Do you think that the name "Beauty and the Beast" is part of the reason we have struggled to gain viewers? I think people see that name, and they immediately think of the Disney cartoon, so they don't even give it a shot. What do you think? I think if it had a name of its own it would have done better from the start.

hmm i don't know, maybe? but if it was not for the name i would not have watched in the first place (loved the original when i was a kid) plus the show was watched by many people for the first episode of the first season but many stopped watching cause they did not like it - don't ask me why, I dont get it, same way as i dont get why people like shows such as the 100, TTP, reign etc etc

What's in a name?
You can't do anything about those who come to conclusions without even trying. I never heard of it until the second season was underway. Then I chanced to see that season one was on NetFlix. I know I tried the Pilot because of the name, Kristin Kreuk. First two minutes of the Pilot and I was hooked.
I think a lot of people just fail to see the romance in it (they like Vincent turning Beast, period) or they wouldn't want to see romance if they did.

I really do not think so. The name of our show has everything to do with its history.
