I thought the poor reporter, Grace, was doomed from the start. That's the only solution for someone who wants to tell the world your secret. But it's very reminiscent of Season 2, Gabe kills Cat's reporter friend, Beth, and throws suspicion on Vincent. Problem of reporter neatly solved. Not much in this season feels like new ground. Out in the woods at a cabin was Season 1-ish. Although this time it seemed Vincent was caught too easily. I mean a guy that can move like a blur is VERY hard to trap. Not only is he caught in a net but in the final scene he just lets someone whap him on the back of the head. Where are the powers, Dr. Keller? I have the fear that no matter who is behind this Beast Bounty, it's going to feel like Deja Vu again. I guess they had already fought just about every kind of Big Bad there is. "It's a Wonderful Beast" was the most creative episode so far.I loved 405, but for me this episode is a standout as well. I liked the darker serious feel and desperate tone of VinCat's situation. VinCat's connection was very evident in all their scenes.

This is a real solid episode so far. That reporter has some really GOOD sources..........I don't trust her. I like the Baddies of Graydal (?). Vincent fits in well. Tess is trying to have a life, I don't blame her. JT is still in love.......just sad. Unless they are going to put JT and Tess together, they need to wrap the relationship up. It is too painful to watch. No Heather? How does that reporter, Grace Rose, have all this information. Who are her sources? How would she know about the "Supersoldiers"? The Vincent and Cat scene was so emotional. Even though the repetitive dialogue is driving me crazy pants, they really won't have their "happily ever after". The reality of the situation is here and they can't go back. That Lake scene was visually stunning. It has to be one of the Best VinCat scenes. They both look stunningly beautiful. Jay is so Buff, wow,.......his arms are huge! Nice camera work......... I honestly believe this Grace Rose is going to help VinCat finally. I loved how shocked she was when Vincent did his Beast thing. The scene was like an epiphany.........She may be the one to finally give Vincent and Cat hope. Oh CRAP.............That Graydal guy is there........Oh no.........no, no, no..........he shot Grace!!!!!!!!!!! What? ??No? ? That is such a waste of character. Thank God, Catherine didn't get hurt...........the trailer really had me worried. I always thought Cat would have another almost death experience. Holy CRAP x 2!! Vincent is caught in another net......shades of Season 1!!! Having flashbacks!! Now Catherine kills the dude. Great maneuver for KK!! Another JT and Tess scene? ? Tess wants out, I get it..........she can only do so much for so long without risking her whole future. JT has made his choice and he is devoted to helping Vincent. I find that such bond of friendship rarely seen on TV. JT, at times annoys me, but I admire his loyalty. I loved the little banter between JT and KK at the apartment trying to convince Vincent to leave. Finally, JT and Cat, I don't know.......love each other too, even though they don't show it. Wow, Vincent turns himself in to Graydal??? Sorry, I think that is a suicide mission. How is Cat going to help him? Graydal looks like they are going after Cat now too. BOOM,......... lights out for Vincent at Graydal. Wow...............I really liked this episode. It had such a different feel. Was it the way it was filmed?........dark, but very rich backgrounds...everything looked different to me. The flow was great........the dialogue wasn't bad, not too much exposition. The drama was captured perfectly by Jay and Kristin's acting. These two............honestly, are so connected. The Chemistry is so palpable in this episode. I actually feel like BATB has turned the page. Everything has changed and everything feels like it is up in the air.
This actually feels like the season is hitting its stride now. Starting to feel sad. All my expectations are gone ( can't help it, but I wanted some real happy, passionate couple time. Oh well. ) and I am just going to enjoy the ride.
Well done BATB! I felt exactly the same way. You summed up the episode well.

You're right, this episode is touching! Why doesn't V. surrender to DHS? Tess's right: at this point, they put at risk all the people they love. This escape is too dangerous and unsustainable for all. V. was willing to show himself to a journalist (with all due respect, but always make her interest) and why not the police? After all he's a victim. Avoiding to reveal it to the right people, Vincent is guilty of murder. They could get in a protection program. The last scene tells all this pain for both... Sorrow and sweetness for Cat... For her look... How Vincent goes away, without even turning to look at her. It shows that he's tired of this life. Very strong also discussion about a normality that will never come back... In short an episode emotion proof!

^ Suzieq ❤️ Beastie - I love the way you edit and update your post as the episode progresses real time. I'll refrain from commenting on your comments until you're all done. Too kind sir. I really have tried to not be spoiled about the storyline each week this season. I like to try to get the vibe from you all early, but close my eyes to the details. I can't say that I enjoy it more since I was always spoiling myself the first 3 seasons. I do find that I almost like to be a little spoiled because I tend to relax more when watching. When I watch cold, I tend to miss something. I definitely will watch this tomorrow again. I must say, many episodes this year are rewatchable. I have not rewatched any Season 3 episodes. Goodnight all. . I too loved your moment by moment commentary. I am glad you liked the episode this week. It was certainly emotional. I have re-watched season 3 but mostly Episodes 1 and 13 which were the best.

This was my favourite episode this season.Even though many didn't like s3 for me it was good, atleast plotwise.I know romance was missing and wardrobe was bad but that superhuman experiment and Liam plot was good. I mean it wasn't about someone was after Vincent instead they were sloving the cases. But this season I feel the romance is there and I kind of like that they show that they are getting some action but not showing all the way.I don't have want to see sex scene to feel there is romance. But at this moment plot seems to confusing to be impressed. And for the record I liked the last kiss, it was both hot and emotional.

Since Rose was trying to expose them, I think Cat felt forced to go that way in order to get her help to exonerate Vincent. The same thing could have worked with DHS. But I guess Vincent doesn't trust them after what Hill did. Plus he'd probably be detained by DHS, with the bad guys still out there trying to get him. Like V said in the beginning of this ep, he wants to find out who the real big bad is, so he can rip his heart out! LOL.

Agree, it was a great song choice for the ending! It's Dondrea (@dawnzdrea on twitter) who picks the songs for the episodes. Hitower scores the musical (instrumental) background soundtracks. Here's an example of another song Dondrea wanted to use in S4, but didn't perhaps due to the expense of using a Prince song. It kind of hints at what might be in store for VinCat. Both great songs, would have loved to hear the Aaron Krause song but lets hope our VinCat don't have to die to save each other. Really don't think I could cope with the show finishing like that. Still traumatized by the end of Prison Break and White Collar did me no favours either. Here's another tweet by Dondrea with a song that's coming up soon.

I loved it.
And Cat's plan, born out of desperation, was a good one. As her plans usually are. They HAVE to trust someone, as they can't do this alone. Or Cat is finally bringing forth the point that they CAN'T keep on as they are going--it is too late for that. Normal isn't a possibility OR a reality. At this point, too many loose threads from FAR too long have caught up with them. Someone will always be after the beast AND will know that they have everything to hide. Seemingly repetitive, YES, BUT it has finally sunk in that Normal won't happen.
But Cat's plan utterly fails this time. Because someone was following the Reporter. Which ought to have been obvious, since EVERYONE, including Graydol, can see the Grace's "sources" have given her more info then anyone else has individually. WOW Grace! Just WHO are her sources, since there shouldn't be anyone else ALIVE right now with so much information!!
Which brings forth the question, just who ARE Grace's sources that have allowed her to uncover SO much?? Because they seemingly have connected ALL the loose threads, which given that so many people are DEAD that knew the truth, means that someone from the past HAS to have given up some information.
My first thought was Sam. That would be the obvious person. And it wouldn't be to get back at Vincent either. Maybe because whoever gave the information realized that Grace WOULD force a confrontation BY EXPOSURE, one way or another. And if Sam still wanted any hope of a Judgment Day for the Big Bad that ruined his life AND Vincent's, then he would think Grace would be the way.
But HOWEVER Grace had the information, SOMEONE knows a whole lot. BUT didn't disclose the actual "beast" issue. Which makes me think it WAS someone that ultimately wanted to protect Vincent as well.
But Cat's being at this cabin in the woods with the dead reporter means that she, quite frankly, should just up and go on the run OR come clean to DHS. I don't see what her other options are. She won't be able to talk her way out of this.
Wow. To come from LAST WEEK'S episode that LOOKED like VinCat were making progress towards getting their lives back. HAD they NOT gone with Cat's plan and just had Vincent go on to the Graydol meet, then Grace would have gone forward, and Vincent would have been exposed ANYWAY.
So VinCat is finally in a NO WIN situation. Going back to Graydol KNOWING that he would be handed over to the Ultimate Buyer was just, well, gutsy and stupid. OF COURSE Graydol would be ready for him NOW. Just WOW. Oh wow.
But I LOVED the realistic take that VinCat HAVE seen and done TOO MUCH that has been covered up with TOO MANY dead people resulting to have any hope of getting out of this unscathed.
Personally, going to DHS and just presenting what Vincent had to offer would have been a MUCH better way, in my opinion. Yeah, DHS could have decided to prosecute Vincent. BUT WHY give up such a great resource that would have been DEPENDENT on DHS' willingness to continue to cover up the beast thing?
OBVIOUSLY, the shows' frontrunners are going for either an utter complete TRAGEDY for an ending, or VinCat somehow someway HAVE to get to the bottom of just WHY someone wants a Beast so badly. And hope to stop whatever said individual is planning. And that stopping that WHATEVER would somehow convince DHS to give them a way out. Those are the ONLY possibilities that I can come up with now, BUT THE WRITERS HAVE SURPRISED ME this season. At multiple turns.
So I am enjoying this season SO MUCH more. There is desperation AND passion AND commitment and love, WITHOUT the VinCat pointlessly dissing one another and quarrelling over stupid stuff that was there last season.
(THE PARAGRAPH ABOVE is still why I can't like Season 3 BEASTIEBOY, although Liam had potential and the resolving of SOME of the Vanessa stuff REALLY gave KK a chance to show her emotional range---you are RIGHT, Season 3 is NOT a total loss altogether. BUT I dislike S3 for the SAME EXACT reasons that I hated S2's "Ancestors," which you ended up liking. I could NOT stand the VinCat anger and pettiness. The lack of their romance KILLED what otherwise might have been an interesting plot. So that is STILL the absolute barrier for me to appreciating anything much from either "Ancestors" or Season 3.)
But I AM LOVING Season 4, period. This episode gave me a PASSIONATE and desperate VinCat. BUT they don't take anything out on one another and don't blame one another. THEY JUST WANT to find a LIFE TOGETHER, whatever that may be.
Sorry DAN, but the plot is good enough that I say we just HAVE to appreciate what KK has given to this role. Her portrayal of Cat still IS a strong female persona that DOESN'T back down. And her devotion to her husband over career or anything else shows her passion. And her desperation to find a RIGHT way to get out of all of this. But she is realistic AND still strong enough for herself AND Vincent, which just gives him a REASON to hold on AND walk back into a den of bad guys INTENT on harming him.
So go KK and Jay. LOVING their portrayal of a hopeless catch-22 style situation. From the high of last episode, that looked like progress was being made, to the ultimate low of this episode, where you see JUST how EASY it is to slip off the cliff once more, with tragedy more and more likely. Wow.

And LOVED how it was Catherine that finally pointed out to Vincent that their lives were done as they had been before. Even BEFORE the reporter fiasco. She gave the wake-up call that we all knew but poor Vincent still hadn't accepted yet.
But she does it in a way that lets Vincent know she is still supportive AND is not blaming him. It is what it is. There is just too much unexplained stuff that will NOT go away.
Cat then gives Vincent some time alone while she herself clearly was getting emotional. But she didn't want him to see her like that. And she pulls herself together and goes looking for him. And NEITHER of them want to be apart. They want to plan TOGETHER. And while Cat's plan has so MUCH risk to it, it really IS the plan TO COME FORWARD with the truth.
But loved how Vincent considered just STAYING at the cabin, once the real truth is out there that they CAN'T go back to the Normal of before. Vincent JUST wants to find a way to move FORWARD TOGETHER, same as Cat. In whatever life they can find for one another.
So I LOVED those VinCat scenes. Even when tense, the LOVE was there FULL FORCE. Just beautiful.
And that final VinCat car scene. When SO MUCH can go wrong. Their poignant clinging to one another. Just. . . I don't have the words. Sweet/tender/desperate/passionate--resoundingly everything I love about VinCat the most. Romantically tragic.
(BUT just because the Tragedy was so beautiful will NOT ever EVER make me go along with PIPPIN's desire to just see either Vincent or Catherine DIE over this! That is still SO WRONG, Pippin!!! I Still BETTER get my Happy Ending, with MANY DANCING BANANAS I tell ya!!)
