I tend to put myself in the shoes of Cat but I am imagining how excited Vincent must be feeling actually interacting with this person he has been crushing on from afar.

And Vincent CHOOSING to tell Cat about what happened to him.
And he wanted her there, even knowing the risks. He needed to confide in her. He shares with her exactly what he went through, something he hasn't done since JT.
And the Beast-Amplification Effect that Season 2 will cover kind of makes sense in WHY all the soldiers went crazy when they all became beasts together, in an enclosed space. They amplified each other and couldn't handle it and attacked everything. Although Vincent really never seems to have done that, as it seems to come out over the seasons. I mean, Vincent's trying to HELP the others is why the army head does NOT shoot him.
But Vincent won't tell Cat about Vanessa, and he seems to have somehow "forgotten" stuff until "Trapped." So I have always wondered if Vanessa, the army, OR REYNOLDS messed with Vincent's memories for the first time way back when.

And Tess saying Cat has the "sex glow" after she had interacted with Vincent!
And BED BUGS being the thing to lead Cat and Tess to other leads! And I like how Evan just works so easily with Cat after thinking she had stood him up! But I think he realizes, along with Tess, that Cat forgot due to working on the case (although we REALLY know it was because of Vincent and all his revelations!).
WHY does Cat choose to confront the FBI guys? She really has no real self-preservation skills when it comes to a case! THAT is consistent THROUGHOUT the series.

And notice that Vincent comes from BEHIND Cat. I think he was secretly following her again and realized she was on her way to his place.
And she comes to warn Vincent. And she confronts him, is insistent, risks everything because, deep down, she doesn't think Vincent will harm her. Even then.
But you see Miss Cat's stubbornness. And Vincent thinks beasting-out will stop her? Who is he kidding?

"You can't tell who the real monsters are." That is such a great line, considering what all VinCat go through. And that awful husband, never realizing how he just always did set up his wife to die.
And by the by, I just LOVE Cat in that beautiful blue colored-top that you see when she goes to arrest that woman.
And Tess knows something is up, especially when Cat's phone is found with several subway bodies.

So I have always wondered if Vanessa, the army, OR REYNOLDS messed with Vincent's memories for the first time way back when. Yeah, this was never clear to me if he actually did know about Cat's mom and was holding back on her or not.

And Evan finding a way to score a date with Cat after all! But Cat never really notices him at the party, still obviously thinking of Vincent.

"HI???" JT having to realize that Vincent and Cat NOW KNOW one another! THIS SCENE may actually rival the subway scene as being my favorite scene.
Even though their last encounter ended with Vincent beasting out, he is NOT AT ALL surprised with Cat JUST walking into the room again. HE KNEW that EVEN SEEING HIM AT HIS WORST AND MOST UNPREDICTABLE would NOT scare Cat away. I LOVE that sense of trust and comraderie that is just THERE from the beginning.
And JT just REALIZES that he won't come in between that. And JT willingly leaves them alone. BUT I LOVE HOW VINCENT LOOKS AT CAT all dressed up. He CAN'T hide his interest, and that certainly doesn't bother Cat.
And Cat is QUITE INTELLIGENT in bringing up that Vanity Mirror. She instinctively knows, there again, that Vincent won't want her to feel guilty. SO HE HAS to say it wasn't the vanity mirror. He lets her know Muirfield WAS tracking her. WHICH CAT WILL BRING UP later. But for now, that WAS ENOUGH and was JUSt the right thing she needed to hear from Vincent.

At this point, she doesn't understand the nuances of Muirfield and how careful she really needs to be for both of them. She's somewhat idealistic, but all this plays out more in the next episodes.

Sad for Evan that Cat is just thinking of Vincent while dancing with him. And she instinctively looks out into the city, like she somehow knows Vincent has followed (AGAIN!) and is watching her.
The voiceovers were, in my opinion, a tribute to the original. It worked in the opener for the original. NOT so much for the present-day version.
But I did think the voiceover made sense here. You get to see how Cat just CAN'T interact NORMALLY with society. She is STILL a step removed from anything and everything outside of her job. She has sealed herself off so much, somehow. YET she can't really seal herself off from Vincent, although I DO THINK SHE TRIES, at first, because she is JUSt as afraid to let someone in as Vincent.
I think they BOTH feel the PULL and attraction to one another. And they trust one another while inwardly wondering WHY each would take such risks. JT will act as a sounding-board and cautionary voice to Vincent in wondering just WHY he risks so much in letting Cat in. Just like TESS is constantly reminding Cat of what SHE is risking in doing so much alone and taking so many risks that could get her killed (like serving a warrant and searching a warehouse ALONE).

JT sort of acted like the father of a teenage boy (Vincent) who he wanted to limit his exposure girls. It was as if the girl (Cat) was going to cause trouble for his son, both emotionally and otherwise. Sooner or later, Vincent was going to try his wings, so to speak.

And the LAST song by Florence and The Machine is SO PERFECT, once again. I really LOVED the song selections from the Pilot. We had "Midnight City" from M83 as well when Cat was on the way to her date. The song selections is this episode could not be any more relevant or perfect for the scenes where they played.
The music in the first and second seasons seemed consistently spot-on. The only other time in a series when I thought the music was perfect was in the original airing on television of the Roswell episodes. (They unfortunately couldn't pay for the music rights when it went to DVD, so the perfect songs only occurred during the original television airings.)

PINKDAISIES,
I never thought of JT's relationship with Vincent in that way before, but you really nailed it. JT really IS like the over-protective father who just KNOWS that Cat will be trouble, even if she doesn't mean to be. Her profession by its very nature will almost have to cause conflict, especially when we know how dedicated Cat is to solving a case and getting justice.
But Vincent has become so closed-off, restless, and downright miserable. Jay really played Vincent as so HOPEFUL and eager to have Cat in his life. He looks so longingly at Cat when she is at the party. He wants so desperately to keep her and be with her. And JT automatically KNOWS that Vincent won't be able to stay away, despite the danger.
But I love how JT respects Vincent's ultimate judgment and leaves Vincent alone with Cat when asked to. Even though he has about a million questions about just WHEN Vincent and Cat managed to meet and interact, particularly as neither was surprised to see the other!

I have purchased quite a few of the songs from S1 and S2. S3 songs were OK but S4 was terrible.
