So funny story, Nielson (yes, that Nielson) is hiring for the people that go out and recruit new families, analyse data, etc. Just saw job postings on a group I'm part of... was like, "Should I go apply for work with the enemy?"
j/k
BTW, preemptions-wise, I heard that BATB would be airing today in those states. Anyone know if that's true? It obviously won't appear on a site like TVbythenumbers, but I'm thinking CW (due to preemptions) will add the numbers for TVD & BATB. Nikita & Cult were also preempted, which I think is why their numbers seem so high right now. I would imagine final numbers for Nikita are going to be 0.3 or 0.4 and Cult will get 0.2.
Still 0.5 causes me to worry a little. I'm still keeping BATB on Likely to Be Renewed due to other factors, such as the fact that so many more people are watching it online (thanks to sites like Tunnelbear) and the BATB Fan Campaign books that have been going to the CW... and I talked to a friend in the industry about BATB and they said they saw it getting renewed right now. Hmm...
I will say that last night's episode, imo, was good, so I'm hoping that will inspire more people to tune in.
In the meantime, my predictions for the Network remain the same...
Certain Renewal: Hart of Dixie, Nikita
Likely Renewal: Beauty & the Beast
Certain Cancellation: Cult, The Carrie Diaries
I've been following the progress on the Pilots. Reign (CBS) is filming in Europe. The Selection (WB) in Budapest. Given these are pricey ventures for CBS & WB...I'm thinking at least one will probably be picked up. Though I almost see it as possibly being a Mid-Season order.
Right now the only CBS solely produced project on the CW is BATB. (90210 is also CBS, but I'm not counting it because it was cancelled.) I really don't see CBS wanting to cancel all their shows in one season, especially when BATB seems to be doing well overseas. AND I also think CBS is going to be pushing their new Pilots too.
The CBS Pilots right now are...Blink, Company Town, Oxygen, & Reign.
For those curious, WB's Pilots are The 100, The Selection, & The Tomorrow People.
The Originals is a joint CBS/WB project.
Focusing on the CBS Pilots, which we know at least one will get picked up because CBS wants its shows on CW... I think Oxygen would be the best pair for BATB.
Out of the WB Pilots, surprisingly, I think all could pair with BATB. I'd probably give the advantage to The Selection because The 100 or The Tomorrow People may be better suited to Arrow. I still believe the CW is going to resist (if possible) separating Arrow & Supernatural, at least in the Fall.
This is how I see the Fall looking on the CW... (Mondays & Tuesday shows could easily switch days.)
Monday
8pm - Hart of Dixie (could possibly move to 9pm, but given how dark some of the Pilots are, I'm keeping it at 8pm)
9pm - Blink or Company Town (Kind of hard to guess what to pair with HOD since none of the new Pilots really fit with it.)
Tuesday
8pm - Oxygen or The 100 or The Tomorrow People (leaning toward Oxygen because it would pair pretty decently, but this could all change as none of the Pilots have finished being tested yet. I do think Reign or The Selection could pair with BATB, but they may be too expensive to produce a full 22 episodes, so I see them right now as Mid-Season Shows)
9pm - Beauty & the Beast (Tuesday shows are expected to get less viewers, so I could see CW putting BATB on Tuesday night for 13 episode Fall order)
Wednesday (I think since this is such a succesful night, CW is going to want to keep the shows together in Fall. I know some disagree but they aren't thinking like Mark Pedowitz. He wants to turn the Network around. There's a reason TVD hasn't changed nights & times - it works there. I think the Network is going to want to keep Arrow & SPN together. Plus, it's cheaper. No advertising needed to promote new nights for either show.)
8pm - Arrow
9pm - SupernaturalThursday
8pm - The Vampire Diaries
9pm - The Originals (unless the backdoor Pilot is absolutely terrible, I see this getting at least 13 episode order)
Friday
8pm - Nikita (Final Season)
9pm - America's Next Top Model (episodes left from Summer)
Mid-Season: I think either
Reign or
The Selection will be a Mid-Season show due to production costs. Either could probably pair with BATB.
Again, this is all guessing on scheduling because I haven't seen the Pilots yet (or heard from anyone who has). I think CBS is really interested in Reign though. I've also heard a lot of buzz about The 100 too. And Mark Pedowitz does like The Selection...so...not sure. Will be interesting to see how the Pilots test though because it could give insight to BATB's fate.
