I liked that this episode had Cat back to solving cases, albeit without her badge and without Tess really by her side. All in all, it was a good but not great episode for me. Like everyone else, I wish the VinCat moment at the end could have lasted a little bit longer. I also think the preview was a bit of a tease and misleading. With Gabe saying words like "hurt her", but in the episode he really says "don't hurt her" (which is what I expected) and is referring to Cat's sister (which I hadn't expected). The preview also makes it look like everyone is after Cat, but that's not really the situation either. So the episode wasn't what I was expecting at all, but still very enjoyable. I stay away from this board on Mondays as I don't want to be "spoiled", watched it live at 9 pm Pacific. It amazes me how so many US Beasties have access to watch it before it airs. Makes me wonder if that has an affect on the ratings. am pretty sure it affects the rating. i watch it early since i'm not living in US anyways. but am taking steps as suggested by members of this forum, which can affect the series in one way or another e.g. stream from CW everyday once it's available, buying the DVD, voting etc...

I don't know if you could call me looking like this okay! We had school photos today and I'm telling you now I'm NOT looking forward to seeing my picture! My eyes were red from staring at my laptop screen for hours last night, re-watching 'certain' ahem VinCat scenes. My students will forever be terrified of their Year 3 teacher 2014!! oh my…. you definitely in need of a doctor here. You know THAT doctor is very close to you now. Just fly to NZ Oh trust me the idea has crossed my mind on MORE than one occasion!!! He's just 2 hours away from me!! If only I could just drop work, life and responsibilities and fly east to seek my heart's ULTIMATE desire!!

DayaBEASTS3, you should put the screen shot of the butt grab. You know during the kiss, he has his hand on her butt just before he lifts her. chilly20 that was a dimly lit episode and they HAVE to zoom out at the most crucial moment, don't they??

I didn't really post a comment and review of this episode because it rendered me utterly speechless but the Vincent/Heather scene in the dungeon has to be one of my favourite!!! Vincent's face when begging Heather not to overreact and Heather's actual reaction? Both Jay and Nicole NAILED that scene!!!! A brilliant scene!! Looking forward to more Vincent/Heather interactions ha ha ha…. Heather's scream was priceless! u on tumblr? i saw it there before...

This is the first episode this season where I enjoyed watching Gabe and that was because he reminded me of Season 1 Gabe. His character wasn't written well this season and that's why I haven't been a fan. He showed remnants in this ep of the evil villain he was last season. I still don't understand why he's desperately trying to capture 'the vigilante'. Is it because he is in love with Catherine ( which I don't get ) or is it because he is jealous of Vincent ( which I also don't get ) or is it a whole other reason I'm just not grasping? And seriously, if he says the words 'capture the vigilante' one more time I'm going to That last scene with him killing the witness and the scratch marks and him looking at himself in the mirror was superbly done! I was praying he wouldn't beast out in that scene because I don't want him reverting back to being a beast. I want him to be evil and villainous while being 100% human. Just to show that you don't have to have Beast DNA to act all beastly and monstrous and commit villainous acts. I love how the 'Good Guy' mask has fallen off Gabe. BUT....I'm tired of the Gabe arc. I should be fearful of the villain, fearful because he is an actual threat to my beloved couple. I don't feel threatened by him. I just dislike him because I don't see his purpose. I think he should serve his purpose in the remaining 3 episodes and just go away ( politely speaking ) I want to see more VinCat story, more mythology, more history, more backstory, more angst and romance between our LOVERS, amongst themselves. NO TRIANGLES OR SQUARES! An external force that threatens our beloved couple. After all, the show is called Beauty and the Beast, NOT Beauty and Beast and Ex-Beast. Seriously Gabe is getting more screen-time than our main characters, which is not sitting well with me. So hope his arc is finalized in these upcoming 3 episodes

after some more viewing... correct me if i'm wrong but this didn't happen right? and why after that VinCat kiss, (when Cat jumped down from the ledge) they are standing so farther apart instead of closer?? They just share a stolen, interrupted kiss for heaven's sake…

They just share a stolen, interrupted kiss for heaven's sake… You're right. We didn't see Gabe carrying the witness but it has happened many times before with this show. And I know that VinCat just shared a HOT SIZZLING moment but as soon as they heard the helicopter hovering they knew Vincent needed to get out of there and fast. So I guess it's understandable why they would move away quickly. These scenes are reminding me of Season 1. Remember how frustrated we used to get every time VinCat were interrupted or disturbed but then we got the YOWZA MAMMA MIA moments that made us forget the torture we went through. I'm praying and hoping this is what will happen this time around too

Gabe is NOT taking actions against Vincent for any pure motives any more. He all but admitted this to Cat last week when he said that he was trying to "destroy Vincent." Cat pointed out that didn't he mean to "arrest" Vincent. Cat still did argue to Vincent in this week's episode that Gabe's actions had been to protect her, but Vincent calls her out on that one.
Gabe basically has this entitlement complex that makes him believe he is entitled to the girl, the perfect job, power, money etc. Gabe cannot believe that he could have lost the girl to some beast with no claims to status. Gabe thought he had planned for every contingency and manipulated the people around him, especially Cat, into doing just what he wanted. At the point that Gabe thought he had it all, he lost it all. Gabe had also made it a point to warn off Vincent, and Vincent refused to bow down to Gabe and do what he wanted. Gabe just can't live with that. Originally, Bob Reynolds gave him a way for him to see his actions as "protecting" Cat, but by taking away Cat's livelihood and connections, he has really left Cat isolated. And with a clear attack coming at Vincent from people's unknown (that caused heart attack to cop and killed guy that Bob hired), Cat has been left highly vulnerable as Vincent is in hiding and can't be with her most of the time. Thus, Gabe's motives can't be remotely construed to protecting Catherine anymore. It is about his being denied what he wanted and in making that person pay for standing in the way. Gabe won't accept losing or being unable to control the situation. While part of Gabe's issues could arguably be attributed to his childhood where he was helpless to control anything that was done to him, Gabe has still made the choice to put his wants and needs above everybody else. At some point, you can't blame your childhood: you have to take responsibility for your own actions. Gabe has been like a broken record in stating that real "beasts" can't change--and he has proven that right, as his real inner character is that of a Monster. By the end of this episode, even Gabe seems somewhat horrified at being Gabe, although that doesn't stop him. Gabe's downward spiral seems to border on madness at this point, and he is utterly completely consumed with his Destroy Vincent campaign, as he blames Vincent rather than himself for his downfall.

So hope his arc is finalized in these upcoming 3 episodes I totally agree with you on everything (Surprise!) Regarding the bold part; that's what I want too. But considering how my thoughts/guesses have turned out to be different from those of the writers' (at least the first half of S2) and we seem to have been on a different wavelength, I'm going with the " physical dormant beast" theory, not the metaphorical one. I mean I really want it to be clearly shown that he, as a human, is evil - not because of his "Beast". But I doubt it, again, as my thoughts are usually idle speculations. We shall see...

Oh! I found a very small and tiny "plot hole" which probably it is not... LOL Ok, I'll explain myself. When C and V are looking for murders committed by Gabe, Catherine says that they can place him at the scene of the crime of Ray Sheckman but actually they CAN'T!! C and V didn't cross with Gabe in that museum! Evan did! BUT, I remember seeing a pic of Catherine grabbing Gabe's arm at the museum, probably confused cause she thought it was V. So MAYBE there was a deleted scene where C meets Gabe at the museum. In that case, there is no plot hole in this ep! LOl this is crazy... I hope I explained myself good enough!!! You did explain yourself! A couple of things about it: - I think there is even a bigger plot hole regarding the driver's death... they never suspected of Gabe before, how did they know that he had an alibi? And what was it?
- Even if C and V didn't cross with Gabe in that museum (which they didn't do, you are right!), she did mention that both of them had been in that ball last year in "About last night".

Hi alwayscrazed, I also wondered if Gabe was beasting out again. I got the feeling that he didn't quite plan to kill the witness but just threaten and scare him into retracting his statement. I thought Gabe looked surprised when he couldn't control his actions and that he seemed frightened and surprised (he thought he had been cured) that he was reverting back to beastly ways. I thought it was a return to beast-Gabe as in what he was most of his life. However, I am the worst at guessing this kind of thing and am usually wrong lol I agree, Gabe did not have the intention to kill the witness, just to scare him, but he lost control exactly when he realized he could not control the situation. In my opinion, the writers' will is to make us realize that someone does not need to have a "damaged" in order to become a beast. It goes beyond that...
