaks. What's really frustrating about Nielsen ratings are that even if all 600,000 plus of Nicole Gale Anderson's twitter followers tuned in last Thursday, unless one of them was in a Nielsen household, it wouldn't make one difference in the reported ratings or DVR numbers. And if my math is correct, it would only take some 20 - 25 Nielsen viewers watching BATB to forget to check in at the 9:30 half hour or who can't watch that day to lower the number by 100,000. Is that right??

You know I have never cared what a shows rating was. If I liked it I watched and if not I didn't. then again I have never been obsessed with a show either. I have actually lost interest in some shows because of Beauty and the Beast. I started watching the Vampire diaries because I read the books as a teen and now it just does hold my interest like it did. Arrow is okay I watch it days after it airs but again it just does not hold the same appeal as Beauty and the Beast. I have been paying more attention to the ratings lately and I really hope they will give the show another season and more after that. I think this show is really starting to find itself and is heating up. i would really hate for it to be canceled. I have never payed this much attention to a show before where I am looking for anything Beauty and the beast related online. So I hope that CW continues with this show.

BATB needs to get on Twitter.
Look the ABC network shows have already told the fans that there will be some new promos tonite. You see what I mean. That's the sort of thing you do. You gotta talk to the fans.
Some of the Gladiators cast and fans will be live tweeting about the Oscars.

BATB fans need to take part in the campaign, at this point we can't depend on anyone else but ourselves to show CW that we want to this series to continue! sites.google.com/site/savebatb/

Well, if he is trying to appeal to viewers outside the 18 - 34 demo, he has succeeded. I am one of them! (I will NOT reveal just how much outside the demo I am, though!)

I agree with all of this. I saw something the other day about Psych having a "Psych Slumber Party" ACROSS various social media networks for a Psych Marathon to get everyone pumped about the new Season. It was a HUGE success. What do we get? The writers sometimes talking to us. The actors sometimes talking to us. (I understand that AB talks a lot to us, but what about Jay and KK? They sometimes do, but where are they during showtime?) I understand actors have to work, but it makes me wonder when OTHER show's actors are jumping on Twitter during shows or before or after to talk to fans and get them pumped up... where's that for us? Truthfully, I would love it if BATB ripped of the Psych-o Slumber Party Idea. For those that aren't a fan of Psych or didn't participate/know about this. Here is a press release published after the fact about it: tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2013/02/22/usas-psych-slumber-party-raises-the-bar-on-new-social-engagement-and-supercharges-on-air-ratings/170608/And here's the website where they have now published a cool note thanking fans for their participation and still have some of the stuff up from it. Really, seriously, check it out guys. It puts our shows social marketing efforts to shame: www.usanetwork.com/series/psych/features/slumberparty/home.htmlNow I know we had the Tweetpeat AND I know CW's never going to do a BATB marathon. BUT BATB could still do this. They could make a BATB Slumber Party. Start it at maybe 7pm EST and then run it through to midnight. And then just schedule certain stars from the show to be on at certain times to Tweet with fans. Or they share Behind the Scene pictures or videos on a site. The thing is knowing Beasties, we'd take over and do most of the work! Really all they'd have to do is participate with us and share some neat stuff. Oh and the writers should ERASE "What do you think?" from their vocabulary. Because SERIOUSLY how cool would a #BATBSlumberParty be? I'd say that fans could be this together, but part of the magic is having the stars involved. I have a feeling we'd get a "maybe" and blah, blah, we're filming and busy. It's like "MAKE TIME!" Again, it wouldn't even have to be live. How hard is it to quickly say a few words into a camera? How hard would it be to throw together a short blooper reel? And the thing with Psych's party is they had fans involved making graphics, submitting party ideas, recipes, and so on. Just things like this TPTB @ BATB should consider to boost ratings. These ideas, btw, shouldn't all be coming from the fans. Look at the fans are doing to save the show. What the heck are the writers and actors doing -- other than telling us to tune in.
BTW, I saw you guys referred to a previous post I did about Nielson. I read it and was like "I was annoyed at Nielson that day." haha. When am I not? The system is seriously outdated and flawed. It is funny that they are returning to monitor internet usage again. The first time was a failure because Nielson people were like "No, stay off my internet." I think the funniest gripe I heard was from someone that they wanted to give her an iPhone and instructed her THAT would be her permanent phone when she was in the program and to carry it with her always because it could hear TV signals and know what she was watching. How creepy is that? Uhhh then it can hear EVERYTHING you do or say. Not to mention they are monitoring your phone calls? Heck no. Obviously that system didn't work, so I'm curious as to what they are going to do NOW to monitor internet usuage on phones, tablets, and computers. Regarding the CW Press Release. I did see it. I'm glad they put out something positive about BATB and it was nice to see how we are increasing beyond what we see just from initial ratings. However, the up down stuff I think is a little off because that was when they thought we got the 0.6 this episode...wasn't it? I am curious to how much it will increase now that international Beasties can access CWTV.com... I like this idea! Yeah, the stars could do more as far as twitter interaction goes (Austin does pretty good, Brian tweets often, Nina is getting there, Max needs to get an account! lol)...I mean it's hard to judge as I'm not sure how their set schedule is really like with breaks, what not...been hearing Jay and Kristin have 12 hour plus days which is alot and I guess if it were me, once I start twitter, I would find it hard to stop! So maybe they don't tweet much to avoid that :/ or if anyone tweets bad, but I don't think they'd get much of that. Maybe annoying hackers though..And twitter in general can take awhile to warm up to on how it works, etc.. We did get that long Q and A session with the writers which helped alot with trending, cast did participate too- austin a bit, nina and brian though that wasn't really planned ahead and most of the time when people ask Austin whether anyone else can tweet during the show, he isn't too sure of the schedule..so, it seems unpredictable. Part of me also wonders whether they don't plan Q and As with the cast on purpose, because they know if they do the amount of Q and As would be much higher and alot more overwhelming... Austin did say more videos are coming up which is great though! And the batb nation website the writers started up was a good idea. Maybe when they stop filming in April, the cast will participate in the tweeting more assuming they'd have more time and hopefully something can be organised... It is interesting what you say about some stars tweeting during the show...Being Human US cast do it all the time (though not so much a Q and A, more just random tweeting about the show lol.). Not too long ago, TVD cast participated while on set though they didn't answer many questions...it seemed some of the cast were literally filming then.. Kristin and Jay have put the 1-2 tweet/s their show airs tonight which is good but yeah, I'd like to hear more from those 2. Jay did have a excuse apparently he was going to jump off a building last week but yeah wouldn't they be able to do a quick Q and A while there's the secondary storyline i.e. if there's an Evan/Austin scene or something? Well, I suppose they really need to learn their lines lol. Nicole A could probably tweet during the show sometimes, as she's not on screen as much. Even the guest stars could like the twilight guy coming in, and whoever the other guy was lol

Matter fact my daughter during the last show looked at me when they had Cats intervention and said mom this I am intervention. LOL Ok so a ?, I don't know much about ratings but want to help...is it by household or by TV, or by Cable box? Do I need to have all TV's on this channel or does it matter if just one??

Austin tweeted that Kristin works 5 12-15 hour days every week and I think Thursday is the day that they do their night shoots from something like 6:30pm - 6:30 am but I don't know why they don't try and have Nicole Anderson promote the show more to her 600,000 Twitter followers.
This last episode in particular, I don't know why she didn't tweet more about it since it was a big episode for her character and I think she did a good job. Although as I said earlier, Nielsen ratings are messed up because even if all of Anderson's followers tuned in last Thursday, nothing would have changed in the ratings if none of them were Nielsen households. Still if even half of them went online or bought the episode that would help and would be noticed by the CW.
