I think he just simply believed he can make Catherine love him on the way. He knew she was not over Vincent but tried to pressure her with his continuous questions and ultimatums. Vincent being a beast was something he could use and he was smart enough to say that as many times as he could. That his agenda did not work out.. oh well… you can not control anyone's heart with facts. BTW I don't think Catherine ever told him about last night. True that. Plus, Catherine's previous experience with Vincent had never come close to anything Gabe was selling. I did like it when Cat finally raised her voice to him in the car. She had made her decision and was not going to listen to anymore Vincent bashing.

Thinking about this. Do you think Catherine's intention was to tell him at all about last night? I mean when she was talking to Tess she said "What I am gonna say to Gabe". It totally sounds like she is thinking about how to avoid all this confession to Gabe.

Now, I'm thinking about Daddy Reynolds saying that having an ex-beast liking his daughter is better than the real one. Hmmmmmmmm. The more I think of it, the more I agree with those who think Daddy Reynolds of the orange onesie is in cahoots with pretty haired boy. Well that's been my opinion all along. I ship Gabe and Daddy Reynolds real hard! They do look good together, don't you think? A match made in HELL

That would have led to a blow-out of catastrophic proportions and we all know that Cat was in strictly non-confrontational mode with Gabe.

Her heart got totally re-engaged the second Vincent's lips touched hers if not during the hug the previous episode.

I think she would probably have put off telling him, and been awkward around him until the "bombshell" moment (for His Majesty of course!).

As I said before, I really want to know if it was a conscious decision by the writers

Mentioning Vincent… We need to give him a huge red point for not making decisions for Catherine and telling to Gabe what happened.

Vincent exercised quite a bit of restraint when it came to Gabe's "holier than thou" smug comments.

No I don't think Catherine confessed to Gabe. But I think that he was beginning to think that something happened between them based on how they were acting.

The more I think about it, I emphatically disagree with those who say "she should have". Whether she did tell him or not, it was nobody's business what she did that night - except hers and Vincent's. As JT said, she's not wearing a ring, therefore, Gabe had no expectation of exclusivity - or anything else. As he himself said, Cat had the right to change her mind. (The complicating factor was that Cat didn't know her mind)
Both Cat and Tess have a little more casual attitude about sex than I would myself but that is the way the characters are written. (And I'm probably pretty old fashioned).
It is important not to confuse honesty with exclusivity. So what would honesty require? If she had kept trying to make it work with Gabe and they had progressed to an exclusive relationship, then she would have to live by that or tell him when it was over. It might have been different if she had accepted Gabe's key - or even told him that she loved him - but I'm pretty sure neither happened. It was all future tense with Gabe and Catherine; they were always "trying to make it work". But frankly she did change her mind, right about the end of the masquerade party, and Gabe knew it.

You do have some very good points there.
