Just trying to clarify, Catherine tells Vincent that Aaron was 6 years old the last time he saw it, then Vincent went to medical school (how long the united states? 5 or 7 years minimum? (here in France it is the minimum according to specialization) and then added (not counting how long Vincent remained doctor) or 10 years he disappeared, so that is at least about fifteen years that Aaron did not seen his uncle, not to mention the trauma of losing his father, just an idea like that No, it doesn't make sense. Even with med school, Vincent wouldn't stop seeing his family completely. That would be absolutely non-canon. How are we calling things canon? There is no canon with Vincent's family. All Cat said was that the last time he saw V was when he was 6. That could be at any time.

The writers were the ones that messed Aaron's age, not me. I understand what they wanted to show and I thought it was a good idea, I just think that the writers ignore basic things some times. I'm sorry, but they got that wrong. Apparently, they don't know how to count.

Maybe it was Catherine who wasn't doing the math She probably was thinking of the flashback Vincent had, where Aaron could have been six, but actually that was in 98, and Aaron was 9 in 2001, which would have been his last chance to see Uncle Vincent. In that case he'd have been 21. Also, the fire chief(?) said that he'd promised Aaron's mom to get him fast-tracked on the investigator side. This kid has connections, after all; whole family of firefighters plus his dad's picture is on the wall. So I could see some people being willing to break a few rules. Clearly he knew how to use all the fire-fighter gear, though, so he's had the basic training. Just a thought

All I'm saying is that we don't know 'when' he was six years old and we don't know what year Vincent last saw Aaron. We can't necessarily use the 10 years as the timeline/timeframe.

about an hour ago feezya said: Julz, Thanks for sharing all the links to the 9-11 Memorial. AND....are there really two Kellers inscribed on the Memorial?? You should TWEET that to Sherri and Jennifer and the cast.........I wonder if they knew that? I am not on Twitter. Could someone tweet that info to them? Also, tweet them the link to the Keller names on the list of names for the memorial. Maybe someone could tweet the link to them? Here it is: Keller Search results at 9/11 Memorial waterfallsOut of respect to the families, if you do go to the site and search names, please do not post the personal information or pictures or anything with their names on it here. If something like that does happen, I would ask the mods to please remove it. Thanks! Julz

The best thing about this episode was the ending.
I ask for "originality" and I got it.
The 9/11 Memorial is just so moving. I was just there two weeks ago. And each time I am there I get goose bumps. I have calm down a lot. A few years back each time I went as they re-built, I just could not believe it. I just could not believe those towers were gone and what had happenned. Even though I lost no one there, you can't helped but be moved. Anyways, I thought they tied that so well to Vincent's back ground.
***************************************
One thing, was the masseuses at Catherine's place? That was the neighbor who called out right?
That's hella expensive to bring the help to your house. They couldn't go to the spa?
Just sayin'.

Can I just say—again—how much I dislike Tess? She is grating on me more than Heather did and that is saying something. Where is JT? He is so much funnier and more supportive than the <edited>y cop partner. Please don’t ditch the BFF for the one-note bore that is Tess. Seriously, is the only thing she can worry about is who likes Catherine? No wonder she has no man in her life, it’s amazing she even had Joe. Don't even get me started with Tess. I so agree with you. I never liked her all that much from the very beginning. The chicks go attitude. That New York attitude. I was surprised that she was willing to share a man with another woman. A man that didn't belong to her. Hello!!! I so wanted Joe's wife to show up and slap her. She has the nerve to to be judgmental about Catherine with Vincent when she was secretly sleeping with a married man. Please!!! There was waaaaay too much of her in this episode for my taste. And she keeps saying that Gabe is attracted to Catherine. Leave the man alone!!!! What are you jealous that Catherine may have two men. And you got none. At least Gabe is not falling all over himself over Catherine. If he has feelings.......I don't see them yet. Tess needs to shut the F up and leave that alone. Let the man try to help Catherine and Vincent as best he can. If something develops later, I am sure Catherine can handle herself. ~Milo

I don't mind Tess so much, but I understand your point. I think the problem with the series is highlighted by some of the (excellent) opinions by the posters here........there are SO many dislikeable characters.....or characters dislikeable in some way. Not that dislikeable characters are not important characters, but it does get grating over time. In my opinion, JT is the only character that's really NOT dislikeable in some way. I've come to the conclusion that the problem with the series must be Sherri Cooper and Jennifer Levin. I just don't think their vision for the series is correct. Anyways.....

I never saw a best friend on her, the same way I never saw a sister in Heather. Plus, I can't really understand why is Gabe better than Vincent. Wait! I do! Vincent is a killer! Wait! No, I don't! Gabe is a even worse killer.

~Milo I agree that Tess should leave Gabe alone. Gabe is becoming almost likeable, really. Yet, what I love about Gabe is that you never know what his TRUE motives are; I think he will surprise us soon!

My time has come to finally have my musings..I'll try to make this short BUT as usual my Cuban side will overtake this post and well you all know the outcome LOL So with that said read on at your own risk Catherine tries to move on,Night out with Tess, Sexually frustrated Vincent work out, Gabe investigating arsonist figures out he's a beast,Catherine at bar gets hit on(as in a guy) and then hits back with punches(as in kicking ass LOL), knocks a judge out in the processCatherine dilemma aside from everything going on with Vincent, her sister moving away, and Thomas not being her real father is fighting with having a messy room and finding her favorite boots to go out with Tess. She admits her life is a mess, in all departments, She also acknowledges that she CAN'T just forget about Vincent but that she must think of herself first and take care of her issues before dealing with Vincent. I get her here. One must do for yourself first before attempting to save, protect or even be involved with someone else. We know this isn't easy. On the other spectrum we have a very frustrated Vincent working out a sweat..Having Catherine issues because like he tells Condor(Cat's sperm dad) he can't get her out of his mind. He wants to finish the missions quickly so he can go back to Catherine. Condor tells him that as soon as he's done with all the beasts he's free to live his life(YEAH RIGHT! WAKE UP AND SMELL THE FUDGE COFFEE)..Vincent frustrated ends the convo abruptly. In the meantime our man Gabe(I wanna be a good guy now but I like Catherine but I am sure that's not going to get in the way of anything cause I am trying to do good) is trying to figure out an arsonist who he figures out is a beast. He then freaks out and demands everyone to get a hold of Catherine ASAP. Gabe oh Gabe who are you fooling man? As much as I like Sendhil as Gabe I DON NOT TRUST GABE! NOT FOR A SECOND! Back at the bar, the girls are having a great time, and 3 mind erasers later Cat and Tess are playing pool..She's really hitting the BALLS hard, I wonder who's balls she really wants to hit? Her dads? Vincents? Either way she is trying to have some fun when another set of balls via a dude named Collin shows up and tries to make a pass at her..Of course try that with a woman who at the moment isn't to keen with the men of her life and what do you get? Disaster. After numerous attempts to get him off her case she pushes the guy, punches the guys girlfriend and mistakenly kicks a guy without seeing who he was. Turns out he's a judge.BIG OOPS! I find this last scene interesting cause I think Catherine over reacted by causing the fight. She could have walked away like Tess suggested by simply just leaving. Was it right for her to do this? NO. Se's a cop should know better. I was pissed at Vincent for pushing Catherine on the rooftop..Violence against anyone unjust is wrong. Just my opinion so don't shoot meGabe bails Catherine and Tess out of jail, Tells Catherine in private about the arsonist beast, tries to convince Catherine to talk to Vincent to help him capture the beast, suggests trying to save Vincent the way she saved him, She refuses and leaves, Gabe sets out to Vincent's house boat, asks for his help in finding the beast, Vincent looks for the arsonist via his super powers, Vincent finds and fights with beast, He's knocked out and left unconscious in the burning buildingWhat is up with Gabe? He's all tense and starts chewing out Catherine and Tess. He has the best ONE liner in this episode though LOL "Trouble is getting a flat tire. YOU flattened a judge!" I think whatever he has up his sleeve has to do with Catherine. Does he really have feelings for her? I just don't know. I am not worried about him in that aspect cause well Evan loved Catherine and well he's DEAD DEAD. So Gabe better watch it..He might end up 6 feet under. As for trying to recruit Catherine to convince Vincent was stupid of HIM LOL..He should have known better then that SHE wasn't going to have Vincent hunt another beast. Especially by her asking him, since what she wants is for him to come clean with her, that would be hypocritical of her to ask him that..So what does Gabe do?? He goes to see Vincent by himself! HOW STUPID LOL Well stupider is when he tells Vincent he tried to KILL him 4 months earlier LOL I guess Gabe had a death wish yeah? Well when things get heated up between them and Vincent grabs Gabe by his neck he explains he used to be a beast too and that he wants to help him that the only way he can is by doing the same thing Catherine did to save him. When Vincent asks Gabe about Catherine Gabe tells him Catherine wasn't to happy with the idea. Vincent lets Gabe go and tells him be knows he's telling the truth. So Gabe tells Vincent who the beast is and Vincent takes things into his own hands. He tells Gabe he doesn't want to capture BUT kill IT. Then he leaves Gabe at the boathouse alone. Now I find Vincent's choice of wording when referring to the beast interesting. HE doesn't say he wants to kill HIM But says IT! Does Vincent consider these creatures NOT HUMAN? What does he consider himself to be? I think this is very interesting for the coming storyline. I think that LINE or WORD said volumes when it comes to Vincent's missions and the way he was programmed. Then Vincent meets the beast in the burning building. It doesn't go well cause as prayerful as Vincent is, the other beasts abilities get to him. Vincent is knocked out left on the burning building floor unconscious Girls spy time..Gabe insists and girls try to ignore..Catherine and Gabe at the hospital, She sees Vincent, they talk, Reynolds goes to hospital, Fire inspectors visit Vincent for info, Blast from the past, Vincent freaks and beasts out, jumps out the hospital window. This part of the episode was ONE of my favorites...Tess and Cat having down time via spa time or at least trying too, She continues to talk about Vincent and Tess gets annoyed, then her phone rings, it's Gabe, then she ignores it,Tess gets a text..Gabe again..Then her door is knocked..It's her neighbor telling her Gabe Lowen is calling and why she isn't picking up her own phone LOL.Catherine sort of pissed at Vincent for doing something stupid. The fact that they talk. I love the whole "You're supercharged but not invincible' and the "You want to remember \me?" convo my shipper heart skipped a beat with that one. Then Reynolds shows up at hospital but leaves when he sees the fire inspectors and Gabe. Once inside the room the fire inspectors begin to question 'Victor' A younger and spunky one named Aaron isn't to happy with the way things are going..Gabe to try to ease he questioning tells the inspectors that Victor got hit in the head and had a bit of amnesia LOL (Gabe wasn't really lying there though ) Arron gets upset and the older inspector tells him to cool it...At the same time he tells Gabe,Cat, and Victor that he comes from a family of Hothead the Keller boys. When the name is said, Catherine asks if he was related to William and Vincent and the young man says is that William was his father who died in the towers and that Vincent was his uncle. Catherine looks at Vincent who begins to freak out..His heart rate begins to go crazy and Catherine's calls ain't helping..So Gabe throws the guys out and walks away with them as Vincent continues to freak out..Catherine calls him but nothing..He's heart rate is at 215 then Vincent sees flashback. He's taken back to a barbeque ..there's he has flash of William, family and Aaron as a child, Vincent is playing football with him, Vincent then sees himself and William as firefighters going into a fire, William and Vincent go in together but get separated. Catherine in the meantime is trying to call out to Vincent who is lost in his memory. Vincent helps William. Then Vincent beasts out rips the machines he was hooked on off and jumps out of the hospital window..Leaving a very shocked Catherine and Gabe just looking at each other. I was very surprised to find out so much about Vincent from that flashback. He used to be a firefighter. He mentioned in earlier episodes about his brothers but never that he used to be one before going to med school. Also one interesting observation about his beasting out and Catherine. I noticed that she wasn't only worried for him at the time but for a second there I saw FEAR. Is FEAR in his losing control of himself. I think she was thinking or reacted to what happened at the rooftop in kidnapped for a second. Maybe it can be categorized not as much fear but respect for what he is. I found that bit in her reaction interesting. Vincent gets a call from Reynolds, he tells him about the flashbacks and how he's having more and more..Reynolds tries to calm him down..Tells him he'd be finished with his missions and he'd be free to live a normal life(yeah right), Vincent goes to boathouse where Catherine is waiting for him, She's worried and they have a talk about what Vincent was remembering, Catherine tells him she didn't know he was a fireman and they talk about the significance of them and finding the truth for both of them..Her for who her father is and him about his past. Gabe gets the defibrillator ready to try it on the beast and if it works to help Vincent, Tess again confronts Gabe about his feelings for Catherine, which Gabe sort of admits too, Vincent and Catherine go to the firehouse to see Aaron and help in the investigation. Vincent sees plaques of his brothers from 9/11 at the firehouse, They determine the building that the beast will hit next, Arron goes on his own, the fire alarm goes off, Vincent and Catherine figure out Arron is going on his own.Reynolds is getting on Vincent's nerves..Vincent is beginning to have doubts I think. Reynolds knows that Vincent is losing it and that eventually things are going to go downhill...So he gives Vincent a pep talk again, Vincent goes home to find a worried Catherine waiting for him..He tells her it's not a good time to be around but she refuses to leave. She asks him what he saw in his flashback. HE begins to tell him about the burning building, getting separated from William going in to get him out and getting him out. Once again Catherine is surprised by the revelation that he used to be a fireman before he went to med school. But Vincent isn't to sure about the flashbacks being real, Catherine tells him that they are cause you just don't get flashes but you feel what you see. 'Memories aren't just playback..You feel it. They trigger emotion and emotion doesn't lie..it's real..Reveals who you were..Who YOU are." I love that line Catherine said ..I think this is her way of making him understand what he was trying to piece together. What they are both trying to piece together, Her with her father and him with his past and WHO HE IS. Then we have Tess and Gabe again, Now Tess is getting annoying trying to get him to admit his feelings for Catherine. What the hell is wrong with her?? I think she's just in need of a GOOD FUDGING and some MAJOR action. Maybe then she'd lighten up about Catherine and her love life and Gabe and his. I don't know at this point what Gabe is going to gain from helping Vincent? I still say there's something Gabe is hiding about what his true intentions are. Sometimes I think he wants Vincent to be human so he can easily kill him LOL I don't know but what other thing can it be? Now Vincent and Catherine go to the firehouse to see Arron.Vincent is afraid of two things. 1 that his nephew would recognize him and 2 that he might lose control again and be seen. Catherine reassures him of both and they enter the firehouse. There they meet up with Arron ..Vincent looks at the wall that has two plaques one of William and the other Daniel, then he tells him that he had another uncle Vincent who died in Afghanistan ..Vincent tells him he lost so much..Then Arron explains that he wants to get the guy cause he doesn't want to lose anyone else. So as they are talking the alram goes off and Arron runs off on his own. Vincent and Catherine sweet moment (SIGH), He goes in after Aaron, Aaron Confronts beast and gets knocked out, Gabe shows up, Vincent finds beast again, they fight, Beast runs off, Vincent begins to search for Aaron, Flashbacks and visions, Vincent sees William and finds Aaron, Catherine kills Beast tries to revive him with no avail, Vincent pulls nephew out of burning buildingI know I'm a hopeless romantic LOL but I love the fact that Catherine is so worried about Vincent and questions his abilities with this new beast. On the other hand I love how confident Vincent is when he tells her it's ok..I love the fact that he reassures her by giving her a kiss. But I think he did it for both of them, He wanted in the kiss to get the strength to go in there and do the job..and on the other hand he kissed her to state the fact that he was going to be okay. I truly think they both needed that MOMENT at that time(As did I) Then we have Aaron trying to be a hero(look like someone we know? ) of course it doesn't turn out good. In comes Gabe ready to revive the beast to test his theory. Catherine tells him that they might need to use it on Vincent instead. Vincent is now face to face with the beast again, they fight and as he has the guy where he wants him Aaron's buzzer goes off and Vincent loses his concentration and sets his mind on Aaron. The beast gets away. Vincent begins to call out to his nephew and the smoke in the room is beginning to bother him..He begins to hear his name called out, "Vincent" ..He recognizes it and calls to it.."Will" ..Vincent begins to walk towards the voice.. "William" ..He then begins seeing flashbacks again, Of him saving William and William telling him he's going back to medical school cause there mom can't lose him like that..Vincent is being overwhelmed by the smoke and the flashback, he sees himself as the resident doctor and the TV with the towers falling..He comes back to reality and calls his brother again..Then for a moment he looks up and there's "William" Vincent calls to him like in shock to see him and then his brother looks down to his side. It's Aaron on the floor unconscious. Vincent runs to Aaron to help..He turns and William isn't there anymore. He tells Arron he's going to be alright. Catherine catches up to the fire Beast and kills him ..Gabe comes in to try to revive him but without success. Vincent pulls his nephew out of the building, Arron asks him who he is..Vincent tells him "I wish I could tell you buddy" then calls the firemen over to help..Vincent leaves as they help Aaron out I have to say that the part of Vincent's visions of William truly moved me..I got teary eyed watching Vincent desperately trying to find his 'lost' brother. It is testament to the power of love. Through William Vincent's instincts of saving the life of Aaron. I think in his mind it was a way to save his brother at a time that he could not. Vincent couldn't do anything for William or Daniel as he watched on TV the towers fall but in saving Aaron who was a part of William Vincent achieved IMO some closure to 9/11 for the Keller's that is. The way Vincent called "William" is haunting to me..I don't now why well I do..Jay Ryan brings so much emotion with his acting..HIS voice , his expressions that he truly made me believe that what he was feeling was REAL. One can only imagine a situation like that, losing someone in a situation like that..UNBEARABLE I love the last scene he had with Arron too..He now knows he still has family out there, I truly hope the writers bring him and a few other family members back in season 2. There is so much there to tell. We only just broke through the surface. I want to see more.
We come now to the most poignant and most moving part of this episode. It has been 5 days since I saw the episode first and I can't tell you the feelings I still get from it today. It is something that truly has moved me and as I write this what I feel is something that I can't explain really.Gabe and Tess, Catherine and Arron and the walk to the memorialGabe and Tess..Get over it already..TESS I don't like you one bit and unless 1. You either change the attitude or 2. Get laid and chill outI truly think you are the weakest link. I liked Evan better and he's dead. SO right now I don't care much about you. Gaabe..You intrigue me..I don't know what your motive is but it better not be to try to get to Catherine's heart or PANTS for that MATTER!! If you turn up to be a baddy good, maybe then Vincent can finally chop your head off LOL Now for the thing that made this episode so SPECIAL and MOVING..The end scene. From the walk through NYC streets and the talk about memories and the fact that Catherine was pleasantly surprised about Vincent being a fireman and the fact that they seems to have a normal conversation without Catherine wanting Vincent 1.0 back it was the MEMORIAL scene that did it for me. "My brothers are HERE" .. That line ALONE did it for me..I said earlier that the reason why that line got me in tears was cause JAY wasn't speaking of his brothers but of all those that lost their REAL brothers, fathers, sisters, , Mothers, ALL the victims of that tragic and unforgettable day. I love how he tried to make sense of the loss and how Catherine tried to tell him that HE WAS THERE FOR A REASON..That EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON...That without him there at that moment he wouldn't have been able to save his nephew. It also showed HOPE ..Hope to move forward in their relationship and the fact that they have much to learn, discover and get through they are willing to try it together. POIGNANT ending but wonderfully played out and acted. KUDOS AGAIN TO JAY AND KRISTIN.
I also want to quickly address about the lack of JT..I think the writers were smart not to have JT in this episode. Remember JT is a usually for comic relief, at this point I don't think it was appropriate to bring him in to do wise cracks. I know Tess and Gabe had some comic relief in this episode but it was for the purpose of the specific situation. There you have it folks. I can go on and on about this episode I saw NO flaws in this..NONE at all..Oh well yeah maybe one well it's not a flaw it depends on how you see it.. The Aaron age thing...Arron was 6 when Vincent last saw him..But when was that? Maybe Vincent was away a lot when he was in med school and when he's brothers died in the towers he went to war. So we can't go by the age of Aaron at the time cause that could have along time before 9/11 and Vincent in med school ..just saying This episode get 10 I love this show..I love what it stands for, This is why we must all fight to have more of it. Thanks for reading through the whole thing LOL

I have just a quick question then I need to go read your review Yolie! I was trying to find this Script tease quote and finally found it from SpoilerTV: www.spoilertv.co.uk/images/Beauty%20and%20the%20Beast/Season%202/Script%20Teases/batb-episode-204-script-tease.png.phpHighlight quote: Now SpoilerTV said this script tease was in THIS Episode 2.04 - HOTHEAD, now we know this character is coming in Episode 6.....so do you think this was scrapped? I just thought that this is a line Cat would say after she hit that girl in the pool hall (From THIS Episode) but it was taken out? Because this is clearly when Cat is "broken up from Vincent" (based on the end scene from Episode 2.03 - LIAR, LIAR? Now it seems to be changed....... Just a bit confused?
