Grateful to have gone on the ride. Won't be back for S2 but I'm a #beastie4life. Thanks for sharing your passion with me. #batbnation And the tumblr site batbnation.tumblr.com . Really proud of what we did there. Until the next journey, #beasties. Xoxo. Emily Silver via TwitterOk guys, in the spirit of @blairgsinger's announcement I want to let you all know I'm also not going to be returning to Batb S2 But I love the show and will continue to have fun insider stuff for you from Kristin or Jennifer &Sherri. Thought provoking news. Thank you Yolie for the additional work of organizing the list of shows each writer worked on. Yes we have a season 2, but with a change in the writers that may not mean a "strong" season 2. (In terms of direction, character flow etc.) Although it could be a blessing - now that the network may feel they have the path they want the show to follow....so who knows! We'll have the next few months to contemplate and mull over it!

I believe this news has been known by the producer's and TPTB for a while..Maybe it was even in their contracts that they would only do ONE season if the show ever got picked up for a second season..I think this is what I call AFTER the FACT. I know now that the producer's, writers, cast and crew knew weeks or maybe even a month that the show was picked up for a second season before CW announced it. Why the hold back? Contracts maybe? Maybe they were getting the t's crossed and the I's dotted but whatever the case..Things just don't happen over night..Look at Emily Silver she found the time to look for another job from the time of the announcement to today? She's been hinting BONES for over a month on twitter so she KNEW way back then that she wasn't returning. It is typical hollywood mumble jumbo to do this so it doesn't surprise me one bit..I'm just saying that they think we the viewers or fans are stupid..And I think they under estimate us..We catch everything..We analyze everything..How can we not figure things out.
OH and NOW I know as a fact as well that the Kelly Sounders KNEW going into Wondercon that we had a second season..She was to confident that the season finale was going to be epic and that the fans wouldn't be happy with it if they got didn't get a second season..Why write a story you are going to leave the fans wanting more if they didn't know they had a second season in the BAG?
Enough said LOL
..I just wanted to give my two cents into this....

Well said Yolie. The producers must have known. Let's face it, the major cast members were all set to leave for their holidays and it's not like you'd let them go without having contracts updated etc. You aren't going to risk the loss of the main stars getting scooped up by another project while you "wait" until the official announcement is made. Hollywood is run by money, and with money - you don't mess around. When Kristen was going to ComicCon, I didn't think the studio would even bother if they felt the show was not going to return for a second season. One thing that I did find frustrating - the BatB Writers twitter page would assure posters that as soon as they knew about a second season - they would let everyone know straight away. (Of course, they weren't going to tell us publicly until it was announced of course, I'm not pretending that they were going to tell us on the sly...ha, especially not publicly.) But when the news was announced, not a peep out of them on that site. I found that strange. Plus all the push for us to vote on various sites, to tell others, to promote the show - which I happily do of course. But sometimes as a Beastie - I feel a little used. Just my humble opinion, in whatever mood I'm in at the moment too. And YET .... Even with a confirmed full second season - we still have to get the rating numbers up. The studio may switch the air date, juggle the schedule, and who knows what may happen with the numbers then. Shows get cancelled mid-season. So we still have work to do! (Note - I did state I happily vote, promote, tell others....

They have an excellent foundation set up now and they are not about to mess it up. They will throw money at it now and make sure it will be an even bigger break out hit next season. Plus with Jay and Kristin at the helm and our support, BATB can only go from strength to strength.

Oh, how I hate change........but, I am hoping that they are bringing in writers, etc. that will work to bring in more action and drama. They have such great potential in that area, I think that would attract more viewers. Have we confirmed if Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson are returning?

Do we know who will be replacing those who are leaving? I hope they get new and proficient editors for season 2! This show has the potential to do really really well next season. I also hope they promote it better next season. IMO, it wasn't given the right amount of promotion last season.
