I was thinking... there was an incredible discussion happening in the "Operation Fake Date" spoiler thread. Both sides of the debate were volleying back and forth intellectually, and then it got a bit rough and some moderating had to be done. Then I had to post an admin note, reminding everyone to stay on topic.
However, I hate the feeling that some actual, great discussion was happening a few pages prior, and it got stopped in its tracks. I like the spirit of this post (this is only one small part of the post) :
So, I would hope that everyone here can at least welcome the guy's perspective offered and if you disagree, then let's have a rousing DEBATE!! I love to hear other perspectives!

The "Operation Fake Date" thread does need to pretty much be about that ep, those spoilers, etc.
SO, welcome to THE EVERYTHING THREAD. By "everything", I don't mean everything in life like your favorite band or your next vacation. We have other sections of the board for that. I mean, discuss any and all eps - past and future, spoilers, the direction of the show, hopes, fears, frustrations, the actors (NO BASHING!), characters, plot lines: old ones, season 3, whatever! Vincent-centric, Cat-centric, let's hear it! The show is perfect, the show annoys you, the show has disappointed you, whatever you want! And it can go off topic, yes, even if that means discussing your favorite song lol.
The rules of the forum apply here, of course. Be respectful and agree to disagree. If you don't want to discuss this kind of thing, then move on from this thread. Seriously, if that type of discussion bothers you, then don't come in here.
Now, does that mean that disagreeing/controversial opinions can't be expressed elsewhere? Of course they can! We don't have to agree all the time! But when something starts veering "off topic" and getting heated, bring it in here! Discuss it! I loved some of the less frequently-posting fans speaking up in that thread in a respectful way! (Note: this is NOT an "anti" thread or even really a "rant" thread).
What shall we discuss first?

They should. Unfortunately some people tend to bring it to another level. There is lots of JR fans here but also KK, and I think KK fans tend to stay silent cause this board tends to favour JR more. Not my opinion just what I see.
I enjoy them both very much, and think they are amazing actors. My opinion of the Cat centric debate is the show is about their love story and obviously Vincent will have a bit of a bigger storyline as it's about them overcoming his beast or accepting it whichever. And every arc that Cat has had was brought into an arc with Vincent but I think the writers are just trying to show us that they are destined to be together. Just my two cents.

I'll start. This part of this post caught my attention: That's why Kristin Kreuk fans like me feel uncomfortable posting here. ^ It makes me so sad that some fans don't feel comfortable posting here. If Kristin fans want to see more Kristin or more Catherine-centric eps, shouldn't they be able to say as much? Thoughts? It makes me sad too. I know what Stephy is feeling and what several KK's fans are feeling. It's not like I want only KK fans posting. I want it to be equals. Funny I created the forum and I stopped posting here for a while (I don't think anyone notice  ) in part because like I've mentioned several times, the show disappointed me too much but also because of the way this forum has become. It's like no one could say anything bad about the show, Vincent and Catherine. It was all ok if you bash Gabe and Tori but you could not say that you dislike the show or that you want more Cat's stories because you became the enemy of this forum. Trust me I know that this site is here to support the show. I built it. It took me days, days where I didn't even sleep so I know how important the site is. But saying you dislike the show, complaining because the stories suck or wanting more stories of an specific character than other character, it doesn't make you less of a fan. It makes you passionate about a show. I see how you want this site to grow up, to have more members but how come it's going to be a bigger forum with more members? If every time someone posts something that you don't like, you feel like it's offensive, you take it too personal and you feel like they are bashing the actors. Trust me I'll know when someone is bashing an actor. That's something I'll never allow. These actors won't go through what KK went through. That's a promise I made myself when I created this forum. There were several members that used to post a lot before but since they kept posting that they were not happy with the story and other members kept complaining about them. They left. So there goes the bigger forum. If you want the ratings to go up, you need to understand that you need as many fans possible. Not only the Vincent fans or the ones that only support VinCat. You need everyone, even the Gabe fans. Trust me when he dies, because the way I see it he will. You will say bye to Sendhil's fans too. Sometimes I wonder if it was our rules that made the forum the way it is. I asked Katie once: "Is our fault? Was it our rules?". Not that I'm changing them but still makes me wonder. |

But it's still not unreasonable for KK/Cat fans to want something more about her. (not that you were saying that) But saying you dislike the show, complaining because the stories suck or wanting more stories of an specific character than other character, it doesn't make you less of a fan. It makes you passionate about a show. ^ Amen. Not everyone who posts passionately is arguing! At least not in a bad way. |

If Catherine Chandler and Vincent Keller made this forum cause of KK why not just dedicate the forum to her and all her body of work?? You know like have a section for Lana...Catherine and whatever other character she played in shows and movies she'd appeared? That way those that truly began coming here solely for KK can feel free to talk about solely her being that she's the main reason why you said you started this forum. I'm not seeing why it's a beauty and the beast solely forum..When I'm fact it's not beauty and the beast you love...just saying. |

Looks like it's very hard to please all party, the complains on all sides never stops. Used to be very fun coming here then when episodes not to liking on all sides ( including me) I get headaches, ulcer etc...it's like a big blob of mess. Seasoned hardcore fans are not so accepting of newbies also, very possessive like they owned the show,actors and characters. One thing that catches my eyes in here is the OVER THE TOP DROOLING & SWOONING. I'm a fan of KK first cause of SV and her neutrogena commercial first time I noticed her lovely face ...I have no clue about JR until I clicked on Enews link on BATB preview thats when I fell in love with BATB/VINCAT, I love them both KK & JR, both good actors in my opinion both gorgeous of course. I do understand also that most love will be towards JR/ Vincent because most members or fans of BATB are women i would say 99%......... that sometimes is KK forgotten. Just my 5 cents. |

Okay I don't want this to come out wrong...but I have a legitimate question.. This is for the curious in me... If Catherine Chandler and Vincent Keller made this forum cause of KK why not just dedicate the forum to her and all her body of work?? ^ Just because the forum was made due to the excitement of Kristin's new project (at the time, BATB), does not mean it is solely for or about Kristin. ^ We have a Kristin Kreuk section. ^ It was created as a BATB forum b/c it's dedicated to Kristin's latest project...and it grew into a cast full of wonderful characters. It did what we hoped - it grew and united fans and we all banned together and got ourselves season 2. Since that time, the fandom has sort of begun to separate itself, when we want everyone to be welcome here. The bigger issue with your last line is that you seem assume I don't like the show, which is not true - unless maybe you were talking about Karen. The other issue there is you're almost saying/insinuating that there isn't a point to a forum for someone who doesn't adore the show completely. You can still be a fan of a show and have issues with it. You can love a show one season and the next season, be wildly disappointed in it. It doesn't make you less of a fan. It doesn't mean the forum doesn't need to exist as a BATB forum. I mean, with that mindset, Karen would just delete the forum entirely. |

It's not just some of the fans,it's the writers.
Vincent and his kill list arc took about TEN episodes early in the season,and how many did it take for Cat to reunited with her dad? Only TWO episodes and it got scrapped up.
Then they hooked her up with Gabe but the episodes were never really about them,Vincent and his redemption party took another FIVE episodes.
Now that they get back together, it's going to-be any Vincent vs the law.
If you took away Cat involvement with Vincent,she'd have nothing.

Let me clarify about not being into the show anymore I was referring to Catherine Chandler who has stated in some of her posts that she isn't into the show like she used too anymore if at all. I understand why some may not continue being fans of the show. .be it cause it went in the wrong direction and some refuse to give it another shot. Either way like I said in an earlier post. .I'm here cause solely of the show ..I never heard of KK or JR before the show. I've heard of Smallville but never got into it...So none of the actors was the reason why I came into the show and this forum. I personally don't think is useless to have this forum cause people like me enjoy coming here to discuss things like I am now ..even if people disagree it is a place where fans and I mean ALL fans...the shows..KK..JR...AB...NL can come and discuss the show..and its actors. I'm all good for discussions..opinions as long as it doesn't get out of hand and people begin arguments for no reason...We have to remember this is a show and the actors are actors..real life is stressful enough LOL..I want to enjoy coming here. I'm a fan of KK first cause of SV and her neutrogena commercial first time I noticed her lovely face ...I have no clue about JR until I clicked on Enews link on BATB preview thats when I fell in love with BATB/VINCAT, I love them both KK & JR, both good actors in my opinion both gorgeous of course. ^ This is an interesting point that's had me thinking. See, previous Kristin fans already loved her, and then so many of them opened their hearts to a new show, a new character (which is normal when an actor you love is in a new project, I know this, obviously), and a new ship. And you'll find several of those KK fans being like, I really began to love Jay! Or Vincent. Or Vincat, or all of the above. I mean, I was one of those people, as was Suzieq ❤️ Beastie and others. And it seemed that Jay/Vincent, not to mention JT, Tess, Joe, Heather were accepted without question. That doesn't mean there aren't ever complaints or wishes or whatever. But I even remember before Pilot being like, "Hm, is this random dude going to be KK's equal?" And guess what, Jay won me over in the pilot, 100%. But it seems sometimes that some of the fans who met Kristin along with Jay, at the start of BATB, seem to get upset if a Kristin fan wants to see more Kristin. How does that make sense?? I mean, the Sendhil fans have behaved admirably. They stepped into the fandom and, of course they want to see more Gabe - they're Sendhil fans from the get-go! Yet they handled Gabe's odd arc with grace, IMHO, just from what I've seen. Yet it seems that Kristin fans can't want more Cat? When it would make perfect sense for Sendhil fans to want more Gabe? Now, I know and agree that this is Beauty AND the Beast - a couple, a team, etc. I have (personally) no issue with them teaming up and sharing equal screen time. I mean, I don't even know or care who gets more screen time. I'm just saying that what is the big issue with Kristin fans wanting a Cat arc/ep/background, etc. that is NOT 100% linked to Vincent? That does not make them "not true fans", Jay haters, Vincent haters or anything of the sort! And what makes Karen post like that, I think, is the irony of that mindset ^ when she built the entire forum based on her support of Kristin. That does not mean we are all here for Kristin only. This is supposed to be a GENERAL forum, so I want to say that I am not okay with KRISTIN fans, of all people, not feeling at all comfortable here. And speaking of Gabe fans, well I pity them if they came onto this site.  |

You think she would spend so much time tweeting for this show if she didn't like it? She says good things about every character, writers and crew and she even mentions the times Cat messes things up. Because Katie actually tries to be objective and tries to enjoy the show. ^^ About that part, Yolie. It's true. If what you are saying is right, I'd have deleted this forum a long time ago. However, I'm not that immature and I dislike irresponsible people. I built this so it's my responsibility to make sure the forum stays how it is. And KK is still in the show. I like A LOT the last episode. I like every character: Vincent, Cat, Gabe, JT and Tess. So I'll keep watching maybe from time to time, I'll get an episode like that. |

^ I never said anyone hated the show..that's a very rough word to use...I said dislike and I was referring to the show on your part...I know reasons why some may not be into the show and I've said I understood cause I do...I'm very open minded and understand that everyone can have their own opinions..likes and dislikes and that sometimes something is so bitter that there no point of return. I get it ..I'm not judging anyone. I just asked a simple question and it was answered.
