Yeah I definitely agree there needs to be more attention to small details...
I have mentioned a few things that has bugged me (in previous posts.), in particular the finale with the EDITING mostly!
I'm abit worried of a few things with Season 2:
- VINCAT: you can't deny that they have moved full speed with their relationship, more than the norm (with tv shows.).
They pretty much up to the stage of "can't live without each other, do anything to protect each other, spend the rest of their life with each other and are pretty much fully dependent of one another= TWILIGHT lol. It's not a bad thing, but I think they probably could have paced this more because what does this leave for Season 2? You'd expect that kind of love (which they already showing.) towards the end of the entire series (not season 1.). The writers did mention there will be some kind of conflict b/t them next season but YOU want to see them go forward..:/ You want their relationship to stay fresh..And you wonder with how close they are already, what could break them apart..And how can we watch that without cringing knowing how close they are now? It'll likely need to be something big to draw them apart (with how close they are.)=dragging a couple of episodes=losing viewers
Anyway, I'm hoping relationship wise it'll be along the lines of the Lois and Clark TV show..
- Vincent and the cure issue. I'm surprised this was brought up and resolved so quickly that way. In a way it was good to know that Vincent has started to accept himself BUT I kind of saw that as the MAIN ISSUE and STRUGGLE of VINCENT throughout the entire series...something that he would learn and develop along with his relationship with CAT as the seasons went on. Not like a small issue of it.
- Being in control of the beast- I was kinda expecting more tension/pace with this. It's great that he is able to save Catherine and seems in control now but I think they probably paced this too fast as well. I was thinking GRADUALLY he would tame down, but it's been fast like the relationship. Don't get me wrong it's good to watch but I'm having a challenge thinking what's the focus next season- like what's the growth of the beast with cat? On the positive, we do have the mutation concept which if thought smartly and thoroughly by the writers could work on the shows favor to interest viewers..
Also abilities wise...at first I was thinking they were going down the route of SMALLVILLE like Clark, he'd develop a ability, struggle with it at first and learn to control it BUT it's like Vincent has suddenly been getting ALL THESE ABILITIES AT ONCE without an issue at all. That seems odd since Vincent loses control, it would make sense for new abilities be a struggle too but maybe we should assume it's been edited out.
- THE HIDING ISSUE. This bugs me the most! And it's been inconsistent in that JT seems cool with it now whereas the 1st few episodes- WATCH OUT I''M GETTING A TUMS! It doesn't really make sense to me how JT can turn a 180 like that. Having Sarah as a gf for a reason doesn't cut it
He is still raised with the same issue with Muir field and you see him walk aboutthe streets with Cat. I mean realistically I guess NYC is big, there are HEAPS of people, it's easy to hide among the crowd...Chances of bumping into someone you know coincidentally, I guess is slim BUT still then why make it all dramatic- like at the start hiding the way he did AND then make it inconsistent- Oh, it turns out Vincent was going to be intimate with a girl a couple of years ago..Also, Vs so called disguise with a hat doesn't cut it AT ALL
It's so obvious it's still V. I don't think if Muirfield saw him with a cap on, they'd walk past thinking it's someone else so why? At least wear glasses on top..
Anyway, that's my vent! I hope they do work on these things next season! I think they should, since:
1. they changed a number of staff
2. they trailed season 1, so I think they got a clearer idea of what works, what doesn't
3. the staff from season 1 are more experienced now
4. I'm guessing they probably got more time to edit now? I mean it seemed last season there wasn't much time b/t writing and editing BUT the writers have started writing/planning quite early this year, already up to ep 2/3 and they start filming just after comic con?
Finger crossed because they don't want to lose more viewers. I mean, if it wasn't for the great acting, characterization and hotness of Jay Ryan, KK, Austin, Nina, etc...I may have tuned out
Also, I do agree I'm a little concerned for the changed time slot especially how the finale played out, hate to say it but they may have lost viewers on that :/ Why do I have a feeling they put it the same time as hart of dixie, so as to choose next year which show has the axe out of the 2? Since there isn't much difference amongst viewers b/t the 2. But who knows since the ratings system will apparently change.
