I know there's an online petition, but has anyone considered a campaign to show our support for the show like other fans have done for shows in the past? By that I mean sending something directly to the heads at CW and those responsible for deciding whether or not BATB gets a second season. [/b] [li] In 2000, Roswell fans sent 6,000 bottles of Tabasco sauce — the condiment of alien Katherine Heigl & Co.'s choice — to WB brass. The show was renewed for a second season and moved to a new night. www.lawrence.com/news/2000/dec/30/roswell_saved/[/li][li] Jericho earned a second season after CBS honchos received more than 20 tons of nuts — a reference to Jake Green's "Nuts!" catchphrase. tvdramas.about.com/b/2007/06/06/brilliant-fan-campaign-saves-jericho.htm[/li][li] Reaper harvested a second-season renewal after fans sent socks in honor of Sock to the CW. www.aoltv.com/2008/05/06/reaper-fans-make-sure-you-send-your-socks-to-the-right-address[/li][li] Fans of USA's The 4400 filled up the network's offices with bags of sunflower seeds in homage to the seed-spitting Dr. Kevin Burkhoff. usatoday30.usatoday.com/life/television/2008-02-10-980610557_x.htm[/li][li] In addition to hiring a plane banner and mailing in fake $2 bills, Veronica Mars fanatics flooded CW offices with 10,000 Mars Bars upon the show's cancellation. www.marsinvestigations.net/look_to_the_skies.php[/li][li] Journeyman fans didn't (Kevin) McKidd around when it came to their time-traveling show. I would totally help organize an effort to mail items to the CW -- if it needs to come down with that.
Right now, I'm making an effort to get people to watch the show over the break, so BATB will have new viewers when it comes back.

The only thing I can currently seeing is sending a rose -- could be real, silk, plastic, whatnot. Unfortunately, we can't send fire escapes and dinner on a rooftop to CW. haha.
Maybe, since the show is in NY, we could send apples? Of course, apples kind of say "Snow White" to me...
I will brainstorm over it. See if I can come up with any ideas. If we can figure out *wha<edited> to send (that's relatively cheap to buy & ship) then we can organize an effort and maybe even get a distributor of that item involved so people all over the world can get into the action.

Ok. I was trying to think of something that would be cheap, easy for people all over to get a hold of, probably had a distributor we could order directly from so we could get a group discount & have everything sent directly to CW, etc. Contacts are a neat idea, but to get ones that resemble Vincent's could be relatively pricey. Not to mention that for a lot of those kinds of theatrical contacts, you need a prescription from a doctor or an affiliation with a studio, attraction, or theater to get them. My only concern with snowglobes would be having to pack them all up and ship them out. But that's a neat idea. What about t-shirts though? Everyone has seen the iconic "I <3 NY" t-shirts, what if we make "I <3 BATB" t-shirts. Shirts would look sort of like this: I would gladly contact online, custom t-shirt vendors and find/negotiate the best deal. Then we could just have a page where people could order t-shirts and send them directly to the CW. The manufacturer could then we'd just instruct the manufacturer to send those shirts directly to the CW. That would cut down on shipping costs for international viewers that want to take part in this campaign. What do you guys think?

Something that might be a bit easier to do would be for someone to start a kickstarter that we could all give to. Then find a distributor that sells something like a silk rose for cheap, less than a dollar, then get that distributor to ship directly to CW boxes of roses.
Whatever gets sent kickstarter would let the most amount of people donate from around the world.

I thought of fake roses and was looking for a distributor. I haven't found one that's cheap enough yet. That's why I thought of t-shirts. If we order enough shirts, they can go down to a few dollars a shirt. I'm going to keep looking for roses though because I think a lot of people think of roses when they think of the story of BATB.
I agree that it has to be a website that everyone can use, but for things like Kickstarter we need to keep some stuff in mind: (1) We only get the money if we're fully funded, and (2) Kickstarter will take a percentage of whatever money we raise.
That's why I was going to see if there was a distributor that will agree to a group rate that people could place orders directly to online and that will accept orders worldwide. See if we can save money. If & when I find something, I'll post here.

maybe another option would be candles (in red) if you can't find roses? they could stand for this "having dinner, romance" and they're cheap. we could all buy them in our location and maybe carve in BATB or something related to the show...
