I have always had high hopes that the show will be renewed. I still believe that there will be a S3, though I'm leaning more towards a 13 episode order than a full season. But I still have hope!!  |

I just don't think S2 has been strong enough for renewal. But I would like to think at least a short season will be ordered to tie things up... They can't possibly satisfy us with these remaining episodes if you ask Spydancer. It would take about 10 strong VinCat centric episodes to fix everything they broke in S2. But maybe that's just me. Clearly, I'm not a fan of 99.9% of S2...

^ The extra .1% that you are happy with is Jay topless lol! But I definitely agree sometimes it feels like the writers are trying to drive away the fans on purpose! I know that sounds weird to say...BUT it doesn't take a genius to figure out that the Tori and Vincent idea is bad...Nothing against the actress, but the love triangle and douchebag V has been frustrating...lol I'll stop there before I get too feisty about the show. I just don't understand why the writers went on with an idea doomed for failure at the start, knowing vincat fans won't approve (or 99.9% of them I can safely say.). And I refuse to believe they didn't know that! I just think drama wise they could've taken a different route. Coz I understand yes, there needs to be drama or some concerning situation, otherwise it's not as interesting. BUT I think one of the better routes, may be to focus on Vincents family for instance i.e. Aaron how he finds out about Vincent. I'm sure beasties have alot of ideas they could contribute! Good news...I guess is the show can't get any worse :/ well Gabe and Cat have gone all the way now so I don't think the writers will take that step further of having them marry which is something THAT would be worse :/ Now, I'm thinking of the smallville toxture with Lex and Lana and Clark all heartbroken. Golly, going through that in this show would be too much! Although I know that the characters in batb are entirely different! BUT despite that I'm still stuck on the show! I think its HOPE! Longing and being VERY patient for vincat. The fact that I like KK and Jay and they are great actors. The concept of the show itself has alot of potential....And JT of course, seeing those funny one-liners- its good to see more of those now! Anyway, whoa I've gone off track now! I think there will be half a season. The fact that batb is on hiatus has me worried though  And reign is the same company as batb- CBS right? Do you think they renewed reign because in the back of their minds they are planning to cancel batb but at the same time want to keep a CBS show? I hope that's not the case...How is reign doing rating wise? I'm just holding onto the half season idea, well because I think batb is watched more online. I'm not sure how much they take the peoples choice awards into consideration or at all...but it SHOULD count for something. I mean yeah probably alot of beasties voted heaps of times, BUT its still hard to believe that there weren't alot of beasties voting. Surely, TVD and Supernatural fans would've done the same, I would've thought? And, I know they probably don't count it, but I came across a poll online which show should be renewed and batb had the highest vote...So, I'm thinking there's probably alot more viewers, than is what is shown on the ratings... Batb being renewed may also depend on how the ratings go after the hiatus? If it does decently for that slot, perhaps they will consider a half season order in the off season next year? |

Not likely. The decision of renewal will be made BEFORE BATB returns from hiatus. Austin Basis said several times that ratings for the remaining episodes BEFORE hiatus will make the change (among other things) |

I'm hoping for a season 3 and that Cat and Gabe will no longer be a couple by the end of the next episode and they focus more on Vincent and Cat but sadly I don't see that happening and I fear without giving the loyal fan's something positive to look forward to that those who have stuck with season 2 so far myself included won't want to see yet more promises broken TPTB and cast and crew have asked us to keep the faith and have patients well that's all well and good but everyone has their limits and patients eventually run's out when promises keep being broken.

Much wishful thinking here.  We'd all like to see the show renewed but, objectively, I don't see it happening. They've tried two different approaches in two different seasons now and the ratings have not been good for either. I suppose it's possible the final six episodes this season will turn things around, but considering the hiatus and the unsure schedule to air those episodes it seems unlikely. Also, if you're the Network, you'd have to ask yourself what would be the approach/direction for a season three should they renew it. That's a BIG question in my mind. |

This is the reason why VinCat shouldn't have had sex in season 1. I know most of you don't want to see it but IMO this is why the ratings suck. It's not season 2 that killed the ratings. It was how fast they got together in season 1. What season 2 did for some fans is destroyed the essence of the show and that's why you think it's what killing the ratings.
The ratings were bad since the first episode of season 2. They were already bad at the end of the season 1 at least from what the CW was expecting.
The CW was trying to get a specific target market with this show and this is why the show has The Vampire Diaries as a lead. Yea, I know some of you hate The Vampire Diaries but the audience of that show is what the CW was expecting to have. Right now it's what would have saved this show.
I was even surprised that the CW allowed the writers to put VinCat together so soon. I would have understand if they have gotten together and the show wasn't called Beauty and the Beast but that's the main issue. The show is called Beauty and the Beast so everyone knows they are going to end up together so how do you keep an audience to return every week to watch the show? Especially if you're basing this show on a couple and not everything else. You don't make them have sex by episode 15. By then the audience that they were trying to reach have already seen everything else and they don't have reasons to come back.
Honestly if the show gets cancelled, I'll blame the person who allowed VinCat to get together so soon. The fans were asking for a kiss on Twitter over and over. A KISS! Were they yelling SEX, SEX? NO, a kiss. The writers of the CW's show never listen to the fans, they do whatever they want. The first time they decided to do what some fans are asking and this happens. Nice.
The CW was kind of dumb by allowing this. Year and years of dealing with ships on TV shows and by now they should know that you don't let the main couple get together so soon unless they are not the main couple. Or if they were going to go this way, they shouldn't have called the show Beauty and the Beast. Like with Reign and TVD. Stefan slept with Elena first season but with this show you never know who Elena is going to end up with. With Reign, the prince and Mary slept together but the same with TVD. Who knows who she is going to end up with so the writers and the CW can come out with their precious love triangles that they love so much and it will work for them.
But with Beauty and the Beast again because it's based in the couple love triangles is difficult to play with it. These writers have proved time and time again that they have problems writing love triangles. Too many plot holes in them that don't make sense. Writers if you are reading this, please know something for the future: making the leading lady of the show the second choice for the leading man doesn't help the show. It ruins it. You keep using epic and destiny for VinCat. It's not epic, it's lame.
Of course I do blame other things for what's happening with the show.
The pilot was weak and all those plot holes just keep messing up with the show.
Another thing, people like to know the background of all characters not just one character. Yea, you want to base the entire show on the Beast. Call the show Beast instead of Beauty and the Beast. With this I'm not talking about just Cat. I wanted them to show us stories about Tess, JT, Heather even Joe. I think they did it good with Evan and Gabe. Knowing why they are the way they are is good for the show. JT and Tess are there for what exactly? If they are the best friends, shouldn't we know more about them?
Anyways this is just my opinion. I'm mad at this show. I had so much hope for it and now it's just so close of getting cancelled. If they decide that the show doesn't have a future, at least I hope for 6 episodes for season 3 to get a good closure. If they can actually give a good closure.

It was beautiful and touching and IMO they didn't need to kiss to show how much they loved and desired one another. But what happened was that people, including me, feared that there wouldn't be a season 2 based on the poor ratings and I was afraid that we wouldn't get the chance to see the amazing chemistry between our two leads reach it's highs. They sure had enough chemistry without touching, but we Beasties wanted to see them get together because we were terrified that it wouldn't happen since Season 2 seemed impossible. Ratings for Season 2 started and remained low. It had nothing to do with Tori, or Vincent being a douche, or pretty hair boy. Ratings for the Season 1 finale were: 0.5 - 1.26 million viewers Season 2 premiere: 0.3 - 0.86 million Latest episode 'Redemption': 0.3 - 0.77million Believe it or not, the highest rated episode this season was 'Recipe for Disaster': 0.4 - 0.93 million Basically, many viewers left during Season 1 and many didn't return to see Season 2. What the producers failed to do was gain a new huge audience. All they managed to do was upset some of the remaining Beasties. We have to remember that BATB is currently being aired in many countries around the world. It has a huge International fan base and we have to remember that ratings are based on Nielsen. Not ALL viewers count PLUS it airs on the worst night ever where competition is at it's highest. |
