the batb writer tweeted this today
am I the only one who thinks this is a bit ridiculous? I don't want to hate on the writers but it's not like it's our fault the ratings went down, it's pretty much theirs if they write storylines that make people stop watching... that being said of course I hope we get all the viewers back we lost over the last few weeks.

Right On cassy09
They want to write what they wanna write.
I watch what I wanna watch.
It's not my problem if the rating are down. That's THEIR problem. They should have thought about all of that and a second season long ago. Now it's suddenly up to us. Yeah right!!!!
Nobody ask them to throw Alex into the mix.
Okay, they write their story the way they want too. Fine. I try to be pleasant and patient with them. I reframe from saying what I really want to say most of the time. It's their show. Their story. But don't come asking me for help now.
Ooooh my blood is boiling.

I am hopeful with this next episode we will be back on track, the ratings will pick up and viewers will come back for action, romance and a little comedy in the form of JT. I was excited to see we were in the top 10 of getglue, hopefully we can keep that momentum going and pick up in the ratings. I would love a 0.7 this week but would be happy with a kiss, a 0.6 and a dynamite trailer for the return in two weeks!! Looking to stay positive here.

Ines, summer, Milo, I agree with all of you. I'm kind of sick of the writers trying to shove their mistakes on us. I also want to point out that they had very few Nielson viewers; they knew this in plenty of time to retool the Alex S/L or scrap it all together. Not only did they not care, they seemed to enjoy how upset the S/L made people. When some people give up on a show, they don't come back that easily. We have a better chance of attracting new Nielson viewers then we do getting some of those viewers immediately back. All that being said, I hope that we at least get a 0.6 this week. This is from Deadline (talking about predictions for renewal on networks & pilots for next season): The CW also kept its orders in line with last year’s — eight pilots this year, including planted The Vampire Diaries spinoff The Originals, vs. six pilots and two presentations for 8 total last year. But the shift from contemporary soapy fare to more male/genre programming under the CW’s new president Mark Pedowitz continued, with not a single soap about privileged kids a la Gossip Girl and 90210 in sight. The influx of genre fare (The Originals, The Hundred, The Tomorrow People) is understandable as Vampire Diaries, Arrow and Supernatural are the CW’s three top-rated shows while 90210 is flat-lining — most recently drawing 500,000 viewers last night. Even the CW’s more romantic fare is high-concept: The Selection and the Mary Queen of Scots drama Reign. With The Originals likely to land on the schedule and TVD, Arrow and Supernatural already renewed, the network has solid building blocks for next season’s schedule. Of the rest, Hart Of Dixie‘s recent season high may have clinched it a renewal, with Beauty And The Beast also looking hopeful. The Carrie Diaries, whose most recent episode tied the series finale of cancelled Emily Owens MD, and Nikita, which recently perked up with a season high, are a toss-up. www.deadline.com/2013/02/pilot-season-2013-analysis-networks-increase-volume-after-lack-of-new-series/I think Deadline doesn't get how much of a shoo-in for renewal Nikita is based on the fact that: (a) it gives CW something to put on Fridays; and (b) the only way to make the show lucrative is to give it one last season to reach syndication numbers. I also think TCD is a goner, and they didn't even mention that Cult had yet to air....or mentioned Cult at all. Waiting on TCD's final numbers, but it got a 0.4 (so far) this week and based on the half hour overnight ratings I don't see it adjusting up, maybe down -- probably will keep the 0.4. My predictions so far holding steady... RENEWED: NIKITA, HOD & BATB CANCELLED: TCD, 90210 NO PREDICTION YET: CULT Interested to see how Cult does tonight. I'm thinking it will pull between 0.4-0.7. I'm leaning more towards the bottom of that range given how bad TCD aired...and the fact that the Cult pilot was already online, but I'm not sure. Cult could knock BATB out of its slot for renewal though...if it does well. I wasn't that impressed with the Pilot, but let's see what happens when others weigh in.

Thanks for the information Jacki ... I know we have a good cause here because the story has so much potential and the cast is beyond amazing ... just so frustrating when they throw us a curve ball like that and the ratings took a beating to reflect what we all knew was a mistake .... ... I think I see some positives coming in the next episode ... sure hope so!

In terms of Cult, gonna be honest, I love some of the actors....but I have no desire what so ever to watch it. At all. I'm not even bothering with the pilot. It looks...so...I don't even have a word for it at the moment.
And I'm not even just saying that because I want BatB to be renewed. In an alternate universe where Cult was the only new offering on the CW....I still wouldn't watch it. They would have to pay me (and a good sum at that) to watch it. And the same goes for The Carrie Diaries. I see any advertisements for either and I just tune out.

In an alternate universe where Cult was the only new offering on the CW....I still wouldn't watch it. That's exactly how I feel. I honestly have no idea what the series is about, every time I see a tv spot it just leads to more questions and none which makes me want to sit in front of a tv and get the answers to. It's a shame, but true...

Who wants another regular type of show..Beauty And The Beast is unique that it's a romance series with the backdrop of a cop show..That's the rarity of this show..There isn't any other out there like it! WE get drama, comedy and romance..what more do we need?

RE: Cult, as I said I watched the Pilot online. None of the advertisements or descriptions had me curious. I mainly watched though to see if I thought it had a good chance of survival. Here's why... taking a look at all the Pilot orders for next Season, they are going to want to take either BATB or Cult. I think with 90210, TCD, HOD - they were maybe hoping two would've survived out of that, but out of those, HOD is the one I would be shocked if it wasn't renewed. The fact that they currently have HOD and Cult paired, to me, says that they think HOD would do OK paired with a show that was different from it... Still have no urge to give the TCD pilot a chance, but I did (before it aired) read a breakdown of it and...yeah...not my cup of tea. I didn't think it would be though because I wasn't someone who watched Sex & the City. I recognized some of the actors on Cult, but I was not impressed with their acting in this. I do not think it as "complicated" and "hard-to-follow" as others say. I think the issue, that has been confirmed online but was definitely visible in the Pilot, is that the show had a ton of rewrites and retoolings and kinda doesn't know what it wants to be. Also there's a really stupid towards-the-end scene with a laptop, which is how our main hero gets dragged into the "Cult" underworld. Without giving too much away/being too spoiler-y, if you were searching for someone, and you had this disc that you THOUGHT could lead you to that missing person, and another person told you, "If you put that disc in your computer, the Cult will download all your information and they'll be coming for you." Wouldn't you just go to Best Buy and just run it on one of the laptops turned on and on display? Heck, go to Costco. They have their laptops out and turned on and NO ONE is around to bug you while you play around with them. He didn't need internet... so...wth? It didn't make sense. It was stupid, as was the Pilot, imo. But we'll see how Cult does rating-wise...I predict if it does well in Week 1, it may have a slight rebound at some point, but for the most part it will go down, down, down like TCD has been going. It does have a lot of potential, I agree. I wish the writers would focus on that and less on just messing up the VinCat romance. I don't want soap opera love. I want two people striving to be together admist this huge gov't conspiracy that has Vincent on the run/in hiding for his life. Plus, you've got Cat living this double-life because of her knowledge and involvement with Vincent. You've got the police force wanting to hunt down this vigilante. Muirfield closing in on Vincent's location. Please someone remind me why we needed 4 episodes of the dumbest character ever? No insult to the actress, she did the best she could with what was given to her, but Alex was such an unappealing character. I hope she's dead, but TPTB @ BATB have already stated in interviews that sh could be coming back... omg... please... no. You like BR? Use her on another show. Please no more Alex. Look at the ratings, people were not happy with the Alex S/L. And who can blame them? This show is not Hart of Dixie; we don't need tons of soap and love triangles. BATB should be two people falling in love & loving each other despite all odds and obstacles. I think the re-tooling with the gov't conspiracy was a good way to tell the story, especially on the CW. I think the re-re-tooling of making the Beast fall for another woman, even temporarily, WTF? And I know that they tried to slap a bandaid on it that Vincent was just being a nice guy at the end, but wth. If that was the case, 1 episode, maybe 2. No one wanted 4 episodes of it, and I'm disappointed that the writer's didn't realize that looking at the RATINGS before they even started filming. I was hoping they are paying more attention to the ratings now and how they can change them, but it seems like they are just blaming the fans...which is so silly because don't the BATB Writers realize that anyone who is following them on Twitter is already tuning in every Thursday?
Just wanted to update, I did a Google search to see how people liked Cult. Not good. These are some of the newer reviews... www.hollywoodreporter.com/bastard-machine/cws-cult-review-422558www.hitfix.com/the-fien-print/tv-review-the-cws-cult-is-yet-another-unsuccessfully-crazy-midseason-dramaHitFlix goes into details. THR just basically says it stinks. And I thought BATB got bad reviews...eek! These are bad.

BATB has suffered a 400k viewer drop..some of that may be Valentine's day and basketball or whatever...but c'mon. We know a part of that was due to the silly love triangle BS. Hopefully those viewers come back and hopefully the writers consider how fragile the show is right now. We need to keep all the viewers we have, not push them away. I just hope we can gain some of those viewers back. TCD had some awful ratings on Monday. Speaking of low ratings....HOD was down and the Cult debut was pretty terrible.... tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2013/02/20/tv-ratings-tuesday-ncis-down-but-wins-night-new-girl-smash-go-on-fall-cult-body-of-proof-debut-low/169957/ Hart Of Dixie 0.5/1 1.37 Cult - Series Premiere 0.3/1 0.94
