I'm feeling better, now. I agree, a snake in the bush is always a snake in the bush. Let's not forget the brutal way he killed the carriage driver and Ray, simply to get to the beast (Vincent). He is a true Lucifer, and his mask will soon fall. There may be a kiss, but Catherine won't go any further than that.

I think it is quite reasonable to put the "blame" on this season on Brad Kern. Sherri and Jennifer are Executive Producers and writers. Mr. Kern was brought in as show runner........he plotted out a story that would span 5 years. Sherri and Jennifer and the Network approved of the direction. The Network does not dictate the story.....they may have issues and express them but other than that they are mostly concerned with the fiscal worth to the network. For instance.....Smallville, the two EP, Al Gough and Miles Millar, wrote episodes and plotted the Story arcs. They had to get Network and DC Comics approval for some things because the story involved a strict copyright from DC Comics. They wanted to use certain DC characters and sometimes didn't get approval, etc. Another example.....the twp EP of LOST.....when the show started to lose viewership, they talked with the Network and said that they wanted to wrap up the story in a certain way and that they had a definitive ending they wanted to achieve. They came to a timeline to achieve this and got the Network's approval. This would keep the storyline focused and purposeful. Brad Kern most definitely had major influence on the way this season 2 storytelling has progressed. Sherri and Jennifer, (who we have heard very little from) either were in agreement with it or let go of the reins to him. So, indeed, unless Mark Pedowitz micromanages every show on the CW, I think the "blame" rests on Mr. Kern. I don't know if assigning "blame" is that clear cut when it comes to TV series. First, unless Souders and Peterson quit, someone at the network or studio level let them go and brought in Kern. Now maybe Kern took the job under the condition that he would have free reign to do whatever he thought best and the network and studio said, "Sure do whatever you want. We won't interfere. We know you ran Charmed for 8 years. We bow to your great showrunning experience" Or perhaps the recipe is his, but maybe the ingredients were dictated by the network or studio -- separate VinCat, bring in a female beast, give us a love triangle (all of our successful shows have love triangles), give us more action. For all we know, Souders and Peterson were replaced because they pitched a season 2 that had VinCat continuing to be together and a storyline that the network or studio couldn't see playing out over 88 more episodes. Yes, Smallville's EP/Showrunner wrote episodes and plotted story arcs but not without network interference. For season 4, they said that the network wanted Lana to have a boyfriend, one that was different from Clark. So while the network may not have written the character of Jason, they were responsible for his existence. There is apparently a lot of bureaucracy involved in writing of TV shows. Levin and Cooper even mention their surprise at the amount of it in one of the Con roundtables. Ted Whittall tweeted @mcdonoughkeely Depends on show, but too many levels of approval on scripts to ad lib. Must deliver what is agreed upon by the top. Kreuk is even following the Twitter @tvnetworknotes which features actual script notes given by Network execs. Here's a note a BBC executive gave to a writer on a BBC show Network Notes @tvnetworknotes Dec 9 “I want to see him struggle. Maybe you can put him in a wheelchair.” – BBC Pedowitz might be the one to approve the general story arc for the season but he doesn't have to be the one micromanaging the show. CBS Studios is probably investing $35-44 million in season 2, and they have all of their executives who need to "earn" their keep by "helping to improve" scripts. If you want a funny read on the script process, here's something Louis CK wrote based on his HBO series. He concludes with, "Now, you think making a pilot is hard, try doing it twelve times in six months." Of course for a network drama, it would be something like 22 times in 10-11 months. www.third-beat.com/2012/01/30/louis-ck-on-how-pilots-are-made-usually/

That's why I keep saying Kern & writers shouldn't be blamed nearly as much as they are!

I think that the blame on this goes to many social media venues..Take it that the show runners are basically taking into consideration only the fans that are in those venues..Facebook and Twitter being the main ones and what do you see there? Fans saying they love the season and they will wait and see how the producers bring VinCat back...my opinion they need to read posts from forums like this to truly read and understand what the fans want..that's my opinion of course And the opinion of all of us here . . .

This article.........*Facepalm*........Brad and Jennifer,..........they are trying to sell a story that seems forced and not "authentic"! "We're trying to build a better mouse trap in Cat and Vincent's relationship and it's all part of the journey.".....Brad Kern. "A better mouse trap".........that is the most ridiculous thing I have ever read about the main Love interests. It sounds like they are two animals going through some obstacle course,.....jumping hoops, running through tunnels, leaping over hurdles? It is a really poor analogy if that is how he sees things. You can separate these two people but you can't lose the connection. If you make it sound like the only reason Gabe and Cat should be together is because he is "nice" ( at the moment ) that your mother would love, and that he is rich, and charming..........or that Vincent and Tori have shared Beast qualities and ONLY THEY CAN TRULY understand each other.............then, Hey,.......let's just have them do the deed and be done with it. Close door and turn off the lights. They are the ones being "negative",........where is the "Hope"........the "ties that bind".........I don't give a rat's booty about the Mythology......I want to know why Catherine would ever go back to THIS VINCENT......I want to know IF this Vincent even LOVES Catherine........? These are two questions that I honestly can't answer at this point, all has been severed. I am hoping that in this next episode I can SEE and FEEL if the connection between the two is still there. I don't want to see just Jealousy.........I want to see the love. Jealousy DOES NOT EQUAL LOVE, in my book. I need to see a LONGING........A DESIRE.......and part of that is not seeing a pairing off (so soon) of the Lead Love Interests with other people. I will stay "HOPEFUL" at least till after the next episode. Don't disappoint me writers....... You go girl!!!!

I think what happens is that the writers seem to have chosen to only read or respond to a certain type of post, and to ignore everything else for the most part (at least, that's my impression). That's why I said some time ago that I think they're living in an alternate reality, totally out of touch with the audience of their series.

I'm really bitter right now. Why exactly do we need a 3rd season of this? And why the heck does this show is called "Beauty and the Beast"? They could have, at least, the decency of changing its name.

We know they will be together again and I would like to see more of that, especially because we didn't get much of VinCat this season. I'd like to see how they cope with things as a couple who are together for good. (and no more breakups.)

(and no more breakups.) i love optimistic people like you ? i really do , even if i am not one of them , but having them in life make every thing better and easier there for i hate to tell you that if we have 3rd season or more they will have so many broken up ! only if that is the final season you can say ( they will be together for good ) as we all know Mr. Kern's original plan was to keep them apart most of the season ,maybe until the last episode , he just changed it because the unscheduled hitch and the big possibility of cancellation , but if he has the 5 seasons he was hoping for ? i highly doubt he would reunited them any soon or keep them together much time !

Your point?my point is when they get back together ( and they will! ) you may enjoy the show so much that you would want another season too, to see them together. You feel bitter because you are disappionted at Vincat. now. After 215- 216 you won't.
