I love the end of the episode when Vincent tells Catherine the reason why he felt in love with her. It's Soooo romantic. What I didn't catch is what he says at the very end. I understand "Come on" and then what does he say, "Kick" ? Darn my italian ears! Vinc: one thing I've learned is no matter where we end up you gotta keep "kicking azz" Cat: that's not even true Vinc: Oh yes it is.......It OK, it's who I fell in love with.....It's who you are, you never walked away for a fight or who you believe in......It's you norm. HOpe that helps. It was pretty much the high point of the episode. So much out of character for both Vinc and Cat. Not well written for me. Vinc doesn't know how she sleeping? Cat is so interested in solving the neighbors murder, she doesn't care if Vincent get's busted? I realize it was a filler episode, but it could have been done better.... I did like Jt&T Tess is really getting behind her man. cool Is it just me or are we still watching the "Gabe Show"? didn't feel it was the gabe show this episode but i did not enjoy him like i did last episode where i enjoyed him especially in the end and the "what does it mean to be a beast" connotations.

I guess what's bothering me about the episode, is they finally had some down time from being hunted.......and NOTHING happened! Even the affection felt forced...... At least the writers could have had them coming down the stairs together in the morning. lol Maybe Cat needs the danger more than she needs Vinc. What was the writer's message....VinCat doesn't work with the heat off?

I have noticed that for some weird reason I never agree with this fandom haha. I was telling this to Katie. I'm actually shocked like you have no idea. I LIKE the episode A LOT. This is me in my head: "I like an episode of batb ". I honestly feel like crying as stupid as it sounds. You might not understand why but after spending so much time building this forum and promoting a show that I had these huge expectations. Hoping to be a big success. Just to end up not liking it. It's a big disappoint it for me. That's why I'm angry and feel like crying right now. I understand that you guys love it. Like I told Yolie once. The reason why you guys can continue loving it not matter what happened this season with all these characters is because you guys are really batb fans and I'm just a KK fan so I understand your passion for VinCat, why you wish every episode to be about them kissing, making out and saying that they are meant to be, that they are epic, etc. I get that. For me I wanted more. I understand Catherine and Vincent belong together, I have nothing against they ending up together. That's why it's called Beauty and the Beast. However I wanted a real story to be built with real background not just let's kiss and have sex just because we are meant to be. I wanted stories about the other characters because they are just as important as the main characters. For me it wasn't never about KK having more screen time. I just wanted a good show for more people to like it. Like I have nothing against the whole 20 beasts at the beginning of the season (i know they were less than 20 beast but it felt that way). I actually gave it a shot trying to understand the whole point of it but getting nothing at the end. I got to the point where I even dislike Cat. That's what like the worse for me for obvious reasons. That's why I am the way I am with this show. I know this only an episode and I don't expect anything from the show anymore. I just watch it because I want to see her act but tonight it really shocked me. Guys, I even LIKE Vincent . I didn't see it as a filter episode. I totally understood why it happened. When the episode began and they started talking about leaving. I thought: "again with the same talk". They even sounded like first season when they wanted to go and live in the country and all of that so I thought they were using the same plot. But then it got good. I enjoy VinCat, they were as real as they can be and I'm not talking about being this faking couple. I mean them trying to figure a way to stay together in the open. They were honest with each other like they used to be in the first episodes of season |. It was fun to watch. Both of them were so funny. When Cat was looking from the window and wanted to know more about the crime scene. That was hilarious. She just couldn't help herself . Then Vincent all mad because she didn't listen to him haha. Vincent talking to the fist. (That was a fish, right? I'm not sure haha). That part was hilarious Cat throwing the paper at the poor bird. Cat checking crimes online. They trying to pretend they were married in from of the neighbors. All of that was so funny. And one the things that I love about this episode. Yes, I love it. Because that's what I wanted to see. Like I said I understand it's VinCat and they are supposed to be the main thing of the show but what I hated about this season was that everything that matter was only Vincent getting protected not matter the consequences good or bad. But in this episode Catherine said something that I love. Something which made me love her in season 1 and this show too. This line: "We have to get involved. It's called justice. If we don't, then what are we, Vincent? We're just two people onn the run that only care about ourselves" It's true. That's how they were in season 1. From the pilot. Murfield was after Vincent but there was this woman that needed help. He didn't care and tried to save her not caring if he got caught. That was the show that I used to like. They can still love each other but still care about the rest of the world. I also like the JT and Tess. And believe me I don't want to like Tess (I won't say why because it has nothing to do with the show). But I did enjoy those 2 together. They were fun to watch 2. In all honestly they look better eating gummy worms than Vincent Gabe was awesome as the evil guy that is losing his head. He is getting crazier. The scene with those 3 was really good. Sadly I feel the way Gabe is acting will only end up with him getting killed. I don't want then to kill him because I really enjoy Sendhil as the evil guy but I'm sure most of you will be happy about it. I think the point of the episode and why for me it wasn't a filter episode is that they wanted to show if VinCat could be themselves pretending to have a normal life and it showed that they can't. They are not them if they do that. And also to show to the fans and to them that the rest of the world matter too. For the ones that dislike the episode, don't worry I'm sure next episode will have the vincat that you love .

After the hug and peck (short of a kiss) Vinc puts his arm around Cat and says "Come on...Kid" Happy to help, if is was in Italian I'd be totally lost. LOL It's hard believe but I try my best to study because I love english. Thank you, I would have never undersood "kid"!! But what does it mean in this context I don't understand. The way Vinc used it is a term of endearment. I would have preferred, "Come on .....honey, cutie or lover. =) Yea, I know Vinc doesn't think she's a goat. LOL (kid's a term for that.)

^^ I didn't think they were poorly written. I've seen worse this season. yes that is fine, and we cannot all agree every single time. my point in answer to your post was that i was judging this episode as a viewer, not as a vincat fan. i have really enjoyed episodes that many fans did not enjoy, such as episode 7 and 8 for example

I didn't mind the episode, but then I watch this show for the actors, ok well mainly KK, but I also enjoy the other actors' performances as well. I thought KK looked particularly lovely in the opening shot gazing at the bird, during the breakfast scene and at the window watching the police, I laughed at her delivery of the "Veronica has a few questions" line and JR's exacerbated response of "Catherine . . . Veronica . . dammit" and just before when his voice sort of rises and breaks as he says, "See . . . cop!!" Also liked the way Sendhil played Gabe at the beginning when he greeted Tess just a touch too happily, showing Gabe's growing disconnect, but it sort of looked to me like Nina was going to laugh or trying not to at the end of that scene.
However, there were a number of things in the episode that just didn't make sense story wise or character wise along with some editing or continuity errors. First after Cat flips Vincent, somehow all the leaves on the back of his jacket miraculously disappear seconds after he stands up, and then when VinCat are talking to Agent Knox, I swear the white chair behind Catherine is there from the VinCat viewpoint but not Knox's. Then there was Cat seeming to forget how to pick a lock when they went to the hotel where Jack was killed. If they wanted to give Vincent an excuse to break the door, they could have had Cat starting to pick the lock and then Vincent hear someone coming. And why have Cat run away from the car after the crash when the deputy was knocked out? That didn't make sense. If they wanted to have her have to run or get shot at, they could have had the deputy wake up when she was trying to get his cuffs and then he could try to shoot her, etc.
And unless there is some reason that things have to have unfolded in two days, I don't know why they didn't either show them doing things together in the house more or if they didn't want to do that for some reason, at least say that a week or two had passed and that's why Cat would now be up before breakfast on her laptop or Vincent would be lounging on the couch trying to find something to watch on TV instead of being with Cat doing the dishes. I don't think the theme of VinCat not being able to stay out of trouble or not being able to handle "normal" would have been lessened if a week, two weeks or a month had even passed. And is there some reason Vincent can't even put on some fake glasses or shave his facial hair? How long would it take JR to grow that goatee back?? And then having them walking around on a street at night back in NYC??? That said, these things certainly aren't new to this episode or even this season but I still enjoyed the episode.

Just watched it online and quite honestly not one of my favourite's Catherine really annoyed me becuase she never gave it a chance and did'nt seem to care what Vincent wanted or how he felt so when he was trying to do her breakfast I was with him when he turned and said ' I give up' and what I would have liked to have seen was her going after him but no nothing so I was quite disappointed with this episode once again a chance missed to give us even a couple of romantic vincat moments, JT and Tess were giving off more passion than what Vincat were and that I have a feeling is where the show's direction is going to go nothing against Austin or Nina. Gabe once again I could have serioulsy he bugs me more and more each week the only good thing with this episode that for the first time in a long time he wasn't in it all the time but he spoke and tried to justify why he was doing it was just stomach churning for me he really is stupid enough to think that Cat will have anything to do with him after this, loved how JT was having a go at him though and wish that Tess would have let him carry on becusae he deserved it, and again with the line that Vincent will only get worse and turn on Catherine is getting really really old the comment about Reyonalds did'nt suprise me as I'm sure that they are working together and I guess it was a way of bringing Reyonalds in for the last two and to do with the mythology which quite honestly is still missing and deserved to have more time spent on it rather than Gabe's obsession with Catherine it's beyond storkarish it's down right creepy. Catherine's place is becoming like Vincent's houseboat in that anybody can walk in it seem's she really needs to change her lock's considering the size of the rat that went into the place. I have accepted that we are never going to get the Vincat heat that we got from AMP so I say R.I.P. for that side of the show becuase the writer's they have now have no idea how to write Vincat properly and that does make me wonder if that's why Stuard tweeted that they are reaching out for some of the people from season 1 to come back becuase cheesy or not that Vincat were hot.
I also had to chuckle to myself to how Vincent can again once walk the street's of NY and nobody realizes that he is the wanted fugative dark or not people still watch the news that bit did'nt make sense. For me to Jay doesn't seem to be into the kissing like he used to be and it show's something just seem's off. Would I watch it again I'm honestly not sure even with much less Gabe in it there was still something just missing for me they had the chance to give us some real Vincat gem's even the hugs were all one sided on Vincent's part despite what Catherine said she clearly for me did'nt want to be there despite what she said to Vincent she showed him little affection and was more concerned in sticking her nose in what was going on in the street. So rating wise for me it would be a 4/10 maybe if I chose to watch it again that might changebut as it stands that's my number for now. It will be interesting to see the ratings but also the reviews from the various people that review as I have a feeling that they won't be good I really hope I'm wrong. Sweetrosie, when did Stuart Gillard tweet that they're trying to reach out to fans from Season 1? Because I'd like to respond to him. I LOVED Season 1 and I had about 18 friends watching it. Most of them left during and after Alex arc. Only a few stayed for SEason 2 but stopped watching after the love scene with Gabriella and when Vincent and Tori kissed.
So if the writers think they can get Season 1 fans back, they can keep dreaming. The only way my friends and I would start back watching and supporting BatB again is if they ERASE Season 2 and start back from where SEaosn 1 ended. SEason 2 has been garbage in MY opinion. The fact is, all the crap in season 2 is now part of BatB 2012 history......so we have Vincent cheating on Alex with Gabriella, Vincent cheating on Catherine with Tori, Vincent pushing Catherine to the ground, CAtherine and GAbe having a relationship, Catherine cheating on GAbe with Vincent and many more.......So if Stuart and others think that those who loved Season 1 and left, would want anything to do with SEaosn 2 and Season 3, they're being very unrealistic. They need to read people's feedback.

I stand by my opinion at half time. I liked it! If anyone wants, feel free to throw tomatoes at me. Just make sure they're nice ripe ones as that's how I like them!
I do have to disagree with those who say that Catherine & especially Vincent were out of character. This was the first time that they were completely out of their element. Vincent has been in hiding for 10 + years & he seemed to go with the flow more than Catherine. He tried to "stay in character as Tim" but I saw so many Vincent mannerisms. eg: talking to fish while eating cereal [remember the granola bar breakfast at JT's] & trusting Catherine's hunch about the neighbour's death. He just deals with things differently than Catherine. I feel she quickly realized that it's not that easy to abandon her life or herself & take on a different persona. No matter where you plant her, she will always be a cop! It's in her nature & she cannot leave things be. If she feels there is a wrong, she has to correct it. Because they truly love each other, given time [& no murdered neighbour] they could build a new life in a new place!
I really liked the JTnT segment! After 10 years of JT being joined to Vincent's hip, I expected him to have a difficult adjustment! Tess showed understanding & sympathy for his feelings & with kindness helped him come out of Vincent's shadow. I feel they both realized how fortunate they both are to have each other. And how they complete each other!
IMO, this was not a filler episode! It continued the "Who am I" theme of this year, for Vincat & JTnT. As such, I really enjoyed this episode. Yes, I would have liked to see some Vincat loving but I can't always get what I want! And I got other good stuff that I wasn't expecting. Back to the Rainbows & Unicorns!
