All of the new series will be starting with 13 episodes. Depending on their performance, a couple may receive back orders. The network did not release episode orders for BATB nor Hart of Dixie. Given the network did not state BATB nor Hart of Dixie were going to be in their final season, I have a feeling BATB received more than 13 episodes or slightly more, while the network granted Hart of Dixie 13 episodes or slightly less. Really was hoping BATB would come back in the fall. Oh well, less preemptions, yet the downside is, it is going to be a long seven months after season two ends in July. 7 months ?!! does it have to be 7 ?! a mid season can't start in early Jan instead of March ? if i remember right last year TCD was a mid season and started early on Jan ?! anyway the important thing is we already have S3 , and we will support the rest of S2 and S3 in every way we can to get as many eps as possible in S3 and a fourth season too , why not ? we still have the whole possibility as long as the show makers learn their lesson and stay faithful to the show and its fans , never try to mess up with it again , every thing is possible We spent 6 months from end of season 1 to beginning of season 2 ...so much can be done to our advance to promote the show before it begins in March... I see a positive out of what some see as a negative. Time to rally the troops and get more publicity for the show....even if it has to come from us

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- All of the new series will be starting with 13 episodes. Depending on their performance, a couple may receive back orders. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That isn't necessary true for all new shows. Arrow (I believe ) and BATB all started out with 22 episodes, when they were a new series. So to say that all new series start with 13 episodes isn't an accurate fact. It may be a fact for this new season, for those upcoming new shows only. But that isn't the case for all new shows, as history reveals itself has proven otherwise. Also midseason broadcasting new seasons of older shows or brand new shows to me means, airing only 13 episodes, other wise how else are they going to fit in 22 episodes starting in 2015. You would have to start the season in fall, in order to get all 22 episodes to air on tv. This is just the way, that I understand it to be. I have seen the number of episodes listed for all four series. Further, “The Originals” began with 13 episodes, and did receive a back order!

Yet midseason series typically begin in mid to late February.

No -- Fall 2012 Arrow, Beauty and Emily Owen each started with a 13 episode order. Arrow received its back 9 after its first two episodes aired, although given the generally positive early reception, they probably basically knew that they would get not only a full first season but at least a second as well. The network even ordered an additional episode for the first season for a 23 episode first season and a 23 episode second. www.deadline.com/2012/10/the-cws-arrow-gets-full-season-pickup/Because its ratings declined significantly after its first episode, Beauty had to wait until November to get its back 9. I think CBS was waiting for the third quarter financials to come out to see how well Beauty sold internationally. Emily Owens had soft ratings and apparently weak international sales so it was cancelled. tvline.com/2012/11/09/beauty-and-the-beast-full-season-pickup/

"The originals" are also starting in the Fall, (I believe), so a back order would makes sense as they have time to air the rest of the episodes. How you get 22 episodes to air, when the new season of BATB starts in mid season? There isn't enough time to fit a whole full season of 22 episodes that starts midseason.

I agree with all the analysis Reyna has provided..I would have done the same thing if I weren't on a bus heading to NJ.. BTW a few people I've talked to here didn't know the show existed so great job promoting the show CW. ..it is up to us to do something to change that.just saying lol

You didn't say it, I am just saying in light of the information that has been revealed here about a mid season airing for S3 for BATB, I don't believe there will be a full season of 22 episodes. I am just adding my thoughts of how many episodes there will be. Sorry for the confusion.

New CW schedule 2014-2015. So far BATB doesn't have a slot any day... I see we will have a midseason from January- Feb 2015... CW 2014-2015 ScheduleMONDAY 8:00-9:00 PM THE ORIGINALS (New Night) 9:00-10:00 PM JANE THE VIRGIN (New Series) TUESDAY 8:00-9:00 PM THE FLASH (New Series) 9:00-10:00 PM SUPERNATURAL WEDNESDAY 8:00-9:00 PM ARROW 9:00-10:00 PM THE 100 THURSDAY 8:00-9:00 PM THE VAMPIRE DIARIES 9:00-10:00 PM REIGN FRIDAY 8:00-8:30 PM WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY? 8:30-9:00 PM WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY? (Encore Episode) 9:00-10:00 PM AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL HOPING NOT IN THE SUMMER 2015 Will be interesting to see how The Originals and Jane the Virgin do on Monday night since that night is pretty much the kiss of death. Also, I'm thinking the premises of these two shows are not a good match together. Friday nights will suck, too. I mean really. Two airings of Whose Line... and then America's Next Top Model? B-O-R-I-N-G.
