OK - 2nd time round (I always get to watch twice on Thursdays) Cat DID have some pretty big balls at the end when she told him his whole idea of "going away" with Alex was just a fantasy. I really, really hope that in the end he CHOOSES Cat - not that she's the one left standing b/c Alex freaks out at seeing Vince Beast out. And Vincent was definitely al me me me me me. I want to be the old Vinnie Keller, the doctor,etc..... not I really missed Alex and want to be with her. So I no longer see Vincent choosing between Cat and Alex. Instead, he's choosing between the "idea/fantasy" of his old life and his current life with Cat.... kinda cool..... OK, newfound appreciation for the writers I just bashed moments ago....

Okay I'm not gonna say anything about Vincent yet..cause I'm still very PISSED off at him but I would like to make a few things I caught on in the episode and something that comes together next week.
I am now more then sure that Both Claire and Alex are Muirfield, We know that writers tend to say things out of context sometimes or somethings have double meaning. So here me out. Like I predicted 3 days before the airing that Claire was Miurfeild here's how I feel that Alex is also working for them...
Ice rink: How did the cops know there was a break in at the ice rink?? ALEX called the cops so Vincent could get caught.
When with the cop
Cop: "Just tell us your name?" Alex: "Just tell him your name Vince" Cop: "Vince there's a start" Is Alex so stupid to say his name? Really??
Then Catherine tells Vincent: Well, Then you know if that cop would have booked you, Muirfield would have been here before the ink dried." Vincent: "Don't you think I know that?"
IN the restaurant when Claire goes to see her BOSS they talk:
"I know how to keep Evan occupied" Boss: "Ignorance is bliss" "We'll get Vincent before the police then Murifield will have everything to move forward." To me We'll is the key word as though she's talking as more then ONE.
And I am also going ahead of the episode here to but in COLD TURKEY how would Muirfield know the exact location of Vincent and the cabin if Alex wasn't involved in some way with Claire? Muirfield again LOL
I may be wrong about Alex but I was right about Claire and my gut tells me this too

Totally agree. I didn't see Vincent choosing Alex, I saw him just missing his old life (being a doctor)

Totally agree. I didn't see Vincent choosing Alex, I saw him just missing his old life (being a doctor) So in other words not so nice he's being a selfish ASS just thinking of himself...I hope Catherine hits him where it hurts LOL and I don't mean by making him grovel either.

Ok, just got done watching. First off, KK was SUPERB in this episode. The one shining bright light in all the heartbreak and angst. She was brilliant with the shrink, whom btw is a hottie. I hope he doesn't end up being a bad guy because I enjoyed his interaction with Catherine...hmm, since Vincent is being such a douche maybe she can hook up with him for a while, lol. Some really fantastic performances in these last 2 episodes for KK! And yes, I HEART that Catherine was snarky with the shrink at times...I like seeing feisty Catherine. And the fact that she finally stood up to Vincent and let him know how foolish he's been since psycho Ex came along....LOVE!!!!
The crime of the week was pretty lame, I really didn't know what was going on there as I was too preoccupied with VinCat..but loved seeing the girls get dressed up!! Both Tess and Catherine looked gorgeous in their dresses and it's too bad Catherine didn't go back to the party...wanted to see more of her in that lovely dress and maybe, just maybe enjoying herself since it was nothing but pain and heartbreak in this eppy for her. Claire being Muirfield? Knew something was fishy when we found out Kelly Overton filmed a scene sometime in November. Have to admit Claire/Evan scene was pretty steamy...I was expecting her to be naked under that trench coat she had on, lol. And agree with the majority, that silly Alex towel dropping scene was SO LAME and totally unnecessary. Did nothing but make Alex look more like a crazy psycho (which I still believe despite them making her "Robin Hood" like I feared they would). Still don't trust Alex and don't care that they made her out to be "Lil Miss Perfect"...there has to be something to VinCat still discussing their reservations about trusting her with the secret if his ass still hasn't told her the truth by "Trust No One". Something fishy there, imo.
And Vincent, or should I say "Vince"!? Very upset with the last conversation between VinCat...here Catherine was pouring her heart out to him and actually saying the words..."I want to be with you and I will fight for you"...and Vincent doesn't seem to give a crap!! He's all "ME, ME, ME"...like he didn't hear a damn word she said!!! ARRRGH!! So damn frustrated with this selfish ass "Vince". Where is the compassionate guy we've seen in the first 9 episodes?! Because the guy we have now is nothing but an inconsiderate and selfish douche. And early in the episode when Vincent said he's known Alex for years and during his childhood, but he's only known Catherine for a couple months?? Really, Vincent?? What about all the countless times including last week when you have reminded Catherine that you have been watching over her for 10 years!? So much so that you say you know her patterns with guys...and now you act like Catherine is just some stranger or something!? WTF?! Catherine may be someone you've only known on a personal level for a couple months..but LOOK at how much she's done for you in these last couple of months!! All the sacrifices she's made just to protect your ass...if that isn't LOVE, I don't know what is!!
Good on Catherine for calling him out for living in fantasy land, because he's a bit delusional thinking he could just run off with Alex and live freely while <edited>ting on the people who have been protecting him all this time. That last conversation was brutal and I just felt so heartbroken for Catherine. And I agree with the others that I didn't feel the magic between VinCat there....Vincent just seemed so "cold and detached"...barely acknowledging the HUGE step Catherine FINALLY took in expressing how she felt about him. It seemed like he just blew that off...very sad and disappointed with that. I'm really curious how the writers mend this and have us believing in Vincent again. Right now, I'm very disappointed in him and his character is tarnished for me. I don't expect him to be perfect, but this Vincent or should I say "Vince" is really pissing me off with his selfish behavior. His "ME, ME, ME" act is getting tiresome and I'm ready for Catherine to go all cold turkey on his ass.
ETA:
And how silly was that ultimatum Vincent gave to Catherine there?! Saying Alex was willing to go away with him and asking Catherine if she would do the same....knowing damn well Alex doesn't know his secret!? And is he really that delusional that he thinks he could just go off into the sunset with Alex without ever having to tell her his secret!? And what if she bails on him when he tells her that secret!? Is he going to go crawl back to Catherine making her his sloppy seconds!? Bleh, like I said...that conversation was infuriating and so damn disappointing. That was so unfair of Vincent to put that out there. Again, his head is up in clouds right now and he's lost his damn mind.

Great emotional episode! Thank god, the scene cut after the towel and Vincent appeared to be freaked out by it lol! I agree with what others say, it's more about his old life than the feelings for Alex... Actually I wonder if he does even have feelings for her in that way... Alex initiated everything- the towel, the skating rink, the almost kiss...the idea of going away together...She was quite persistent at that too, not really taking no for an answer.. Even though there were parts of the ep where you wanted to knock some sense into Vincent...I can see why he did what he did..yes, it was self-fish and he didn't think of the consequences but I think part of him did it also to shut Alex up! Gosh there were scenes with Cat and the shrink, where I really wished Vincent would hear! That would've probably knocked sense into him! I really liked the last scene where Cat was honest. I was thinking 'don't you dare tell you prefer Alex! Don't say it, Don't say it!' lol almost yelled at the tv! At least he said it how it is with the normal life, but when he mentioned Alex at the end leaving her life for him...grrr. Like he still got that identity problem when travelling! To even consider that and how would Cat feel and JT? I hope the psychology guy isn't bad either...great scenes there. Cold turkey should do Vincent good...when he realises cat isn't there to help him and how much she means to him but I do want to see cat more than the 'helper or handler.' We need scenes of them two without cases, escape reality for awhile but not get in trouble like with Alex...like a candlelight dinner at the roof top lol and get to know each other on a personal level and talk random, silly stuff, anything to reassure us cats not the 2nd choice.

Brand new here - saw my first episode last Thurs (24), so I guess I stepped into quite the uproar! Since then, watched all the previous episodes online. Love the show! But am jaded on Vincent now that I saw how he acted in the earlier episodes. Made me wonder what was up with him? Just a theory on the last scene: probably wrong, but I can hope . . . Once Vincent heard what Cat came to say to him, he wanted to act all like "I don't care" so he could push her away. He did this because he is thinking about leaving NY to keep JT and her safe. Sound familiar? Bear with me here - maybe a Twilight New Moon phase to this whole mess? A "For her own safety / protection, I'm going to hurt her so she can move on ..." mindset. Stupid if he thinks this, but we've seen this idea before. Any thoughts?

Stupid if he thinks this, but we've seen this idea before. Any thoughts? If the writers were trying to do a NEW MOON Twilight kind of thing of him leaving to protect those he loved, he didn't have to pick Alex to go and do that....Vincent has had many chances to just walk away and leave JT and Catherine and he never has..so a red head comes in the picture and that changes?

Hmm.. . When Vincent asked Cat at the very end, "Wouldn't you," I thought that he was asking her "Wouldn't you do the same if you were in my position?" and not "Wouldn't you go away with me too?" But I don't know... Am I the only one who saw it that way and am just misinterpreting the scene?
I feel so sad for Cat though! I really want Vincent to choose her as well, not because she's the only one left after Alex--I want her to be hist first choice! I don't know. Maybe he realizes that he isn't the man who he used to be and he just isn't interested in women like Alex any more.
JT was awesome in this episode by the way XD Wooden stakes and whatnot.
edit: Oh, and "Vinnie"? Really? Vince was bad enough, but now Vinnie Keller? This Vincat supporter is not pleased =/

This is random but did anyone notice the band aid on Kristins'/Cats back when she went to the party with Tess? Just curious about that...she was shot at the front right? Am I missing something? And although I loved seeing the special effect of Vincent controlling the beast near the cop car...it looked like someone would notice it ?

ok, so I'm surprised to find my self saying that I really enjoyed this episode. Loved it in fact. However... Vincent, Honey, sweetie, sugar pie! What's up witchu! You aint nevah gonna be able to have yo ol life again brah! It just aint happening! Still, lets say these feelings are understandable. What I don't like is that when this whole live-my-old-life-with-alex thing doesnt work out, because it won't, Vincat's going to seem like they're only there by default because Valex didnt work out so Vincent wants Cathering again. Uh-UH! that DOES NOT work for me. Catherine, sweetie, if Vincent doesn't wanchu, I do because I'm completely in love witchu! and I dont even get down like that! I'm sooooo...idk proud of Catherine. She showed so much courage in putting herself out there with Vincent, and that foo can/t even see what's right in front of him. Honestly, I don't care if I have to wait ten more episodes for these two to kiss. They need to make Vincent work for Catherine's love. No wonder he's tryna be all romantic in the future episodes! With all of his asinine behavior towards our lovely beauty, he deserves to suffer a bit, even some jealousy if possible. Still, I have to say, if I'm upset, it's not at the writers. It's a good kind of upset. I'm upset at Vincent for being an arse, but I still want them to be together. I feel...hooked. I love that! p.s. after tonights episode, I wish my username was Catherinefan!

The bullet went right through..if you watch Seeing Red when she's on the ground on the road blood is coming out of her back too.

You all have summed up VinCat marvelously, well done everyone. Definitely going to be very interesting to see how the writers redeem Vince.
This article has really captured my interest. Yet, this one part of his article is really irritating the hell out of me. Beauty and the Beast: Vincent Chooses Between Alex and CatherineJust wish the writers did not leave the door open for Alex to come back.www.rr.com/tv/topic/article/rr/51528047/80939442/Beauty_and_the_Beast_Vincent_Chooses_Between_Alex

Still processing everything and going to watch it a second time.
But what has been bothering me is Claire's character. When I saw the corrupted DNA, I thought that Muirfield had caught on and did something through computer to do that but then again no. When the next scene was on Claire and what she said about how "we'll get to Vincent before the police and Muirfield will have everything to move forward" Move forward to kill him or capture Vincent and move forward to continue the Muifield operation by using him as a test dummy or use his DNA to make more super soldiers. Using Vincent to perfect the whole operation that went bad. Then might use Evan to be on their team to help with the cross-species DNA.
"Muirfield will have EVERYTHING to move forward." What is everything exactly? I could be over thinking but it is an interesting thought and with the writers I have learned to read between the lines and dig deeper for meaning. Am I the only one that thought that?

I too sensed that there's more to just capturing Vincent and killing him to cover the project..I thik they are either working to make a better super soldier or already have them...I'm hoping we get some much needed info on this before the end of the season.
