I searched if this has been posted but I didn't find it. It's from Feb. 17th. hollywoodlife.com/2014/02/17/beauty-and-the-beast-vincat-twist-season-2-episode-14/" Beauty & The Beast’: Austin Basis Teases ‘Shakespearean’ VinCat Twist"
Extract : Austin says fans can expect to have their minds blown — either during tonight’s episode, or when the show returns March 3 — by a massive VinCat-centric revelation. As you know, Kat has been heavily investigating her ancestor Rebecca Reynolds to find out how she’s connected to the whole human-beast situation. Vincent has been similarly looking into his own history, and Austin tells us that all this digging into the past will lead to an unexpected shift in VinCat’s relationship. "I don’t want to compare it to anything Shakespearean, but it will definitely add a new dynamic that fans will enjoy.”
There is stuff also about JTnT .
Why : ...." either during tonight's episode (this was ep 14), or when the show returns March 3....."? I think it will be ep 15 then ! It bothers me when reviewers can't spell Cat's name correctly. She is Catherine, Cat for short not Kat. Getting off my soap box now.

Ah, what is it about parts of Hollywood such that it creates impossible romance, silly expectations, and promotes vicarious living through unrealistic characters, in creating fantasies that have no basis in reality while subtly destroying real life relationships? It depends on everyone to be able to distinguish between fantasy and real life. It's our job to adjust our expectations to the reality, the defaults and weaknesses we all have, not Hollywood's fault, IMO And probably that's one of the reasons why s2 is not as successful as s1. Season 1 was more about wonderful romance (more escape from reality), while season 2 adds up some amount of "reality". And by this reality I mean the weaknesses and defaults of our main characters, not the triangle thingy, which I still don't like and consider unnecessary Okay, now you can all throw me tomatoes!! I'm ready! so no tomatoes from me. just a hug

Also hoping for no tomatoes thrown my way, but I must say, in trying to live with the Direction of Season 2 when I am a staunch VinCat Beastie, I do enjoy the fact that our main characters are only human and make mistakes. Since everyone makes mistakes (sometimes hugely epic ones), how they ultimately deal with said mistakes, misunderstandings, scary predictions for their fates/destiny make you love them more. Of course, WE know what is best for them, but it is interesting to see them come to know what we already know. Yes, I would like an Epic Love without tests or limits. But if something is not tested, how can you ever know if it is real? Catherine has been shaken to her core this season by what has happened. No matter what she did, it was not enough; and Vincent seemed unwilling to love her enough to avoid becoming what I call A Monster By Choice. (I mean, yes, Vincent is a Beast. But you choose to be a monster by your own choices to kill and go by no one's law but your own.) I have this at the back of mind the whole S2. and even KK mentioned it in one of the interview. just like in life, when the emotional graphs just lie flat all the time (be it up or down) one tend to feel numb. i love it when it's up and down and up and down. i know it's awful when it's on the downs, but once it goes back up, i tend to appreciate it so much more (major reason why i'm on this Batb roller coaster ride). which is also why make up sex is often mind blowing Ok, i think i'm babbling here. just hope i made some sense Edit : Gabe might just as well be Paracellsus, right. You basically covered this whole season n some. love it

All right. I'm trying to sum up speculation rumors to try to figure out what may be coming up.
216 is Sam's last episode, correct? Remember, Sam wanted that gem for a reason. Was is just to get Tori's blood or is there more? If the gem was just meant to be a Beast collar, then someone would not have put it in a necklace. Implies a woman is meant to wear it. And Rebecca went after that gem as well, so much so that she went from Britain to the US. So if we have digging going on by JT and Cat in episode 217, then I believe that have gone to retrieve the gem from wherever Vincent buried it. Intriguing that Vincent is not with them since he is the one that buried it in the first place. I'm assuming that we learn in either 216 or 217 that Gem has other purpose, so much so that it is worth risking someone trying to stop Vincent's beast power with it.
Since Sam is gone after 216, the new big bad has to emerge. Either FBI or a new 3rd party (corporate people Sam was after have been made aware of new threat to them by Sam, Vincent, etc.) has entered the picture and is demanding the gem. We know that the FBI is involved again by 218 and that Cat is going to have to do something unpleasant/unwanted to protect Vincent. We also know from pictures that Gabe is still around, at least through 217. It appears he is still working with Cat and Vincent. Why? Without a relationship with Cat, why would he still be involved in Beast business? I don't see Gabe doing this for his fellow former orphaned friends at risk of being inoculated. Could Cat have to do something unpleasant involving Gabe in 218 to protect Vincent from the FBI? I see Gabe's continued presence possibly like Evan from Season 1: his underlying motivation, whether admitted or not, is to keep Cat away/safe from Beasts which would put him possibly allying himself WITH the FBI. Cat wouldn't see it coming until some sort of deal/ultimatum comes from Gabe and/or FBI. Cat could be having to dig the gem up with JT in order to trade Gem for Vincent.
Ah, the possibilities. ((Although, I admit I am not as anxious for increased plot if it takes away from VinCat goodness.)) In whatever episode they all end up Wet, I could see that happening while digging for gem due to rain and everyone ending up at various apartments with their significant others getting out of wet clothes and into nice hot showers together. Yeah, best type of speculation. Reaching for that Iced Tea now.))
Anyone else's thoughts? I need something as I will be bouncing off the walls from now until Monday night.

Ack. Shakespearean twist can mean so many things. Like, if we are talking Othetto, and the bad guy is actually more mesmerizing then the good one and manipulates said Good Guy into harming the girl. I don't need that, let me tell you. Romeo and Juliet could mean Catherine or Vincent have to do something undesirable, like faking one's death as in the play, only to have that go wrong when the other lover doesn't get the news of why the first lover has had to go to the extreme. Either way, Shakespearean twists never end without deaths abounding (ie Hamlet). Eek. I must go back to my Happy Place. Where is that VinCat photo again? Methinks 218 may have that twist, if not before. Could Catherine's going back to Vincent also cause the re-emergence of the Beast in Gabe, a new twist, with Gabe thereafter fighting against his human desire to see Catherine happy, his Power Beast side which is determined to have the girl no matter what, and his decision to hide what has happened from others while he goes on his independent search to find the people Sam mentioned that did all this in the first place? My mind is going fifteen places at once, oh the humanity, oh the speculation! I have never been a Shakespeare fan. Way too much angst, tragedy & people dying at the end!! Although, I do enjoy the Twists & Turns. If only they led to a Happy Ending!! [You guys might have noticed that I'm a "Sunshine, Rainbows & Bring on the Unicorns" kind of girl!!]
So many people compare things they consider grand, marvelous & above average to Shakespeare! I feel that is how Austin thinks of Shakespeare. I trust him not to be alluding to a disastrous, sad ending to my fairy tale BatB! I believe at the end of things, I will be in my Happy Beastieland !!

No need to worry about the reference to Shakespeare; remember, he wrote as many comedies as he did tragedies, and BatB follows the features of a comedy much more than those of a tragedy. First of all, the language-it includes a sprinkling of clever word play, metaphors and insults; next, love-the theme of love is prevalent and we are often presented with lovers who overcome the obstacles in their relationship and reunite; also, complex plots-they contain more twists and turns than Shakespeare's tragedies and histories-in his comedies the climax is always in the third act and the final scene has a celebratory feel as the lovers finally declare their love for each other; finally, mistaken identities-this often drives the plot-it is at times an intentional part of a villain's plan, and character's often play scenes in disguise.... When I look at the characteristics of a Shakespearian comedy, I see many of the elements that have come to us in the spoilers for the next few episodes....as I said earlier, pack up your icy drinks, beasties, sit back and enjoy the next few twists and turns on our crazy roller coater ride...I get a feeling we'll finally be enjoying a few loop de loops along the way.
