From what I gathered from the episode, Muirfield did NOT just end with Zhao's death. It apparently stumbled on into bankruptcy or something like that. It was basically considered a "defunct" company, per Garis, where all the previously employed scientists must have jumped ship without funding, etc. from the government or other sources. But then SOMEONE bought Muirfield out and all rights to the EXISTING PATENTS AND FORMULAS and continued on with the experiments. THAT is where I have a real problem with the writing. There are SO MANY holes with this one. Business entities don't just go "defunct." If it was a privately owned and controlled business, legal things have to happen to shut it down, including bankruptcy or something else. If the company was sold, there has to be PAPERWORK and other legal things that have to happen. JT would OF COURSE been privy to this. It makes NO SENSE that JT or Cat or someone else wouldn't have been monitoring Muirfield once Zhao died if it remained a viable company that could be sold off to the next willing buyer. Plus, just what DID happen to those Formulas and patents that Muirfield would have undoubtedly had to have held? Ownership of such things is traceable, so the writing was just pathetic as to the whole "demise" and rebirth of Muirfield. And the repetitive dialogue and episode feels in this one bothered me as well. It is a rush to the end, with the "new beast" having just been revealed to be in existence. I mean, it was like "Garis" was invented just to be given the Dialogue to explain Muirfield's being supposedly alive and well after all this time. Like others, I wanted something that FEELS new. I can look to the "nuanced distinctions" and differences between the seasons, but it really felt like the same-old/same-old in this episode. Sigh. But there are only 2 episodes left (INSERT MAJOR SOBBING AND HYSTERICS HERE), and I have enjoyed Season 4 overall. I ALSO WISH that Sherri and Jennifer had been invited in to finish the whole thing, but it is what it is. I'm just SO unexcited wtih the whole new upgraded beast thing. Been there, done that. And the government is back in as the bad guy in the form of DHS that ONLY cares about their agent being killed, rather he DESERVED IT and BROUGHT IT ON HIMSELF or not. Seems like DHS will just want an ACTIVE COVER-UP to blame Vincent for THEIR AGENT's wrong-doing. NOT like this part of the plot AT ALL!!! But it is almost over, and I feel bad for complaining regardless. Still LOVE my BATB. But really feel the writers knew they had been cancelled and are just whimpering to the finish line. And we NOW have VinCat in custody. So AT LEAST an episode will be devoted to incarceration and what-not, leaving ONLY one episode to find and kill the new beast and reveal what will happen to VinCat in the end. That is approximately 43 minutes ONLY for this "new beast" to seemingly be found easily enough to deal with him and end the whole thing. THAT is just irritating and a rushed ending. AAAUUUGGGHHHHHHHH! I'm ticked, I tell ya! alwayscrazedbatbfan and the DEN says WE AGREE!!!

Hy guys!! Sorry for my absence. After holidays I watched the episode and I'm upset. I like it! I like connections to the first season... It's like a circle that closes. At the end Kyle can be unfriendly, but so Cat and Vincent can't leave NY. I'm so sorry for Ether and maybe through and through VinCat don't think to their family and friends in this confusion. Tess and Vincent's dialogue is very deep about it. And I adore the end... finally this slew of plans and escapes will finish!!! I can't wait the next episode and the choice to wait two weeks is a low blow for the show.

Beacause I can't believe that VinCat escape from their life and identities. Usually they fight, in this case however it's only thanks to Kyle's intervention and DHS that they have stopped. This hypothesis is always present in the entire show, but in this episode is so real! Cat's tears and her will to prove again and again in so touching...

Would you like your boyfriend to make a monumental decision like that for you? It says loud and clear that he thinks Heather unfit to manage her own life and that she needs him to fix it for her. Also, he should realize that Vincent and Catherine will end up in jail due to his betrayal and that is much worse than leaving their loved ones behind. But I know that Brad Kern is on this 'redemption no matter what the offense' trail and if in his twisted world trying to kill Vincent and Catherine will end up with the criminal from S1 winding up in Catherine's bed in S2 as a reward, Kyle will be forgiven as well.

I agree with you kyle surely crossed the line of being a boyfriend. He had no right.

I think Kyle reacted as any citizen and the man who doesn't want to give up to his girlfriend. In the some way VinCat risk the impossible. I don't justify Kyle, but I can undestand him for his choice.

Maybe it is not clear... but in USA it is not like for us in Italy! if you are arrested by DHS your life could be only in two ways: - finished because you are killed (I don't mean capital punishment... they kill you off and simply you are not on this world anymore) - you are closed in prison for the rest of your life under maximum security Those are the two options Kyle gave to VinCat (if we don't consider any possible twist in the story). You want that? I can "kill" my "boyfriend" for less than this not move on with him for sure! I'm honest but in Heather's shoes, nobody would keep me from giving him a good kick in his *part<edited> [**] at least

I was going to, but I get so riled that I sometimes have to step back and tone down what I really want to write (especially about Brad Kern and the direction he took this lovely show.) You are absolutely right about the system in the US being much harsher once you are labelled a 'terrorist'. We have seen in the trailer how they are treating Vincent: beating him, injecting him with who-knows-what, solitary confinement without the right to ever see a lawyer or ever go to trial, no visitors, nobody knows where you are and those are just the minor things. There is a discussion I had with Pippin in the Sensitive Spoiler Section about these 'enhanced' interrogation methods, which include severe beatings, waterboarding (where you are nearly drowned), slapping against the walls, sleep deprivation through constant unbearable noise and bright lights and many more cruel treatments. And that does not only go for Vincent - they could do the same to Catherine as an accessory. Agent Dylan is already stating the obvious to her about being in prison for life without a trial, without parol, without hope of ever getting out of there. Actually, for Catherine the situation could be even worse once it leaks that she was a cop- and somehow those things have a way of leaking eventually. Cops get killed in prison. Kicking Kyle into the groin is the LEAST Heather should do.

Ah! I am so mad at the situation Cat and Vincent were in this episode and are going to be the last 2 episodes. It's just not fair. I hope we get a ending that justify all the pains.
