Okay, folks, here is a run-down of the deleted scenes and I must say, it is not much there.
Episode 1 – The Beast of Wall Street
a. extended scene of conversation in the morning between VinCat, while both are getting ready for work. b. Catherine standing outside DHS office and agent Thomas is coming to take her inside. c. Vincent entering the restaurant and telling the Maître D' that he has a reservation. d. Tess telling a security guard to check for explosives in Tyler's office building e. extended scene of JT and Tess going out and he smacks her bottom – loud – as they leave.
Episode 2 – Primal Fears
2 small scenes with Tess as she is trying to distract an agent from DHS while Catherine is searching agent Thomas' office.
Episode 4 – Heart of the Matter
a. unknown woman crying and praying with a rosary, when a female surgeon with a 'bad news face' enters. b. Catherine comes to the hospital to check on Solomon. Vincent sees her and asks what she is doing here and that they have to talk. She says: 'What? You think this is my fault?'
Episode 5 – Most Dangerous Beast
Catherine and her new partner cop in the coffee shop – she tells him not to ask so many questions and gives him money to get her and himself some coffee.
Episode 10 – Patent X
Catherine is using Tess' office and has some documents spread all over the desk. She calls a detective in and questions him about these bombings of hospices. The detective tells her that they think the target is a specific patient who is jumping clinics and that he seems to be terminally ill from a rare blood disorder.
Episode 11 – Unbreakable
a. Conversation Heather and Catherine in the car like in the episode, but then Catherine is ripping Heather's coat at the shoulders and smearing her lipstick and tells her to make a scene in front of the security guys about having been mugged.
b. Heather and two security guys and she is turning on the waterworks and telling them how she was mugged. Then another security guy comes in and tells her that she is lying about having been attacked on a certain corner of the building, because nothing is showing on the security video. Then he threatens her to tell the truth or he will call the police.
Episode 12 – Sins Of The Fathers
a. Vincent outside of the Hollingsworth mansion overhearing Liam giving a toast. Helen coughs and Liam promises to call a doctor. He moves to the window and sees Vincent down in the street and he says something telepathically to him about suffering (hard to understand). b. The Hollingsworth family is sitting in the crypt and Scott is checking his watch and wondering where Liam is, because it is three o' clock.
c. VinCat running out of the church? (About a 3 second clip)
Well, you all probably saw the Gag Reel already, so not much more to say about that.
I will be back with the other two special features. Only looked over the first one where my most hated person (BK) actually speaks about the show and I just want to scream at my tv set. Have to process that shock first.

Jewels and BBATB:
I will of course nominate you both for sainthood. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for the gag reel clip (Jewels) and detailed Deleted Scenes coverage (BBATB). And that Gag Reel looks hilarious, by the by, even though I couldn't really hear it that well. The expressions on the faces of KK and Jay in particular through some of those outtakes were priceless. The whole cast looks so at ease and comfortable doing their work that it was a pleasure to watch.
(And BBATB, I'm right there with you on BK. I would rather hear about the show from anyone ELSE but him.)

DETAILS, give me DETAILS!!! I have been deprived of any new BATB content for TOO LONG now!! So PLEASE spill the beans as to Added Scenes on the DVD (and if any are VinCat-related) and particular scenes (and people) that showed up on the gag reel. NEED this information, as the hiatus has caused far too much suffering. Need funny gag reel commentary to compensate! First sighting of Gag reel not great quality but I am starved youtu.be/3SWeD0Q8HWIENJOY Another great gag reel! Kristin sure loves to laugh, dance and sing. Everybody seems to be enjoying themselves and Jay seems to be the mischief maker. Can wait to see the rest of the bonus material. Thanks Jewels for the link and bbatb for the details. Also special thanks to our departed member anapi -season3baby :) for posting it on youtube.

BeastieBoy:
Right with you on the KK and her dancing and singing. That was so cute, particularly in the outtake where it looked like Jay started dancing alongside her. And I thought the singing just WAS too adorable, and it made me miss the scene from Season 1 BATB where Tess, Heather and Cat are singing karaoke, drinking and going on about their man-woes. (And I rather credit Jennifer and Sherri for scenes like that which were SORELY missed in S3!) With so few episodes left for S4, I doubt we get another such moment, so I was glad to AT LEAST see it on the gag reel.
(And, may I add, it is just SAD to say that so many potentially wonderful intimate moments came on the GAG REEL rather than the episode! The characters all looked far more comfortable with each other in their whoopsies rather than what was translated on screen last season. Sigh.)
And please pass along my thanks to Anapi as well. I'm so glad to see that she is still obviously a Beastie. Miss her and the others and wish everyone would come back together to discuss S4 issues, but I guess that it what they use twitter for. But great to know that even if they are not part of this forum, other Beasties are still out there and loyal to watching the show!

I cannot tape it, sorry, I am not any kind of IT buff.
I can give you a little run down of the conversation.
After Vincent puts on his jacket and slings his manbag over his shoulder he says: V - stop worrying that somebody is coming to mess it up, I won't let it, I will definitely not let it! (then comes the deleted part) C - are you nervous? And she hands him his keys. V - No, why? Maybe a little. C - laughing - You are gonna do great, just don't beast out a the first sight of blood! V - good tip C - play nice with the other doctors, but not too nice with the nurses! V - Okay, another good tip. (kissing)I love you so much C - I love you, too.
End of deleted part.

Loved that part... so sorry they deleted it off! It would be nice (and human) to see Cat worried about Vincent looking at nurses... I mean... If I had a BF like Vincent I would be worried everytime another woman is around him... no matter how much I could trust him.. but I don't trust other women!! And so sweet Vincent as always, so in love with Cat he has only eyes for her

Okay, BeastieBoy , I'll start with the Day in the Writer's Room and I must say that overall - for me - it was a bit of a let-down. I had been really looking forward to that feature in order to maybe gain SOME insights into the writing process and why it is soooo difficult to create intelligent dialogue, logical progression of plots and most of all an explanation of why they HAVE to resort to cutting corners, completely changing characters, messing with Vincent's powers soooo often - stuff like that. And when I hear BK say that the show has a loyal fanbase and that he is trying to ALWAYS give them a reason to come back, then frankly, I just want to puke. How can he say that, when he did not give a damn about the loyal fanbase in S2, when he called the loyal fanbase 'fair weather fans' and 'the fans cannot have candy all the time'? I just don't get how he can sit there and say these things. Austin chimes right into the same vein, about BK being a successful show runner and about him having so much experience with sci-fy and with mythology and so on and so on. And I keep asking myself, yes that is all great, but what about the ROMANCE??? What about showing us the engagement time of Vincent and Catherine? Those two should be left, right, front and center and everything else should only be background noise (I am exaggerating of course to make a point here). And I mean with believable obstacles and not bickering and fighting about a brass lamp or a tv screen, or having to see a shrink for crying out loud. It seems from the interviews that everybody is just very pleased with themselves and is just slapping themselves on the shoulder. Roger Grant calls it a sophisticated show, but seriously, when I look at some of the dialogues and the plots, then the word sophisticated is NOT my first choice. And that is okay, because I do not need it to be sophisticated, I need it to make sense, have the characters be 'in character' and have them in love and true to each other - NO MATTER WHAT! They showed us the famous white board and we see how the story progresses and in the end BK points to a gap on the board and says that they have to get from there to here and he tells the writers to get started. And..... then it is all over, just when it was getting interesting. I would have loved to see how the writers continue with that framework and how they struggle with certain problems: the plays on words the commercial breaks and that you are supposed to have a mini cliff hanger just before the break how they work key elements into the dialogue how they get their information of previous episodes is there a list of Vincent's powers somewhere - do they care about that? do they even know how Catherine is supposed to act/react - do they even care? are they discussing things amongst themselves? are they weighing pros and cons - like is their somebody in there that is questioning things, because, well because it is 'out of character' I expected stuff like that from the title and much less of seeing BK left, right, front and center.

I am a UK Beastie who received their Season 3 DVD on release day and an hour or so later, I had watched all the extra content. By far my favourite is the deleted scene of the very first episode when Cat is sending Vincent off for his first day of work at the hospital. I love the advice she gives him to "Play nice with the doctors" to which he replies, "good tip" and kisses her. She then says "..but not with the nurses", and Vincent's response is say, "another good tip", kiss her again and say"I love you". The scene is just adorable and at the expense of another few seconds, I really can't see why the scene was cut.
The scene with Cat and Heather in the car before Cat sneaks in to the Helen Ellingsworth charity event is also good and shows how Heather ends up looking so bedraggled.
The Season in Review and Writers Room documentaries are OK but I can't say that I'll be watching them more than a couple of times. The Gag reel is OK too. Shows Jay's naughty side and Kristin's giggly side which was nice.

You are so right! After few seconds and especially after BK said that he always wanted to please the fan base I would have like to stand up from my couch and slap my tv monitor. I understand that maybe Austin and other actors can't say anything bad about writer in an official promo (I mean it would be like you telling your chief that he is not good at his work in public...) otherwise it could turn into problems for their future work... but this way BK is making fun of his audience. He would have made a better figure just shutting up about that and speaking about technical stuff that are interesting

From his Twitter comments while S3 was airing, he mentioned several times that he thought S3 was their best season. OTOH, Kern's comments makes me think that he really doesn't understand what drew beasties to this show in the first place. I think one glimmer of hope for S4 is that KK was also a producer.

Your perception is correct BeastieBoy, Austin DID come across as absolutely genuine, as did Kristin and Jay, Roger Grant and, yes, even 'the other one'. That is what I meant that they are actually thinking that they did an awesome job with S3 - and there are many fans out there who are happy with S3 (I know you are) and they have tweeted praise and thank you's, boosting the writers'/producers' perception that they are on the right track. Whereas the ones who are not so happy about it have mostly been quiet, being polite and true to the motto: if you don't have anything nice to say, it is better to not say anything. I am not on Twitter, but I have heard that SOME fans DID protest (some nicely and others not so nicely) and DID ask: what about the ROMANCE. I seem to remember that BK actually had somebody tweet (maybe it was Catherine Ashton) that all that will be delivered in S4. So, he DOES know that not everybody is happy, but it is hard to guess to what extent HE thinks that he has made the beasties happy. He claims that THAT is a priority with him. Personally, I don't think he really cares about the fanbase all that much, because we are the wrong age/gender group. But... that is just my own opinion. And to be honest, I am NOT the mouthpiece of 'the beasties' and I can only deduct from what I read in here and in other forums/social media that there are indeed many fans out there who are quite unhappy - not only with S2, but also with S3. I know I am and I also know that I am very scared about what is going to happen to VinCat in S4 as far as character assassination and again 'being out of character' goes. You mentioned that KK is listed as a producer, but that may or may not mean much. Sherri and Jennifer were listed as producers in S2 and look at the mess we got there...... I am usually a very positive person - glass half full, you know - but in this case I am just not sure anymore. Maybe seeing these two features (let's talk about the other special a bit later, too) has made me realize - and I mean ME PERSONALLY realize - that once TPTB chose to take the show into THIS direction and completely away from what got us hooked in the first place, they will NOT go back or change gears now - I just don't see that happening. Still, this is what we got and whatever they throw at us in S4, it will be the end of the line and of course, we WILL be there....
