I too don't think we've seen this room before, but there seems to be a bunch of floral/paisley wallpaper in this room, and there was A LOT of that stuff in Alex's apartment. Given that Trust No One is supposed to be Alex's last ep, my guess is that they're talking to her... maybe calming her down from something since they look a bit tense...

Awwww.... I feel so much better reading all of your posts and the spoilers. I might even be able to watch next weeks episode with a smile (even with the knowledge of more pain to come). And it looks like we WILL get some crumbs of love for Valentine's Day... I really really like the idea of Vincent choosing Cat at the end of Cold Turkey, and then the Red headed She Devil gets jealous, freaks and tries to hurt Cat (or does something really stupid) in Trust No One... shows her stripes (or horns LOL!) if you will... and Vincent sees - but it won't matter b/c he will have ALREADY chosen Cat. Ahhh, if that happens, most (but not all) will be forgiven for this crazy S/L that turned our beloved Beast into a Jackass.... Feeling calm for the first time in 2 days....

I think its totally fine to bash (or praise) the writers.... they after all, are the ones who put this episode together. We should all definitely be respectful of one another here - because we're all Beasties - with our own opinions, likes and dislikes, and I've not seen anyone being disrespectful to one another. Just great, thoughtful dialogues, praise and rants . I too find it very cathartic to express my frustrations over this storyline here. Time heals most wounds, and while I still HATE (i'm gonna keep using that expression) this S/L, the writers could have made it MUCH better (i.e. Vincent could be confused without acting like a complete jackass). I'll also keep saying that there are many other ways to create drama and tension without the addition of a love triangle. To me, that's the easy way of doing it, rather than the creative way, IMO. Another Beastie sent me a link to the episode details for each ep this season (i.e. who wrote it and who directed), those aired so far, and the next 3 upcoming eps. That was very interesting to me. Most of the eps have been written by different people. My least fave ep prior to now was Basic Instinct - found it very dark, disjointed, too fast paced, and had a lot of loose ends. I liked (if not loved) all of the other eps - including the Pilot, which admittedly had some problems. Surprise surprise, the dude that wrote Basic Instinct (and none of the other eps) is the same dude that wrote Seeing Red. The one that wrote Saturn Retuns wrote On thin Ice, and the one that wrote Worth also wrote Cold Turkey. I am clinging to this like a lifeline b/c i really liked those eps, and I am hoping what we saw there (in terms of emotions) will be translated into the corresponding eps. Remember though, that Saturn Returns ended with Cat wistfully waiting for Vincent to come to dinner - so I definitely expect some more pain for Cat in the next Ep. I think we all generally loved Worth (except for the lack of that kiss at the end...) so I am sooooo hopefull that I will CONNECT with the characters in the next two episodes and understand Vincent's turmoil. That, I think, is what was mostly lacking in Seeing Red (similar for Basic Instinct). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beauty_and_the_Beast_(2012_TV_series)Regardless of the Red Headed She Devil, if the vibe of these eps are more like SR and Worth, I may actually be accepting (if not actually like) the next two eps. Also, anyone notice that the promo pics nor the description for Trust No One don't mention Alex at all? That makes me really, really happy, as maybe she'll have a very minor role in that ep. Hey, she was supposed to be around for 4 eps, and that would be the fourth... crossing my fingers (and toes...).

Thanks much! Well, well, well..... prior to this episode, my LEAST favourite ep was Basic Instinct..... seems interesting to me that the same guy wrote seeing Red, which is NOW my least favourite... these are the only eps he's written so far, and not the next three, so that actually gives me some comfort that I might not hate the next few! Thanks again!

Sorry - after three times, I did NOT have a gut reaction. I was able to calmly watch and just shake my head this time. I did enjoy the last scene more - but still think he should not have accused her of backing off.. that was dumb. How 'bout - "yeah, i can see why you might be a bit freaked, since I just kissed my Ex..."
Nobody is expecting Vincent to be perfect. Just not a jackass. He can still be torn about his feelings and NOT be a jackass. One of the producers (I believe it was Sherri Cooper) said that Vincent will try to be "as honest as possible" or something like that, with Catherine about his feelings for Alex. WTF? Maybe this is to come in the next episode, but we certainly did not see it this episode.
Everyone has their own opinion, and enjoys different things. if the general concensus to this storyline is that it was good, necessary, well written, and well acted - that's great! Enjoy! That's the beauty of this forum... we can rant, cry, cheer, etc. No one is wrong, b/c its their opinion. And if it pisses people off to read the rants or the cheers...there's a simple solution...
Enjoy all!

Ok, this one's short...
Watched it a THIRD time. STILL hate it.
When Vincent came back from the hospital, and JT starts talking Clown Fish, how 'bout a "How's Catherine?" to start the conversation... once again, BAD WRITING!!!

I think we'll finally get the emotional background from our Beauty during her sessions with the shrink. it'll probably be thru that that she realizes the walls she keeps putting up to Vincent, and will get her to fight for him, and hopefully come clean on the depth of her feelings. THATs what I'm focussing on for the next few eps, b/c I really think it might be the only part that I will enjoy.
Also, I too am hoping that the I can't compete with Alex remark is made to JT and he fills her in on some insight in the old Valex relationship. Maybe this is where the old/past Vincent issue with drug addition and alex nursing him out of it comes out.... Oh - wait! Cold Turkey - maybe Vincent then feels he needs to return the favour to Alex b/c she's stealing drugs... and probably is addicted too!!!

I was thinking, in Cold Turkey......it seems Cat is trying to go cold turkey with Vincent. Maybe, Alex is involved in drugs and has to go cold turkey from them? You said it Jacki I don't want them to make Alex some kind of "angel" and stealing stuff from the hospital to help others in some clinic somewhere. What are the writer's trying to do.......have Cat tattle on Alex to Vincent and then make Alex out the good guy and Cat the bad jealous cop? Not cool. Yes Suzieq - that same though popped into my head this morning too (obsess much? LOL!). Hopefully THAT's the reason for the "Romantic Getaway" that they take in the ep... Vincent has to get the Red-headed She-Devil (my new nickname for her) away from the temptation of whatever her vice is to de-tox her - I mean, despite his behaviour during the last ep, he's a good guy at heart and would want to help her. She'll probably be addicted to pain killers or something like that and will say its b/c she couldn't handle the loss of Vincent....the whiny, irritating, selfish... oh, sorry... inside thoughts! But if they make her some do-gooder, and Cat looks like a jealous tattler - GAH! Also, they'll be away ALONE, and she will have previously got naked in front of him SO THERE BETTER NOT BE ANY HANKY PANKY that Cat interrupts (eeeeyyyyuuuuuccckkkk!). I mean, he's acting like a shallow-assed creep, who's likely not "gotten any" for like 10 years, so will be easily seducible.... Does anyone know whether the next ep was written by the same guy who wrote the last, or whether it's someone else (preferably a woman who'll maybe soften up the A-Hole Vincent that we saw this week?

The Producer's Preview made me nauseous... Vincent frolicking around with Alex in a public place, when he'd never done anything like that with Cat (nor would she let him, which is part of the problem). He can't get back to his old self with Cat BECAUSE she is trying to protect him, and that's b/c she loves him. They had better make this drug stealing stuff into a flaw for Alex, and not some do gooder stuff. That would really make me puke.
I'm hoping that by Cold Turkey, Vincent will start to see that Alex is not little miss perfect, and start to get a bit sick of a clingy, whiny wimp. Preferably BEFORE he decides to hop in the sack. DON'T GO THERE BATB WRITERS!!!! If you have, that will be the ultimate killer for this show.
Oh, and someone needs to tell Cat that she CAN compete with that red headed she-devil... I wanna see Alex KNOW that Vincent has strong feelings for Cat, and get caught trying to interfere somehow, so she looks like a selfish <edited> to Vincent.

I am just going to put it plainly, I was bored and felt so disconnected with the episode within the first 20 minutes that I just zoned out. I went and did homework while it played in the background instead. My opinion on the character of Alex stands, I just can't connect with the character and I have to place that on the writers. And I felt that Vincent was off, I get that he just had a shock, but I just didn't like this 'version' of him. Again, I understand why some people loved the episode, it was very emotional and so on and I'm happy that you liked it. .......I am just not connecting with the storyline. Guess these things are kind of a hit and miss at times. Unfortunately...this was a miss on my end. ......The writing just totally fell flat and kind of burst my bubble of excitement. I really hope the next couple episodes are better, because if they aren't I'm really going to start getting worried about the future of the show. Yes, yes, yes!! I think this HAS to be why they gave us all these spoilers starting at the beginning of Jan. They NEEDED to build hype for this episode, b/c I'm guessing they figured out they went too far with it. So the writers/producers talked it up as if it was going to be fantastic, with this great chemistry between Valex... I just didn't see it. It was too easy (but just plain wrong) to turn Vincent into an @-hole in order to bring in the drama of Alex. I mean, they could have done that, while keeping Vincent true to his character. Alex could have drawn him in... rather than him chasing her. Maybe they were trying to make it seem like he had no choice other than to reconnect with her - he had to save her after all, but they could have done that simply thru Cat & Tess's snooping on Alex's stalker.... then they would have thought it was Muirfield and he would have had no choice but to reveal himself to her, etc, etc... but alas, that it not the way it went, and Vincent went to her on his own, and lied to Cat about it which was a betrayal to her - so many other ways that could have been played out .... just not cool how they chose to do it.

Why writers would killed their show who's called Beauty and the Beast ? She's not a main character, we didn't even know her existence since this episode, so who cares about her ? She is here to show that Catherine is not an option, she's the real thing he wants. The problem is, the writers NEED ratings to make sure that the show continues into Season 2, and to that end, they've gone with an EXPLOSIVE love triangle. They don't intentionally want to kill the show, they want to increase viewership, and drama and angst sells. Temporarily, at least. So, viewers just tuning in don't have the VinCat history to see how different and wrong this is in comparsion to the previous episodes. Don't get me wrong, I want them to watch, b/c i would like to see a Season 2. So hopefully they watch the drama and angst and fall in love with the show, and go back and watch the previous eps. The problem is, those that love the drama and angst may be disappointed if it goes away (or ratchets down) after Alex is gone - so they won't really be building additional solid viewers. And if they alienate those of us that love the show for what it is WITHOUT the drama and angst, the show will be done, IMHO.

I'll start by apologising for the long post... Ok - I watched the episode again, as a few others have and have to say that I was a lot less emotional, but still pissed off. A bit of time and reflection has made me think of a few other things... Alex is starting to come off as a bit of an obsessed psycho. As much as I want her gone, I don't want it to be b/c Vincent goes "Whoa lady, you're nuts!" And I don't want her gone b/c she can't handle the Beast notion, nor b/c she turns him in to Muirfield. I want him, and Cat, to CHOOSE each other. To decide that they love each other above all else, and that they're better people when they're around each other. Hopefully the new Vince is a reflection of how he used to be around Alex, which is really less of an honorable person that he is now, and with Cat. Some of the scenes that have struck some new insights... the car when Vince tells Alex that he's wanted to see/tell her EVERY SINGLE DAY for the past 10 years... Ok, this sounds like a man tormented, yet NOAT ONCE did we hear of this. If he was so tormented, that would have moulded him into what he is today, and that would have (SHOULD HAVE) been brought into the show before now. You know, somehow, in a convo with JT, or some discussion with Cat.... c'mon, she would have felt for him even more a few episodes ago if she'd found out he had a long lost fiancee and never got to say g'bye (boo hoo). So basically, the way the writers have portrayed this was completely inconsistent with the rest of the story. Nice job BATB writers. The psycho dude after Alex... REALLY? I mean really? Was this necessary? So now Vincent has also saved Alex. Was this done to ensure he continues to "save other people" and keep Cat confused. 'Cause her saying that 10 years later she's still in love with "someone else" is just hokey! I don't care how psycho you are, you're young and pretty and would 100% have moved on. YOUR FIANCE WAS DEAD!! Once again, BAD WRITING! Nice job BATB writers. And it really was an insult for him to have simply kicked that gun to Cat after she was shot at AGAIN. It would have been really interesting if he'd at least helped her up, and would have contributed to the notion that maybe, just maybe, his control of the Beast is getting a bit better. (hmm.... maybe they should start listening to the fans, eh?) Although I think its really cool that JT and Evan are going to work together, um, I think there's been yet another writing f-up. So let me get this straight....JT, the best friend of a Top -secretly genetically altered super soldier who is being hunted by Muirfield, and has supposedly (to the real world) had no notion of what happened to Vincent in Afghanistan, nor contact with his presumably dead buddy, conveniently publishes a paper/book on cross-species DNA (8 years ago)? And this does not result in Muirfield going hmmm.... how does he know about cross-species DNA? And therefore maybe watching him intensely, catching Vincent etc. Oh please..... really really? That last scene on Cat's terrace... is WAS better watching it the 2nd time 'round. Although still pissed off that Vincent accuses Cat of pushing him away, it WAS beautifully done by JR and KK. Great emotion, etc. and I did get teary-eyed the 2nd time (I was simply too pissed the first time). But I still think that they could have brought some recrimination/reprimand about the kiss into that convo. (i.e. as a good reason for Vincent to explore whether he's still in love with Alex). That would have tied it up with a neat little bow. Once again, nice job BATB writers... So BATB Writers, were you doing high-fives in your "war room" this morning for the emotional roller coaster of an episode? If so, those props were completely un-earned. It was a poorly thought out, poorly written episode that will likely come back to "bite you in the ass" as one of the reviews has already stated. I think the next couple of episodes are going to be even more painful than this one. Cat will pull back b/c she's going to have to bail their assess out of jail after the skating rink thing (I think the line in the preview about "I may have to rethink what I've done to protect you" probably comes on the heels of her getting them out of jail, since you see Alex in the ugly green jacket waiting off to the side). And then somehow, some way, Vincent appears to find himself with Alex in her bathroom while she's wearing only a towel, that she promptly removes... WTF? How are they going to go down that road and explain that away. I really hope they'll use that to introduce a little problem for Vincent when he gets aroused.... I mean c'mon, WE KNOW that VinCat will get together, so the writers have gotta introduce something to keep them out of bed for a little while at least.... It would be nice to see Cat and JT have a convo and form a stronger bond on Vincent's safety, since he's out galivanting with Alex as if he hasn't got a care in the world. Both have risked a lot for him to just throw all caution to the wind. And Cat does not have a GF that she can talk to about Alex.... and JT can provide some much needed objective perspective on this. It would be priceless for Cat to mention that she saw Vincent kissing Alex, but he's never kissed her - followed by JT giving Vincent the gears on that.... LOL! I think I'm going to need a strong drink to watch next weeks episode. Forget the wine, we're talking HARD LIQUOR here... not looking forward to it. Already thinking about how nice it will be when Alex is gone...

Did I read somewhere that the release of all those spoilers in the last 24 hours seemed like damage control ... as if the producers were expecting a backlash? Seems likely to me now cause this episode was a complete load ... Who were those characters? ... nobody I had come to know and love in the previous 9 episodes. They had better wrap this up quick. I thought the EXACT same thing when I saw Jay Ryans TV Guide (or whatever it was) story that was realeased today that had sooooo many spoilers in it. I was like, woah, he just gave away A LOT of stuff.... definitely seems like damage control to keep the fans watching b/c we know a bit more of how it'll all turn out. Still, the characters all did a complete 180 this ep, and seemed nothing like themselves. Cat, as a stong, independent woman WOULD have called Vincent out. Like, WTF? Am I your GF or not? but no, instead she's injured, and timid and waiflike (wrt Valex). such BS!

Yes, Evan was my hero tonight. In previous Eps I've always thought him to be a bit needling and cheesy, but not tonight. He was great!
Maybe the writers will see all the negativity and do some quick fixes in the next ep so that we don't all jump ship. So help me, if Vincent puts his hands on a naked Alex, I really think I'll be done! There will really be no going back for me, b/c THAT is so far from redeemable in the context of this show (i.e. a romance) that they won't be able to salvage Vincents honor. Remember BATB wirtiers, there heroes in Romances are never perfect, but THEY HAVE HONOR!!!!!! Vincent did NOT have honor in tonights ep. And the writing did not portray a guy who had previously pined for his lost lady love, tormented by not being able to say goodbye... and so was COMPELLED to see her (and kiss her). BS! The only way they could have salvaged that would have been to have Vincent tell Cat that her nurse is his ex fiancee who he didn't get to say goodby to, and then have Cat encourage him to tell her... but no, Vinnie went to see/tell her b/c he just HAD to...
Stupid show!

So i don't have to retype, here's part of a post i made just after the Valex pic was released... So everyone can say "chill", its BATB, and Vincat will prevail - yes, of course they will - they'll eventually kiss, and it will be an "oh, finally" moment, but if Vinnie starts sniffing after Alex's skirts, the magic and romance that this show has generated will evaporate into Soap Opera trash, and the fans might just lose interest. That would be a death sentence for a fledgling show like this. So hopefully we're all overreacting, b/c if Vincent starts being all "oh, I still love Alex..." poof! He turns into a frog. So, the writers DID go down that path. IMO Vince (I'll just keep calling him that) turned into a frog tonight well, maybe partially. I think that the transformation will probably be completed next week.... likely sometime around the point when Alex strips off her towel.... Grrrr... Other than the first hospital scene, the magic was gone.... Please someone let the redhead in on the fact that Vince loves Cat too... THEN it will finally get interesting - Cat fight (sorry, had to do it...). Read more: www.saveeachother.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=spoilers&action=display&thread=110&page=3#ixzz2IxPlGr63
