Another theory that cross my mind and had to let it out. I know that since I saw the latest episode I have to keep my mind busy, hence I don't have to think about it. So I'm focusing on mythology line. Because if I find reasonable solution that could explain both the epic love and the mythological connection it gives me hope. So my theory now is (maybe later I find another one): the ancient beast was some kind of protector of somebody. That beast protect the gem and it's keeper. They fell in love but something separate them and they never find each other again. So every descendant of this creature and every descendant of this human seek after each other because of their love, and the key is the gem. Now I reread what I wrote and have more question for myself and it sound like a fairytale not mythology but hey it keeps me sane. LOVE IT!!! TORI will be the KEY to the answers they've been seeking both for Catherine and for Vincent. .she just isn't Vincent's pet either lol

I'm pretty sure that 10,000 yrs ago they didn't have iron or whatever metal that collar was made of. No of course not..the beast was being walked around or controlled in the 1800 meaning that such a creature was still around back then..So what happen to it? Extinction? How and for what reason was one kept in a leash? ? Duh!! That makes a lot more sense! It sort of crossed my mind, then I got sidetracked. Also ties in with:

So as long as Tori has it it will have a bad affect on her (11 and 12 ep.) but if the gem is in proper hands it will unfold it's true meaning How's that

Maybe be because Arrow has gained a firm place in the network and doesn't have to worry about being cancel or not at the very last minute. Am sure it's frustrating to have ideas and plans for a whole story with so many arcs supposed to be for 5 seasons and have to scramble everything again at almost the last minute… I'm not defending TPTB here but they are not given a lot to start with, and expected to produce some kind of hit with peanuts (considering the time slot, the lack of promotion, the air time between US n Canada etc) Maybe if the writers are as talented as our fanfic writers then it's be a different story…. That's a valid point, the longer horizon makes a difference. But BATB writers were all going on about how they had an arc for this season, back last fall. And honestly, much as I love the show, BATB has never been *tha<edited> well written. It just feels like they're flailing about. I saw one of the show's people bragging about "lots of twists and turns" in an upcoming episode. I'm not opposed to twists and turns in principle, but when they don't have anything else... it just causes motion sickness. Can't argue that. They often seem to be in their "own world" most of the time... A lot of time their definition of scenes were not the same as the viewers which made us feel like they've lied

"Forever Beasties" have posted their Review of "Ancestors". It's worth bookmarking them as they are always good! They actually address a lot of the things that we've been discussing/disagreeing about on this Forum. So, we are not alone!

If they haven't put it on the page for him, how would he know? From the episodes we have seen it has not been revealed. If he has filmed something we haven't seen, it is not for him to spoil. I thought it was nice he took his time to respond. The writers did answer the questions when asked during the Q&A--so as it turns out he gave good advice.

To quote JT in S1 "Dude is pissed!" lol
That tweet pretty much says everything to me. Jay is as insatisfied with this writing as some of us. Everyone knows Jay, Kristin and Austin were all VinCat shippers, too. It must be as hard for him to see what they're doing with the beautiful story they were telling on S1 turning into this as it is for me.
