My take on that was that Catherine is PUSHING HIM away...cause she refuses to admit what she knows she feels. All this playing out while Catherine is trying to deal with her own feelings. I think that when she has to save Vincents ass cause of him being reckless is when that wall begins to crumble inside of her...seeing the fact that he's willing to jeopardize his life to be with ALEX is a BIG jolt that makes Catherine accept the fact that she can LOSE HIM That's why the scene at the firing range is so powerful cause for the first time..SHE has admitted that she has FEELINGS for the most complicated guy on the planet! Thus the desperation that she is losing him to someone else. By the end ..when she confesses she loves Vincent and the shrink tells her to take a leap of faith and tell him how she feels....It's too late...but why? Basically cause when Vincent wanted to TALK about THEM she would brush it off...in a way SHE PUSHED HIM AWAY and made him so confused...Cause now he not only had stepped foot in LA LA LAND thanks to Alex but he wasn't sure he wanted to back to what he already knows. Does the phrase "You don't know what you have until you lose it??" This is what happens to Catherine, that is HER wake up call... The same line "You don't know what you have until you lose it??" is going to apply to Vincent in Cold Turkey..His wake up call is calling...it will be in what form?? I dunno but he will be rocked..It's the only way to wake him up from his LA LA Land fantasy. Sorry for the rant.. and I'm sure I'll have a view that will disagree with me on this so I expect backlash.. ..It's okay cause I enjoy different views... Yolanda Yolanda, I find your points very thought-provoking... I agree that Catherine has pushed Vincent away. Seems to be her method of self-protection. I recall several incidents prior to the last 2 episodes, where Catherine cuts Vincent off before he can finish - most notably in Worth, when they're in her apartment, and Vincent, on JT's advice, has come to "tell her how he really feels"... but she won't let him finish, and, in fact, twists it to mean that he's trying to "let her down easy". My point is that Catherine, up until On Thin Ice, is trying to protect herself from getting hurt and would rather change the subject than hear harsh words from Vincent. Even though, in fact, he may have been trying to express the opposite. Interestingly, they both play at this game (the opening scene of Worth is a prime example, and one of my favs) where they assume they know what the other is going to say, or is trying to say, and create all kinds of misunderstandings. That's what makes Cat's scenes with the shrink so striking - he pins her down and she finally processes it all and comes out with the bottom-line truth - she loves Vincent. Notice in the final scene, Cat says she needs to be honest with Vincent , he says he needs to be honest with her... all this honesty, and yet, we're still in a mess! Can't wait to see how the plot turns (and twists, and turns) this Thursday!

I wish I had more time to transfer everything over here, but I have to get back to this mock exam because I have to finish it & get it mailed off before 4pm today! Eeek! But here's my take on the final convo between Vincent & Cat in this episode: thejacki.tumblr.com/post/42273643720/batb-recap-when-vincent-put-cat-in-the-friend-zone*Warning to new forum members: I like to rant, use GIFs, and my posts are a bit snarky (but not in hateful way; the posts are meant to entertain, not offend)* Here's my take on the convo between Vincent & Cat in the previous episode, since it's referenced in my episode 11 rant, figured I'd include it too: thejacki.tumblr.com/post/41954969554/what-i-wish-cat-had-said-to-vincent-at-the-end-ofI will say that I am happier with Cat in this episode. She seems to be getting her backbone back. In episode 10, she wasn't her usual self, but then again, she was dealing with a lot including the fact that she almost died. (Not that Vincent seemed to remember that...ugh) Still I have to agree with other posters that the writers are unnecessarily dragging this out and not only that, but they are re-writing Vincent's character COMPLETELY just for the sake of this S/L. It doesn't make sense at all. This isn't Vincent acting conflicted; this is Vincent being a jerk. Okay, gotta go for now. Rant more with you guys later!!

Just a thought when re-watching episode 11. When Vincent's phone rang when he was in Cats apartment made me wonder. You remember in episode 3 'All in' how hesitant he was to give Cat his phone number. But no hesitation was shown I assume to give Alex his phone number. How did she know to call him. He must have given her his phone number too. I guess it wasn't such a secret after all if he was dishing it out so freely.

As always, Jacki, I am in agreement with you. It was Vincent's CHARACTER that drew me in ... you know, kinda shy, reserved, heartbroken, withdrawn, hesitant. His eyes would slowly close when Catherine touched his face as if her touch could heal. Now he is a man about town with a cell phone and has Alex on speed dial? Whoa ... it was like that happened between "how are you" and "I am fine" .... I don't care how many exs he may have or how many things that will come between them. I agree with the writers that life is messy, yada yada ... Just don't mess with the integrity of the character. I don't recognize him anymore.

Exactly ..my main point here is NOT that Vincent became a TOTAL ASS overnight but the fact that it was triggered by Cat's fears and closed emotions...Does this make it right that he HURT and now sort of regected her?? Of course not! But PAYBACK is gonna be so sweet for US cause I'm sure Catherine's <edited> side is gonna make it HARD for him....Or at least I hope so!

I finally saw the episode.
I was surprised that Catherine was talking so openly to the therapist about her boyfriend. I guess she knew how things worked and that it was all confidential.
I too agree with many that it sure looks as if Vincent has changed some.
At the beginning, he realizes that JT and Catherine has sacrificed and worked hard to help him. Yet, he asked Catherine at the end what she is willing to do. Hello!!! Where did that come from. Just because Alex has decided to run away with him. Tell her the real truth about yourself Vincent. Tell her your secret and then see if she is willing to go.
By the way debbyts, the therapist is HOT! I kept looking at him up and down. He is familiar.
