I haven't read the other replies yet but I will after I post. The reason I've not posted as much this season is because I've been behind in the eps, but I'm finally caught up and looking forward to Thursday...now that the season is half over....
Anyway, Hmmmmm, I'm going to start with questions.
How did JT know they were leaving town? Followed the trail they were purposely leaving? I missed that. Also Vincent dropped his phone at the beginning? Dumb plot point or bread crumb? Did they mention this again or did I see it wrong?
Interesting (cool?) of them to use Niagra Falls since they're close to it filming.
I like that Vincent wanted the wedding he feels they deserve. His intensity about the wedding was endearing to me.
Dang, Heather's gonna have a lifetime of trust issues. A job interview pickoff? Her looks were flawless btw imo. I wonder if Nicole liked really getting in on the action. I kind of got a sad lip when she was so upset about spilling secrets. "They threatened to kill me" and saying she had never been beaten up before. Heather is my cinnamon roll, so I get extra feely for her.
Everybody standing up for their beliefs! Tess had a right to fight for her new job and the need to be put first for once. JT fought for what he believes in - that this could be THE lab. Vincent fighting for that wedding and the quality of their lives while they dodge these threats (also quality of life for his patients, but not really this ep). Catherine fighting for justice and getting their lives back, protecting those she loves by putting a bullseye on her back (V too). Heather fighting for her life back, wondering where she fits in without Miami, Matthew and her sister's apartment, in a city full of scary super humans.
Yeah, they disagree, they talk it out. A lot. Yes, sometimes the dialogue repeats within the same ep even. I could do with less of that, but I love these strong characters sticking up for themselves, opening up, communicating. And they respect each other. They admit it when they screw up and I can get behind that.
Vincent's purple and green comic-booky wedding attire was a win in my book.
As for Cat, her mind was REALLY on the mission and removing this threat. She epitomizes the word "singleminded". I totally get where she was coming from - that a wedding wasn't overly romanticized in her home, and to her in general, but after she really thought about it, she did want to make a bigger deal of the wedding. I think it is important that they examine what it is that they want. I personally don't like weddings at ALL, and I had a tiny, very private one, but I would have been a great candidate for eloping, and would have been fine with it. So I get that notion that the magical, bigger wedding doesn't necessarily appeal to everyone.
I loved the last scene because I love when they get a chance to slow down: their lives, their speech, their lines. KK (imho) is at her absolute best when she is able to pace herself, and that scene sparkled. Catherine is so fierce and driven. I just love it.
Jay is killin' it this year. I feel like all of them are. But Jay stands out to me because he has Vincent just radiating compassion and he brings this pacing and deliberation to everything when Cat goes into singleminded mode. I think it works for them, because Catherine is like 99% correct about the crap that's going down. She has bad-guy radar or some magic power, because she knows when the crap is going to hit the fan. Better together and all that.
Supporting characters ftw! JT sciencing them all out of danger by steroid-testosteroning Beast into overdrive. Yay, science! Then Cat went into overdrive and I found it SO interesting that Beast calmed down once he saw her ferocity.
Yes, some of the plot felt a little herky-jerky to me, but Idk, I just kind of sat back for the ride, and I just am honestly really into these strong, passionate characters.
Tesssssssssss omg. I loved her speech to JT. I mean, it's like this Beast hunt scary thing they're living through has no solution. You have to be all in, yet it costs so much to be all in. She stood up for her needs and that has to happen to have healthy relationships. I'm not a huge JTess shipper at all, but I do appreciate the actors' chemistry and scenes together and I like them as a team in a general way, so awwwww. Sometimes you can do the right thing and it still take a toll on your relationship. Catherine knows this!
Okay, I'll stop.
