Ok, here goes my review, which will be fast for 2 reasons: 1st. I don't have too much time 2nd. I agree with everything anapi -season3baby :) said and the gifs she used!!!! lol I just want to point out few things more... In this ep I could totally see Vincent from s1 but improved (aka Vincent 3.0). His vulnerability, insecurity, he is more relaxed and sweet than the robot we saw in first part of s2... I felt all characters were again themselves!!!!! Thank god! I also like a lot that support characters are going to have their own storyline. First because it gives more quality to the show and second because it might help with ratings? (a girl can hope) I was pleasantly surprised by scifi effects. Quite cool! I enjoyed absolutely ALL convos of the episode. They are more mature and still keep some lightness and fun (especially coming from Heather and JT and his especial sense of humor!) I was very touched feeling the bond between Vincent and JT. They are like in s1 again! Vincent is full back (sorry I repeat myself) I found very poetic and totally intentional the scene when Catherine is trying to stop Vincent from killing the "bad" guy. I think they did it on purpose, to show that, this time, their love is strong and Vincent would not give up. It totally worked for me. Loved all the scenes at the hospital. From the welcome from the sharp nurse (omg! poor vincent!) to Vincent using his beastly senses to diagnose the injured agent... I mean... everything! About hot/romantic/cute/AMAZINGLY CRAZY IN LOVE scenes: first one wow wow, the fight, omg! loved it! how good actors are KK and JR? the convo at the boathouse when V tells C "I will always want you that will never change" be still my heart!!!!! and well, THE end scene... that was just a master piece of romanticism: simple, deep, full of emotions, the perfect amount of words... and the stares... oh my their facial expressions! How vulnerable was Vincent in the proposal? He was not sure at all about C's answer! you could totally see it in his face while he was kneeling in front of her and asking her to marry him!!! and how lovely KK performed the surprise, realization and then emotion of the moment!!! LOVED KK laughs! EVERYTHING about that scene is just perfect. How they kiss, V's face while he kisses her, the second time he asks her, just to be sure, THE HUG!!!!! amd what about the song!?? PEEEERRRFECT AGAIN! Well, I will just say I cry every time I watch the scene... The post was supposed to be short... but hey, it's my first review after one year (or bit less) and of one of the best episodes of the show (still struggling to decide if it is THE best episode yet... I will check with my BB to see if they convince me in one or other way!) Can't wait for the airing in USA and read everyone else's opinions! So far I see we all agree yay! Also a bit scared about rating news on friday.. oh my, ups and downs of a beastie... but I wouldn't want it otherwise!!!!!!! I couldn't Said it better.

Ok now rewatched . I underline all that I said before ... For me the opening and the end scene have such a great chemistry it feels like the chemistry between K and J grow up. In the whole ep you can feel the VinCat love even in their fight. The convo between Cat and Heather is matured and cute. I like the expressions in V and Cat faces. This life he lives now is in a way new for ihm and in every scene you can see the vulnerability of V. I love when V tells Cat that he will always want her that will never change - how strong their bond now is. Both Cat and V know now how strong their love is. Really a Great ep. And oh did somebody knows the Song in the proposal scene, I couldn't get it out of my mind. LOL ed sheeran one www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xf7HjuaEHys

What a boring repeated drama Vincent centric episode. Can't Cat story lead this show for once! Sexist! Why do you continue to put yourself through such torture by watching a show that you don't like? There must be better things to do with your time. Please don't convince him to stop watching or stop posting to express his love and support for the show --- if he really watches ! because sometime i wonder if he watches the show at all ! or if he watches the same show we watch ! otherwise how an episode when Cat made the move to accept those agents offer and be the one who believes that they are meant for something bigger and convince V of that , then be the only reason that keep V's humanity -- how all of that could consider a V centric when its always Cat's moves and decisions and V always follows ?! maybe the centric he meant is a show without V at all ?! then it won't be Cat story leading the show ( because its already her story that leads the show ! its their story together , their destiny and crossing path and fate , its BEAUTY AND THE BEAST ) it would be Cat has her own show alone ! it would be only the beauty without the beast ! yeah not going to happen ! because simply its impossible no matter he or anyone else says in this matter ! ---- but i really like him to keep posting the way he did for 3 years now because now it hits me that he is our luck talisman it may sound crazy for me to say that but i just keep remembering how after one of his big comments and announced his wishes for the show we got a very good news for us the beasties the awards , the renewal for the third season when it was really a long shot and the renewal for the forth season even before S3 starts ! --- so who knows maybe if he makes it big this time we would hear the news of S5 before we finish watching S3

I still have not seen this episode yet, which SERIOUSLY grieves me greatly. Sigh. Thursday CANNOT come quick enough.
But I HAVE to respond to early posts that I have read AND defend why I believe the scene so many of you are talking about IS so important to 301.
The scene: Cat talking Vincent down from his Beast Side. NO, this is NOT a reflection of Vincent failing to show he has learned anything. This is actually the BACKBONE OF THE WHOLE SERIES--the theme that "we are better TOGETHER than we are apart," something Vincent himself has said to Cat.
Also, this scene FINALLY puts to rest the DEMONS OF SEASON 2 and the idea that Cat is ANYTHING less than Vincent's FIRST CHOICE. (And also is the final explanation of WHY Beast-Heavy Vincent chose Tori in Season 2 over Cat. ACK--just makes me nauseous typing those words!) In Season 2, we get ALPHA PREDATOR Beast Vincent--you see from his tracking skills how Vincent just ZONES in to the HUNT. He is totally into the LUST of the hunt AND THE KILL! His Beast Side is ALL about total dominance over his prey!
In other words, for Vincent, his Beast side is like a drug addiction--the more he does it, the higher he gets AND the less his reason and rational sane side can control or even effect him when he is "in the moment" of the HUNT. ADD TO THAT the fact that Tori AMPS up his Beast powers and side AS WELL AS taking away his REMORSE for said acts of the hunt. The way Vincent's eyes glowed when he came into physical contact with Tori was like the high of an addictive substance that Vincent THINKS he can control but can't ESPECIALLY when he lacks a REASON to fight. So Tori hypes up Vincent's lust for revenge and NEED for the hunt to end in death over Agent Reynolds that causes Vincent to make the choice to kick Cat to the curb because she reminds him of all the reasons that he must fight for his humanity.
But Vincent, upon having made his own mistakes is able to, in turn, talk Cat back from her own bad choices while under the influence of Gabe in episode 215. Vincent REMINDS Cat that the ultimate reason WHY Sam needs to be stopped is BECAUSE he is hurting innocents and NOT just to capture and prosecute Sam (in other words, Cat was becoming like Beast Vincent--her lust for the hunt made her IGNORE the plight of the victim). So Cat and Vincent ACTUALLY BRING EACH OTHER BACK whenever the other needs it. All by REMINDING the other person of THEIR OWN INDIVIDUAL morals and values AND emotional growth. THAT is EPIC LOVE BABY in there being a need to TRUST and RELY on the other person to KNOW YOU BEST and to REMIND YOU of all the reasons WHY you need to fight to make the world a better place.
So Cat being able to talk Vincent down from his Beast Side in 301 just SHOWS how 1) even his beast-side responds to the Epic Love of His Life and that 2) Cat is AND ALWAYS WAS his FIRST CHOICE and the reason for his battle to be the best version of himself because he recognizes that 3) they are better TOGETHER rather than being apart.
Vincent can no longer imagine his life without Cat (and vice versa). They are building a life TOGETHER, and Vincent now responds to Cat on an INSTINCTUAL basis as well as an intellectual basis. So his Beast responds and calms down to her pleas, because he would rather be with her than respond to the temporary and ULTIMATELY UNFULFILLING lust of the hunt. Cat now appeals to ALL of Vincent, rather than just his "human" side.
And Vincent's response to Cat is based on far more than lust but on the need to be a part of her life henceforth in every way he can and in every facet of his life. Meaning, decisions are made on an "us" basis and not just an individual basis. And his PASSION for her responds on every level to her, and hers to his in return. This shows VINCENT'S TRUE EMOTIONAL GROWTH in being able to proceed TOGETHER with Cat, both in his proposal AND in his ability to respond to her when he is at his most fragile or controversial.
So this scene in this episode is SO NECESSARY to show the progress of EPIC LOVE. And to really show that anything previously in Season 2 that I CHOOSE TO NOW FORGET happened BECAUSE Vincent couldn't HIMSELF articulate WHY it was so important to fight for the better version of himself. He now has Cat to remind him when he most struggles, just as She can count on him as well. They will choose to move forward TOGETHER and fight TOGETHER. They NEED each other for happiness and to find the best version of life open to them.

And DAN, based on all I am hearing about this episode, it sounds like CAT is the actual catalyst for Vincent's growth. She is the end-all, be-all of his existence, and he responds to her. His Alpha Beast side capitulates to her and recognizes what she gives through her love, her passion AND her morals and values. She makes him fight to be the best person he can be.
And Cat is the reason for Vincent's being dragged back into a fight that he originally would NOT have chosen on his own. So Cat seems to be the light through Vincent's darkness or, at the very least, keeps him from just isolating himself and her from the world. And Cat is able to hold her on in the fights and never backs down, especially when she knows she is in the right. Yet, she is able to be a Big Sister in this episode and show her sweetness and devotion. So I see this episode being as much about Cat as about Vincent or any other of the characters. Cat truly seems to be the Motivating Force in this episode, at least from what the comments are saying. I will know for myself on Thursday.
So this is GIRL POWER at its best! This is a woman who will NOT back down from a fight that she believes she is MEANT to fight, even if it doesn't necessarily suit her beloved. She will not be held back from doing something she believes in, even if it will cost her. And Vincent is INSPIRED by her actions to join in HER fight. So Catherine's roll continues to be something that is inspirational to me, as she fights for what she morally believes is the right thing to do to better the world. The man has to come around to HER way of thinking! What better legacy for other females than that?

I've just watched the episode and I didn't read your comments yet, but I have to say two things: 1) I LOOOOOOOOOOVE the new/old Vincent. He is soooo sweet! And I love to see his weakness again... 2) Jay Ryan is a really amazing actor!!!!!

And last nod to the stills released previously from this episode. The JACKET that Cat appears to be wearing is THE SAME ONE from episode 215, which is highly symbolic to me.
In 215, Cat is surrendering unknowingly to her own beast (or Gabe) side, if you will. She becomes all about the "hunt" to stalk and capture Sam, all for the glory of Gabe prosecuting him. It takes Vincent in the car quietly reminding her, "what about the victim? How are you going to help him" to remind her that she has forgotten about the whole HEART and reason for the fight: to protect the innocent victim being experimented on. For the first time in ages, VinCat truly FIGHTS TOGETHER in this episode. And Vincent saves the victim NOT to prove himself to Cat but BECAUSE IT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO. And Cat sees that the man she loved from Season 1 is TRULY BACK.
And let's not forget, said jacket, while being the hot leather jacket Cat wears during the entire episode, it is also the one Vincent PEALS HER OUT OF in that final scene where they TRULY get back together and indulge in all their hot passionate love making (which I was once again deprived of seeing on film. I know, I know. Network television and all that. Can't we just shove all those Standards and Practices people into some small room and get them to film an episode like a cable show? Sigh. A girl can DREAM.)!
So Cat and Vincent finding their way back together episode from Season 2 featured THAT JACKET that Cat is wearing in this episode! Shows to me the underlying THEME that VinCat recognizes that they SHOULD 1) fight together for the common cause of helping others being experimented on the way they did in 215, 2) reminds us that they figured out THEN that they are better together than apart, and 3) that Vincent SHOULD peal her out of said jacket as SOON as the battle is over!! GREAT THINGS for me to be reminded of! LOVING THAT JACKET and ALL it represents to me!! (Now rip it off of her Vincent!! HeeHeeHee! ODE TO THE BANANA REPUBLIC--oh how long since I got to type those words!!)

Amazing how I CANNOT stop talking about an episode that I have yet to see!
I LOVE in the clip of Heather and Cat how Cat is just DRAWN to looking at a potential wedding dress for herself. Shows that no matter how much she may deny wanting to already be up and married to Vincent, she really DOES know and want to be permanently affixed to his side for life. And that she is obviously JUST as nervous and afraid that Vincent is not in the same place as she is.
And I love that the two clearly reach out for one another to resolve their issues rather than just stick to their guns or expect to fight it out as in early Season 2. Both are clearly bonded long-term and expect to resolve their issues together.
I also LOVE the nod to previous seasons regarding Vincent's growth towards more and more romantic overtures regarding Cat BUT knowing when just being in the moment is actually better! We saw in Season 1's Valentine's Day episode how Vincent originally makes fun of JT making origami roses for his then-love and telling Vincent that he had to "woo" Catherine. So Vincent goes with standard roses, which Cat lets Tess have, then to candy, which Cat lets Tess eat (since Tess argues Catherine's beau clearly DOESN'T really know her since he gave her the very kind of chocolates she doesn't like!). Then Vincent gets into the whole idea of doing something Cat will HAVE to notice and hires a Flash Mob, which clearly DOES charm Cat. When Cat and Vincent FINALLY FINALLY KISS for the VERY FIRST TIME, it is AFTER Cat has just told Vincent that SHE DOES NOT NEED ceilings and walls but JUST needs him. So that kiss is so POWERFUL on the roof because it comes after declarations of love and that just being WITH THE OTHER PERSON is enough, NOT the scenery!
Fast forward to their first anniversary when after a fight, Vincent smashes to bits the "celestial candle" which he had gotten Cat. First, he had to have put A LOT of thought into said gift that RESPECTED Cat's family heritage, as her Mom was said to be part of the "celestial heavens" when she was murdered. So when Vincent couldn't put the candle back together, he spends AGES in hanging ALL THOSE STARS AND LIGHTS on the roof, to create a "celestial sky" for Catherine. Which was symbolic of how she WAS his Guiding Star and Guiding Light to find his way home! And the roof became the place where they FINALLY acknowledged loving each other once again and being back together in 216. So the roof remains EVERYTHING to them, even though it is the source of one of their worst moments as well--still shows how they MADE IT THROUGH that turbulent time to bring back what was once upon a time perfect.
So you have Vincent going ALL OUT in this episode to find the PERFECT proposal by OTHER'S STANDARDS that would occur in some restaurant. It will be all FLASH and show. BUT we all KNOW how Cat NEVER liked stuffy restaurants anyway--that was one thing even GABE knew! So the fact that the Proposal occurs ON THE ROOF and FROM THE HEART with Vincent saying WHY in the MOMENT they belong together! SWOONWORTHY! And shows that it is NOT all about the surroundings and setting the scene BUT is all about what is from the HEART and IN THE MOMENT. And THAT is the proposal Cat would have MOST WANTED anyway! Something just so "them."
I SO NEED THIS FREAKING EPISODE NOW!!! The writers CLEARLY saw that they had TO MAKE IT RIGHT with the Beasties!

I will have to say that what I STILL anticipate loving MOST about this episode is that we can now all see that Catherine APPEALS TO VINCENT'S BEAST SIDE as well as his Human Side. In Season 2, Tori was supposed to be the character that appealed to his Beast Side, as if the two sides of his nature would not BOTH be drawn to Catherine. That INFURIATED me. It implied that Epic Love was NOT epic love and that somehow Catherine was something less to Vincent than Beastly Lust. I didn't think the writers/showrunners/Brad Kern could EVER come back from that.
So I LOVE that Vincent's Beast Side responds to Cat! It shows that she really IS what he loves AND lusts after, BOTH beast-side and human-side. Just says that even on that basest of levels, the Id or instinctual caveman/beast primal force RESPONDS most strongly to Catherine, EVEN over his own instincts. And that his reason and intellectual side AS WELL AS his emotional and sympathetic-to-the-plight-of mankind side. Catherine is the answer to ALL the sides of his being and allows him to vest in the fully-actualized individual side of himself that Vincent most strives to be. Which was WHY he wanted to be a doctor in the first place--a calling to help others. He loves Catherine for everything she is, not just her surface beauty. And Catherine will risk everything and show her most vulnerable side in order to plea for the return of the man she loves, the man she KNOWS Vincent to be. EPIC LOVE BABY!!
So I NEEDS me that SCENE in the worst way of Cat being the LOVE and Guilding LIGHT that pulls Vincent back from his inner angry kill-hungry Beast side. NOTHING competes with Epic LOVE--can't find ANYTHING wrong with that message!! WHOHOO!! THEY'RE BACK BABY!!
(Oh for a link to this episode that wouldn't crash my computer and lead to these adds that keep popping up on my office screen--I'm REALLY going to be in trouble for trying to get that episode early! Sigh. COME ON THURSDAY!!)
