I thought the episode was great. I laughed out loud during the V and C car ride/Heather phone call. Loved the V and JT scenes. While I thought last week felt rushed and disjointed, I thought this week they found their footing. Fast paced, but not rushed. Yes, it got a bit silly with V beasting out about flat screens, but I didn't mind. I was entertained. Loved the last scene..."wanna play a video game?" Lol! LOL It's funny how everyone has its own opinion.... For me in 301, it was not rushed or disjointed. On the contrary, it was well built and constructed and all came for a reason and the proposal came so appropriately after the action scene and boat scene, and their discussion...

ArwenFan you're too funny about Heather! I disagree with you on her character, that I find cute and refreshing. And I'm happy she still has an important role in season 3, even if she often annoyed me when she was there at the wrong time and prevented our Vincat "to have fun". But here you have a point, she's the one in her sister's appartement and shower, where she no longer lives, so yes her fault. I haven't read all the comments, so sorry if it was discussed before, but I was just wondering if you think Tess could get the captain position at the precinct? or if it was just JT's fantasy? Don't know how I (and Cat) would like it if it were to happen

i think one of the things that became apparent though in the next episode (302) is that trust is STILL a big issue for both ... amongst other issues as well...they have a long way to go to a) trust who they are and what they want for themselves b) trust that the other person will always want to be with them unconditionally c) cat trusting that vincent will not succumb to his beast side and wil not always need her d) vincent trusting that he will not succubm to the beast side and can be independent/not needy of cat's help in that respect - i think all these issues will be key for the rest of the season and trust will be a repeated theme I don't know what they have in store for the rest of season 3, but knowing how they, as a couple, have always tried to be honest to each other, and how that's what we love about their love story, and how important it is for her and how many time she's said it, and how hurt she'd been when he had lied to her (bathing suit story) I would think that if she agreed to marry him, that means she trusts him already, at least on the major threat that is his beast side. At the end of season2, she had said it so. That's why I didn't find this scene necessary...but you can tell me she had not said yes back then
Now, YES, she will probably (and he will probably) still doubts the other one's unconditional love. That's expected and normal, and that won't annoy me

Haven't found the time to watch again 302...but I'm glad many of you liked or loved it. Im sure the ep will grow on me if I rewatch, and as someone very well said (Vincat 3.0 maybe) it is so good to have new fresh Batb episodes!!

Final Thoughts on this one: 1) LOVED: How Catherine is just waiting for Vincent on the roof at "their" time at the end of the episode, EVEN IF she doesn't expect him to show up. And her deep sadness at thinking he needed the space and wouldn't show. AND she is TRYING to meet Vincent's needs--she asks him if he needs space and if he wants her there at the boathouse. --There is DEFINITE insecurity there--that she may have damaged the relationship irreparably, that he might not want her if some kind of strings/uncertainty attached, concern that the beast issues can't ever be truly behind them. Catherine really worries that SHE IS NOT ENOUGH for Vincent. 4) CHANGES from 208: Cat uses her VOICE ALONE to talk Vincent down. She shot at the LOCK on the gate. Thereafter, the gun was not in play. She gave VINCENT the choice AND TRUSTED that he would make the right one. Which he DID. And she CLEARLY was never threatened personally, as she comes as close to Vincent as she can get. So she never feared in danger for her personal safety. So TRUST is there between the two. And LOVE is there. And PASSION. ALL of that seen in this episode. Things that were MISSING in 208 and show how far the characters have come since then. ---I LIKED how we got to see how far the characters have come since Season 2. They NEED each other now AND FULLY ACKNOWLEDGE IT. The same exact situation played out VERY DIFFERENTLY here because the characters are assured of their commitment to one another. Vincent WON'T risk his relationship with Catherine--he WILL do what he needs to do to preserve his humanity, which he credits HER with providing him the necessary motivation. I totally agree on your 1) I'm always talking about Vincent's character and qualities and hotness etc. but one thing is sure ; I love how Catherine has always been respectful of Vincent, never pushy or insistant or indecent...she truly pays attention to what he might be feeling. Whatever he's endured or done, she's always been patient with him, thinking about him before anything else. That's true love.
About your point 4) now, for me it remains really similar to S2. Yes she doesn't threaten to shoot him, yes there is more trust, after all they are together, they've endured so many things since then....but the fact that she would evoke the "humanity" again, for me it was purely to explain the underlying big issue to potential new viewers as we start a new season. Because if she trusts him 100%, then she should not need to talk him out of this. Actually she would not even need to be there. And I think she does love him and trust him. That's why it was for me the unecessary repetitive scène of 301.

Anna, I agree with you on the fact that after watching 302, I didn't feel that urge to watch again, like I had last week. I want to watch it again tonight, but I'm sure I won't watch it 5 times like 301. Now, I'm more hesitant on the tone of the episode. I mean yes our characters are worth more than discussing if she'll be happy with an awful lamp or a giant TV screen in her appartment, but what I liked was that there were, in spite of that underlying important questions, like when he didn't want to admit his "primal issues" and she was wondering if he had changed his mind. I guess that talks to me, because even if they love each other and are engaged, I think in any relationship, you always have these doubts, and I could relate to Catherine here. Same as when she had this doubt on the boathouse. That is touching...that's one of the lovely thing in seing a love story on screen. I'm sure they won't play the funny side very long, and it was okay here, didn't sound like a farce to me...moving in together is new and stressful usually, and add that his new issues, it was understandable that Vincent was weird. Honestly it was an okay episode but I hope we'll get more of Vincat deep and true connection in next ep...

Wached it very quickly after I found it, and while having breakfast, etc...so no fully concentrated. I'll watch again tonight. For me too the Heather peck was not an issue, in France we RARELY if not NEVER hug! we cheek kiss, so normal Their were some funny moments, Vincent made me smile a few times. And he's so naturally talented, whatever he has to play!!! About their moving together, that's just normal adjusting, her being her expected woman when a guy comes in with all his stuff, so that was ok for me. JT and Tess, I've always liked them, they're fun and they're so important to our main duo, but I never felt chemistry between them, so I'm not disappointed like you Texasscotian. I don't expect their love story to put me on the edge of my seat. And that is not a problem, I have more than enough with Vincat, couldn't handle another love story like this one on the same show! What was a bit annoying maybe in that ep, was that is was too light I guess. I missed the in-depth connection between Vincent and Catherine, the eyes connection....we had some at the end, but not enough. Ok we won't have that each time they speak to each others, so I'm fine.

I agree there was great acting both from Jay and Kristin, at the boathouse and all through the episode. I loved the boathouse scene too and I loved when she told him "never" at the end. It was so important for him. Love it when they rae honest to each other and tell each other what they think and feel. That's our Vincat! I was rewatching the episode last night, and have you noticed that when she had said yes and they were kissing, on one plan both were holding the other's face, and on the next plan, only he was....I liked to notice these details, meaning they had to cut/do the scene several times

BeastieBoy, you're right, this is a shame when such a great ep is ruined with too many spoilers! For me it wasn't because I saw it with only the ring promo clip, but I totally relate. I've decided not to read any spoiler here and not vizit 3x2 or next threads before I've seen the episode! And I intend to hold on that
