And important the distinction between protecting someone for their own good AND protecting someone for the WRONG reasons. And Cat realizing the IMPORTANCE of the distinction.

And Cat tracking down JT in the open. And clearly being apologetic, to both JT and Vincent. LIKE how Austin plays this scene--that LOOK of his says that he actually DOES feel sorry for Cat. And gets that she really DOES care for Vincent. Before then, JT saw Cat as an obstacle and a danger. NOT as a person. Or someone that Vincent might need. Personally, I believe that JT's Attitude towards Cat DOES change HERE.
After all, JT gave the letter to Vincent when he could have hidden it. Vincent would have been none the wiser.
ROOFTOP ROOFTOP ROOFTOP!!!
I love Cat apologizing in person as well when Vincent sees her. And Cat acknowledging Vincent was right about her previous priorities and her pushing him away.
AND Vincent admitting that he DOESN'T want to cease contact with Cat. Because he likes that someone else WANTS to be around him, even at his worst.
So he admits he wants her in his life, even if he is NOT yet willing to admit how close he wants her to be.
And their uneasy truce becomes more. They clearly stay on that rooftop for longer to talk with one another.
SO I LOVE HOW THE EPISODE ENDS. With them talking. Getting to know one another in a non-case-like way. LOVE the implications. (And why, oh why couldn't they have given us MORE of this? Would have loved to have had a couple more minutes of hearing them TALK to one another and begin building the relationship!)

I hope others can tune into the rewatch next week. It really is SO MUCH MORE FUN when others watch and type as we go along. Helps ENHANCE the episode experience!!!!
Is there any other time that would work better for all?
(And where are you Jefferen? Was looking forward to your episode commentaries again!!!!)

FOR THOSE WATCHING "PROCEED WITH CAUTION" AT A LATER TIME:
Questions/Thoughts to consider when viewing:
1) Do you think that JT changes his mind about Catherine and her involvement in this episode?
2) Why do you think JT gave to Vincent the letter from Cat?
I mean, if he REALLY wanted to get rid of her, or thought Vincent needed to be without her, he could have just destroyed the letter. To me, shows CAT'S trust in JT that he will give the letter to Vincent AND that JT clearly didn't try (very hard) to keep Vincent from reciprocating and seeking out Cat again.
3) What was your FAVORITE VINCAT scene in this episode? WHY?
(Personally, LOVING how Cat was just WAITING out in the rain for Vincent. She just KNEW he would come to her!!! And it was HOT, with her oh-so-casually leaning against the car in the rain, while Vincent is all standing with feet apart, glaring. BUT STILL CAN'T stay away!!
And that Warehouse Scene between the two afterwards! How shy-boy Vincent is, but wanting to talk to Cat and confide in her. Just now sure how to do it, especially with Cat all hyped-up against Muirfield. Sigh.)
4) Did the case help or hurt the episode, in your opinion?
5) What did you think about Cat and her co-workers interactions in this episode?
6) Fans of Evan at this point OR were you convinced he was only there as a potential obstacle to VINCAT?

Sorry for missing the live chat, I just can't do both. I will tell now what I feel about this episode. 1.Not really but he now tolarate her better in this episode. 2. Because JT is a good guy and he knows Vincent want to keep in touch with Cat. 3. I loved the last scene. It was nice and begining of a relationship that I loved very much. I. Considering cop drama are very popular, they should have made the cases more interesting. May be than the show would have been a hit. 4. I loved it. Joe and Evan were very nice character who should have in the later seasons. Plus Tess had more chemistry with Joe. 5. Evan was a hotty. I loved him. I wanted to see a relationship between him and Cat. That would have been nice instead of Gabe.

It would have meant breaking the 'bro code' to withhold the letter. JT would not do that. He is really BIG on that.

HAVE to add regarding the 1st two episodes of BATB:
I LOVE how Vincent obviously admires Cat being a tough cop, although he bears the brunt of her interrogation-style methods, especially in "Proceed With Caution." And Vincent can quarrel with Cat and go toe-to-toe with her when she is in cop-mode.
But when Cat is dressed up all girly before her father's engagement party, Vincent is spellbound. And when she is all vulnerable, and getting weepy, Vincent can't resist wanting to make her feel better. Vincent is literally undone and ends up giving Cat information that he probably would NOT have done because he KNOWS Cat will figure out that Vincent knows more about Muirfield then he has told her.
So Vincent can square off against Cat when she looks and acts like a cop. He is wary then and cagey about what he admits or tells her. BUT WHEN she is vulnerable and seemingly in need, Vincent goes into protective mode and just wants to make her feel better. So in both the "Pilot" and in "Proceed With Caution," he admits things he would later regret--in the Pilot, he lets her know about his past after Cat has been injuried AND admits that Muirfield had specifically come for her Mom when she is upset about blaming herself. And Vincent is clearly all huffy at Cat for coming to the warehouse, BUT the moment she talks about having isolated herself and no longer feeling normal, Vincent opens right up to her, SOMETHING THAT JT CLEARLY NOTICES. And comments on.
BUT AS ALWAYS, I love how Vincent just stares wonderingly at Cat when she is all dressed up, like she is a fairy-tale princess and the most beautiful woman in all the world. He does it again in "Any Means Possible" when Cat comes down the stairs in THAT dress. Sigh. LOVE those little moments that Jay always played JUST right.
Okay, LASTLY, Beasties don't forget re-watch of Episode #3, "ALL IN" on Wednesday at 8:00 p.m.!! BE THERE or be a fan of Gabe (which is really about the biggest insult I can come up with!).

Again, a NOD to the original BATB series from 1987 by starting the episode with Vincent and Catherine telling us how they found each other and must SAVE each other.

And my pity to whoever was the BATB stunt person at this time. I mean, ouch.
Cat running around the university, looking for JT! You have to love JT's sense of humor--"if you haven't heard from him, he's just not that into you!" Yeah, right JT. You KNOW your bro is hung up on her!
And Cat sending the "How Are You?" note--and JT saying that will get them dead!
And Josh just drinking Cat's milk straight from the fridge? Heather, that one is NOT a keeper!
