BATB4EVR1, YOU ROCK! LOVE LOVE your positivity! And yes, many of us DO get hung up on comparing the seasons. And frankly, there is a certain bit of unfairness in doing that, PARTICULARLY since Season 3 is to be only 13 episodes long. Means that a LOT has to occur off-camera, quite necessarily, if we are to have plot. (I, however, freely admit that at times I would GLADLY sacrifice plot for VinCat scenes! I DID want that VinCat reunion scene, but there really was no time for it in order to have the whole Bob/Carol thing play out. Still have to take a moment of regret for that.) Thank you for reminding me to just enjoy the ride rather than worry if the build-up will pay off. SHOULD give the writers more credit for having to come up with an overall season arc that utilizes Cat's detective skills and that expensive police station set as well as puts Vincent's humanity at stake. So, with POSITIVITY in mind, WHAT I LOVED about this episode STREAMLINED: 1.) That ENDING scene: LOVE that VinCat ARE establishing new little patterns of being OUT IN THE WORLD together, even if it is just to carve a little time out to have coffee. And that they plan to ROCK THEIR BOOTIES off at a concert as well! And just loved that the world just faded into the background because they were so in-tune and absorbed into one another. AND THAT WAS A GREAT THING! 2.) That Season 3 HAS carried over a positive thing from Season 2 highlighted in 221: the idea that Vincent tames the aggressive little beast within Catherine that wants to run roughshod over everything and lets her be sweet, loving and all the things adorable that I love about Cat. He calls her back from falling into obsession and bleak worry AND brings that joy and lovin' to her! And Catherine, in turn, brings out the Beautiful Soul from the Primal Beast within Vincent. So Beauty and the Beast intwined means that they bring out the BEST and MOST BEAUTIFUL in each other while suppressing those nasty little aggressive tendencies in order to save oneself and others!! AND YOU REALLY SEE THIS THEME in this episode: Vincent remembers THEIR LOVE and can come back from the edge. 3.) Beastie Friendship triumphs and helps Vincent Remember Love. AND JT KNEW Vincent could come back with merely a REMINDER of Cat because their love was THAT STRONG. He had FAITH in his friend and was willing to risk his life based on that. And Tess personally charging off to Bob and Carol's apartment "off the record" in order to back her friend. 4.) JT just was PERFECT in this episode. From his absolute JOY at "playing Vincent" while kicking down the door to Bob and Carol's ("but Vincent gets to kick down the doors, why can't I?" OH JT---heeheehee!) to his willingness to take on ULTIMATE PAIN because he just IS that kind of a guy! NO WONDER Tess admits she loves him, even if she still has to PUNCH him!! That is SO something I could see Cat doing as well!!! So yeah, what was there to complain about after all?? I got a new episode of BATB! Nothing beats it! It was the only thing I watched all week! And it gave me that big ole grin and reason to happily come back to the office (even if I DID have to work each night until after midnight!) in order for breaks with my Beastie Den! Thanks again BATB4EVR1 for reminding me of what was REALLY important (and for playing the part of the ever-optimistic side of Vincent that is convinced it will all work out to my little moody-overly-hyper-obsessed-over-episodes/cases-until-reminded-what-really-important part of Catherine in me!) and helping me find the balance! You are a GEM! alwayscrazedbatbfan, you truly are my Beastie BFF extraordinaire! I absolutely love you and truly look forward to your posts even when you are not too happy. You reveal your heart and I cherish that because I tend to wear mine on my sleeve except during my business hours when I must remain absolutely objective and unbiased. There was so much you put into words here that I felt deeply. I have an urgent meeting this morning but will rejoin the forum later this afternoon or early evening. I sincerely look forward to reading and hopefully responding to more of your outstanding posts. I really hope you are here! Until then

I DID want that VinCat reunion scene, but there really was no time for it in order to have the whole Bob/Carol thing play out. Still have to take a moment of regret for that.) I respectfully disagree with the comment in bold. They could have 'sacrificed' the JT and Tess related plots/scenes in this episode ( and S3 episodes we've seen so far ) to give us our VinCat scenes I crave. I don't watch the show for JTnT. I watch it for the VinCat chemistry and storyline. My issue with this season ( negativity ) is that they are SACRIFICING too much of my beloved couple's scenes to give me something I don't give a flying hoot about. It's becoming the norm this season to have extended JTnT scenes followed by shortened VinCat scenes that are leaving me in dire thirst. It's unfair and I don't like it. I'm not saying we aren't getting ANY amazing VinCat scenes because we've had quite a few but it's NOT enough. I love how they're moving along with their relationship. And I'm not comparing this to previous seasons. I just want more because it's what most of this fandom wants. I could probably count on my fingers the number of people who actually care passionately for the JTnT romance and prefer it over VinCat. So there was NO time for a VinCat reunion scene BUT there was time for JT's call to Tess? Tess lashing out and showing concern over J.T's safety? Tess talking on the phone with Vincent and asking about J.T? Time to show us Tess visiting J.T. at the Gentlemen's Club but ABSOLUTELY NO time for our lead couple? THIS is my issue this season. I could care less about the way they write other couples/characters on this show but don't you ever mess around with my VinCat. Show us the concern VinCat have for one another, their worry about their safety, put them in real danger and show us all their emotions. Don't give those lines and scenes to another couple! I hope this gave you a clearer view of my concerns this season I absolutely agree on this point. I was expecting a big VinCat reunion scene too. But then kind of forgot about it after Carol suddenly stopped her heart. In the interrogation room Cat was telling Carol how "in the end, it will be Vincent walking through that door, not Bob". So they really should have had Vincent rush through the doors, have Cat rush to embrace V, and then Carol upon seeing that, stop her heart in grief. It would have been a much more powerful scene all the way around. A missed opportunity that certainly would have made the episode even better.

I received a complaint from a certain someone that I chopped Vincent's hand.... So here is the corrected version. After a man holding a baby ... nothing sexier than a man driving a car Really? Never knew about that one in all my years of driving. Need to think about how I can use this to my advantage. LOL. In the 301 episode thread, there was a mini discussion going on about Cat's Mustang and other cars she'd driven throughout the series. Other than the BMW X5 in Ever After, which was I assume a loaner car given by the Feds, we've not seen what kind of car Vincent would drive. I correctly guessed that an American made SUV might suit him. His car to me looks like an old model (late '90s?) SUV, perhaps a GM brand. But I can't figure out the exact make and model, anybody know? EDIT: After staring at the gif, I noticed there's no key in the ignition, so maybe he stole it! LOL.

For me, there is nothing sexier than seeing a man I like, in either of those two, with a baby or driving a car .... I literally melt . But if I see, say, Woody Allen (and forgive me his fans) obviously is not the same . So, not all men are sexy while driving, you know

Also, I take back what I said about there being no key in the ignition. After checking my DVR-ed HD version, there is a key. It's a single key with no key chain, which made it seem like there was no key in the gif.

BeastieBoy, if I'm not mistaken, I think many of the new cars offer keyless entry and ignition ... push button start. So no key necessary !!! So maybe Vincent is driving a new SUV .. After all, he's a doctor now .. LOL

After all, he's a doctor now .. LOL Yeah, being a doctor you'd think he'd have a newer car right? But he doesn't. I'm pretty sure the SUV he was driving is an older model, it looks at least 10 years old, maybe older. From the interior and exterior style, I'd bet it's from around the same era as JT's old blue Honda Civic. Anyway, I was wrong about the key. When I checked my DVR-ed video, there is a key in the ignition. It's just an old school single key (not the newer remote type), with no dangling key chain, that's why it looked like there was none in the gif.

Now where to start. I always LOVE it when my fellow Beasties wax eloquent on what they do and don't like about what is on BATB this season!
Now on to the stuff I can't resist or felt should respond to:
First up: Laura.
Whoa! Girlfriend, you REALLY took my words in a way that I SWEAR they weren't meant. You state, "think this is quite unfair that whenever someone has a negative opinion about season 3 gets accused of being hung up on the first season. . ." Darling, I did not mean for you (or anyone else) to feel personally targeted or singled out as being "negative" or bad in any way for an opinion. And certainly DIDN'T mean for you to feel "accused" of anything!
In fact, from some of my own long-winded posts, you will see that I also have discussed things that bothered me about this season. I really wasn't trying to tell anyone how to think or post, as the posts I often love most challenge me to think of what I've seen in an entirely different light. I DO tend to defend my favorite characters rather ardently and voraciously which probably comes from being an attorney. But I take it to heart when I feel I have offended someone or made them feel their opinion was not welcome or appreciated. I am so sorry I made you feel that way, but it was unintentional, and I hope I have made things right.
So just to try to be better understood. I was just commenting that there were many posters, myself included, who might have a tendency to compare the seasons with one another, for better or worse. Wasn't meant as a positive or negative at all but as a commentary on a possible trend in posting styles. Still sorry if anyone took it in a way that implied one viewpoint or opinion over another. (I was actually fussing at my own self for being too negative-sounding at times unintentionally, and I was taking the time to just try to post what I had liked about the episode.)
Just as an aside/passing thought/thinking out loud without meaning--I do think some posters do the comparison thing because of Continuity or Timeline issues---when watching the progression of a relationship such as VinCat's, some (again, by NO means all--AND not meant to come across as positive or negative OR in saying this ought to be the way to do things. NOT my meaning or intent, really. Was just meant casually as thought-provoking commentary to encourage others to post their own thoughts.) tend to want to compare the beginnings of the relationship, the things that "rocked the boat" between the characters, and how the relationship has progressed from the first moment we saw the characters on the screen. No matter the season of BATB, I do hope to see PROGRESSION of the relationship on my screen rather than the two steps forward, ninety steps backwards!
So LAURA, please know I have really liked reading your perspective about looking at an individual season isolated by itself--I have even done that in some of my own posts. Really Truly didn't mean for you to take my words to imply that there is any better way to think or feel about anything. I am happiest when others give me something new to think about, PARTICULARLY in regards to my beloved VinCat!
Next up: ZENA--
If we were to take a poll on this forum as to whether we would rather see a VinCat scene or JTnT scene, I think we ALL know what we'd prefer! That might end up being the most lop-sided poll in BATB history!
I, too, missed that we didn't get the Reunion scene, particularly since JTnT DID get that scene! I was trying to be positive in my earlier post, as some of my other posts regarding episode 304 got WAY too whiney. But I admit, I REALLY REALLY would have loved that Reunion scene!
KK, especially, would have played that scene SO WELL---don't know if you have seen SMALLVILLE, but in one of the first episodes of Season 5 when Clark gets shot while Human and lacking powers and then dies, only to be resuscitated by his dead father through Lionel Luthor, (yeah, only in sci-fi, people!) Clark goes back home where Lana (played by KK) comes to see Clark's parents. And when she sees Clark in the hallway as she comes through the door, PRICELESS!
She (Lana) just rushes to him, crying and hysterical AND ALL THINGS I WOULD HAVE WANTED TO SEE IN HER RUNNING TO VINCENT IN THIS EPISODE!!!! I actually CRIED when I saw that episode of SMALLVILLE, because you could just FEEL Lana's anxiety for her Beloved, her agony at his suposed death, and the relief/LOVE of that Reunion and finding he has survived! So I KNOW that scene would have been powerful in this episode!
So YES EMPHATICALLY, that was a LOST MOMENT that would have been treaured.
(BUT I also admit that if I was a writer for BATB, I would lose ALL PERSPECTIVE on plot and storyline and would probably go for something borderline obscene close-to-porn-without-plot of VinCat scenes with really little or no provocation whatsoever! The AMP scene where The Pierces "We Are Stars" playing has been replayed by me SO MANY TIMES that it is a wonder the dvd still plays at all! Why Oh WHY can't we have more of those scenes?)
CACOSA:
A 1985-ish song for your consideration: "get out of my dreams, get into my car!" HeeHeeHee!
I also never really thought about it until you brought it up but DANG, if that ain't true. . . BOYS and their TOYS (and those that like to APPRECIATE the way them guys just KNOW how to DRIVE like they OWN the place. Like Vincent does, where he just OH SO EASILY touches that phone so reverently as he drives, like a loving caress as he reaches for Cat. . . .)
I mean, Vincent just LEANS so in that car, OWNS THE ROAD and all that. Well, if my mind weren't already in the VinCat gutter as decidedly as it is. . . .
BEASTIE BOY:
And here I thought you were on to something hidden we had missed! Vincent inherits part of that lighting-electricity beast-power and STARTS THE CAR WITH HIS OWN MIND and totally fails to notice it in the process! Power acceleration build-up! Possible barrier to being wtih Cat! My mind and heart racing. . . .
I DO just love the way our beastie-minds go interpreting things! Oh the images we see!
Not sure NOW if I want there to be a key or not!

Speaking of boys and their toys... To any who still give a c.r.a.p about what car Catherine is driving, and really alwayscrazedbatbfan I always think it is she who "drives like they own the road...". She drives with one hand on the wheel and the other on the horn. But then maybe she does own the road since she's a cop, and all these other cars better darn well get outa her way. Anyway, it has been bothering me that she clearly still owns the blue Mustang (she drove Atchinson to the crime scene and he drove it away) but it does not have the Mustang symbol on the front. Curious... My theory? The car became associated with Cat but the product placement deal is no longer in effect. So the producers decided she keeps the car (it's a Mustang, she's the Beast-Tamer, etc.) but we pry the horse off the grill. That's my theory and I'm stickin' to it...

I'm seconding your theory, Bill the beast!!! I also agree with Bill the beast about the Mustang symbol. I checked 201 "Who Am I" and the chrome Mustang galloping horse logo can be clearly seen in the front grill. However by the time of 222 "Deja Vu", the grill badge is gone or blacked out. So Ford must have dropped their product placement deal somewhere during S2, but it was already established as Cat's car and continues to be so. I also noticed there's a rectangular indentation on the steering wheel of the SUV that Vincent is driving in this episode. That rectangle is probably where some kind of make or model logo would go on the steering wheel, but it's removed, due to no product placement deal with the maker. OT, I noticed the same thing with the Transporter TV Series. During S1 the Audi logo was prominently displayed in every episode. Although the Audi A8 has become synonymous with the Transporter (since the 2nd movie), all the Audi logos were blacked out or removed throughout S2. Odd, but I assumed the 2nd season didn't have Audi's sponsorship.
