I finally got around to watching the episode and my feelings are pretty much in line with everyone here (no no Vincent)
I really enjoyed Evan in this episode. He saved Cat's life and afterwards in the hospital he was so sweet. And I'm so glad we were able to see a little more into Evan's life. He was a gifted surgeon and he chooses only to work with dead bodies now. It makes me wonder about his previous life. I'm also looking forward to the J.T./Evan partnership.
As for Alex.....there just seemed to be something off about her. It may be my bias but I don't think so. Are the writers expecting us to believe that a smart, beautiful nurse would be pining for Vincent for 10 years? And the whole stalker storyline was silly. The part where she gets Cat to search her closet? It just seemed staged and for what purpose I don't know. For the writers to further torture Cat's character? Just to get Cat to see Vincent and Alex happy together. It just feels like Alex has an agenda. We will see I guess.
I will say KK was excellent in this episode. I hope she submits this episode to the Emmy panel. IMO she was very good!

When you lay it out like this.....it does seem very forced and purposeful on Alex's part. But, I think that is how the psycho stalker guy got a lot of his info on Alex's "soldier" boyfriend was from the letters in her closet. Yes, it is weird that she had them so readily available in the front of her closet without a lid on the box. I have a question: Maybe I am missing something. But, I thought that Vincent left Alex close to the wedding. He didn't say goodbye to her, that is what he said. He enlisted in the military, packed his bags and left, per Jay's interview. It seemed like he hadn't talked with her or communicated with her and then she got the news that he died in Afghanistan. Now, I can see a letter (like the one Cat read) that Vincent could of written to Alex explaining things, BUT..........there was a whole box FULL OF LETTERS from Lt. Vincent Keller in the box from his deployment in Afghanistan?? Something just seems weird with that,..........and that is bugging me??

Finally watched the episode and I have to say, I really enjoyed it. I thought I'd be really depressed with the whole Valex thing going on, but I wasn't. I wasn't even that bothered by the kiss. Alex is not Cat, but she is beautiful, especially her eyes. And well, Vincent is HIZOOOT. Still, i wasnt feeling any chemistry, which is good beause hello, VinCat rocks, but also because it makes me feel that this whole Valex thing is not serious at all but only a tool to keep VinCat from moving forward. Anyway, I felt Cat was completely justified in her reasons for wanting to put her "relationship" with Vincent on hold. She witnessed an embrace/kiss between the two in which the both looked...comfortable. How could she not feel like there may be a possibility Vincent still has feelings for Alex? Cat did the right thing. Vincent...sigh. Vincent. I'm not upset with him because I feel like more than anything he's confused. He feels familiarity and care with Alex. With Cat, it's connection, love, understanding, trust. I kind of understand the guy. I didnt like all the lying though to fix that, some groveling will be necessary. ;D Honestly, the last scene of this episode is my FAVORITE VinCat scene of the season. i loved the angst, the chemistry, argh! Painfully awesome! ;D

When Vincent came back from the hospital, and JT starts talking Clown Fish, how 'bout a "How's Catherine?" to start the conversation... once again, BAD WRITING!!!

I want to join the "you are gonna probably hate me for saying this" club... first of all I had to force myself three times to come back and read your comments because every time I started to read it... it was "I hate Vincent", "this is a stupid show", "wanted to turn of the TV", "Vincent is lying" "WTF"... and so on and I was sooo pissed I had to stop reading and calm down... because I LIKED the episode. I think you are too harsh with Vincent's behavior. According to most of your comments you expect Vincent to be a fairy prince on a white horse. Why do you expect Vincent to be perfect? Who said he is the ultimate good guy without any failure in this show? He is lying? So what? He was confused like someone would normally be in a situation like that... No one mentions that Catherine is stealing? She is just taking pictures without asking (first from Vincent, now from Alex). That is ok? It's a stupid comparison but still... No one is perfect and I don't understand why do you expect him to be one? I also liked how Evan helped Catherine in the beginning but he might turn out to be the bad guy according to the ending with JT. Most of you say how great Evan was in this episode. What about him lying to Catherine??? When she asks about the accident... The episode was dynamic and not boring at all for me. JT had a great line again... I always look for that. There was also action in it and I really liked the part with Vincent seeing in the dark. Also as someone already mentioned when Evan kissed Catherine and she kissed him back that was ok. But now that Alex kissed Vincent and he didn't really wanted to kiss her back that is like WTF was he thinking.... Ok, I'm done with my rant... I could probably go on with why was this a good episode... I can't wait to see how this is all gonna work out... I just had to say all this because I don't think the writers went too far as some of you are saying. My suggestion is try to watch an episode without reading spoilers and it would be refreshing as you won't be watching it with predetermined feelings (like Vincent's ex is gonna be in it I'm already hating the episode). Ok, you can all hate me now.

honestly when re watching it and analyzing it i can see both sides of the argument, the vincent we know is still there but we are so focused on getting vincat that we are not seeing the bigger picture, dont get me wrong there are still some things in the episode that bother me and i really am not in love with alex but i can more clearly see vincent and his confusion... so i might retract a couple, not all, the things that i said before and just keep watching with an opened mind to what is to come, i think i can now say that i trust vincent and the judgement calls he will make even if the first couple of them are a little reckless.

I agree...re-watching does allow for a less emotional response.
Everyone was just giving their gut reaction to the episode....isn't this the perfect place to vent? Pro Vincent or Con Vincent?

Sorry - after three times, I did NOT have a gut reaction. I was able to calmly watch and just shake my head this time. I did enjoy the last scene more - but still think he should not have accused her of backing off.. that was dumb. How 'bout - "yeah, i can see why you might be a bit freaked, since I just kissed my Ex..."
Nobody is expecting Vincent to be perfect. Just not a jackass. He can still be torn about his feelings and NOT be a jackass. One of the producers (I believe it was Sherri Cooper) said that Vincent will try to be "as honest as possible" or something like that, with Catherine about his feelings for Alex. WTF? Maybe this is to come in the next episode, but we certainly did not see it this episode.
Everyone has their own opinion, and enjoys different things. if the general concensus to this storyline is that it was good, necessary, well written, and well acted - that's great! Enjoy! That's the beauty of this forum... we can rant, cry, cheer, etc. No one is wrong, b/c its their opinion. And if it pisses people off to read the rants or the cheers...there's a simple solution...
Enjoy all!

Also had time to reflect some more after watching the episode 3 times. Maybe my emotions clouded my judgement initially. At first I was so mad with Vincent I refused to vent my feelings on twitter for the whole of yesterday till I had time to calm down. But now that I had time to reflect maybe I was abit harsh on Vincent especially when it comes to that kiss. What else could you expect from a man deprived of any real physical contact for 10 years. He found himself suddenly in a lip lock with a women. I mean she practically jumped on him like a dog on heat (excuse the expression) and he didn't even get a chance to move. And of course once physical contact was made he did what any normal deprived healthy man would do - enjoyed the moment. Just my thought on the kiss.

Let's not forget that he hasn't been intimate with a woman in YEARS so his reaction to the kiss was expected. He'd be DEAD if he didn't like it at least a bit and reacted to it.

Ok, you can all hate me now. Basically, let's be fair to Vincent. I know a lot of women love Catherine and hate Alex. But let's be fair and look at the story here. Catherine is not perfect either and no one is throwing rocks at her. Vincent is torn and he did what I think most people would do, lie. I know that the honorable thing to do is be honest, but he did not. He is flawed and that is something Catherine would have to either accept or she can move on with whoever she wants to. Somehow I don't think she will find that perfect knight in shining armor that would be better than Vincent. Vincent is the one for her, with his baggages and all.
