I don't know if anyone has already mentioned this but does anybody else see the resemblance of the green gem to green kryptonite. With that being said, I'm wondering if there is an arc occurring that may be similar to a plot line in Smallville. Where the green kryptonite means "STOP" and the red kryptonite means "GO". Rather in this case red kryptonite is Tori (maybe any she-beast), as she was explained to have "amplified" Vincent's beast side and SERIOUSLY effect his behaviour LOL. Then the green kryptonite is the green gem and it stops any beastly transformation. Catherine's ancestor (Rebecca) figures this out and is entrusted by someone or by some group as the "protector" of the gem. She passes this down the Reynolds family line which leads us to Catherine. But somebody maybe Agent Reynolds or someone previous from him had donated the gem to the Russian consulate thinking it was safer with them. Speculations. Speculations. This is all just speculations *sigh*. Definitely, think you might be on to something about the gem being kryptonite like to beasts. What I don't understand is was the gem created to control beasts or was it just a happened upon discovery?? I guess it goes to the roots of how beasts were created. Was it natural evolution or were they man-made? I hope we get more answers. It seems that since they have been around for so many generations, imo it must be more evolution. But then are there more beasts like tori who are most likely born beasties?? If so what is the difference between the beasts? So many questions.... Oh and do you think that's why Vincent always goes off the rails when he is around red heads? Because it is similar to the red jewel? JK, about this part. Unless of course I'm right and then I called it. But in all seriousness there might be a different in the effect of gem colours, maybe serum colors too...

Continuing on from the gem thread. I hope the writers are not going to forget about and about Rebecca Reynolds. Cause first V tells C they have to work together to solve the mystery around the gem (ep Hostages) and now we learn from his own mouth that he took it again when T died and said he buried it where no-one will ever be able to find it. Perhaps it will also be so far buried in the writers memory that it will not be able to resurface. Actually I have to say for all the plot holes and inconsistencies and the much hated love polygons I am still happy to have a show that I love for its sum total rather than its parts and a wonderful forum of friends. It is very difficult to imagine a time when BATB will not be around

I agree it must be more evolution, maybe when the ancestral beasts lived long ago the green gems were around and through evolution and being constantly surrounding beasts it was able to affect beast DNA. Whether or not there are more beasts that are born would be veryyyyyyyy interesting! If they do introduce a new beast maybe he/she will also have been born that way and everybody else in their family and that's how Vincent figures out about his origins? Maybe the difference is that born beasts can beast out voluntarily, to them it might not matter whether or not they're getting an adrenaline kick. LOL there are a lot of questions and I feel like I'm grasping at straws haha. :lol:The red head thing theory is hilarious! I was wondering about the serum too, when they had found it in Gabe's apartment it had already been used but they left just enough to show it was "red". I wonder who used it?

Ok, so I have been very pro-Gabe-is-a-good-guy, but I have been watching 2x13 again and have noticed some things about the conversation that Gabe and Sam have right before the bomb goes, and they say something like (sorry for my English!)...:
SAM: "Frame you? I was just explaining the facts." There is no reason for Sam to lie to Gabe, so that he was down in the dungeon IS a fact. Plus, Vincent did not notice that he was lying and, out of Sam and Gabe, who would be more capable to fool Vincent...? Gabe. GABE: "...now they all think that you are the innocent victim and I am the only one working for Barnes" I assume he means "the only one" out of the two of them. GABE: "... or I am going to tell everyone the truth about you" What truth does Gabe know?
Maybe I am wrong but, after watching this scene quiet a few times, it is not like Gabe is saying that he has no clue of why he is being blamed... It seems that he is actually mad because Sam blamed him instead of being silent about it all...
It has been hard for me to come up to this conclusion maybe because 1) I am like that, I always tend to think good of people, and that they had redeemed themselves and so on and 2) honestly, this plot is way too fast for anyone to follow on a once-watched-episode basis (if that makes any sense).
So I just jumped into the Bad Gabe Ship. We'll see how it lasts...
Have fun Canadian beasties! Still a few hours to go for European and American ones!
