It was an OKish to good episode. Maybe I'll have more to say after sleeping and thinking about it. Frantic and frenetic Cat is back dragging Vincent along to Niagara Falls in an effort to lure this new threat out of town away from the friends and family. I think the episode is on relationships, with Vincent and Cat very far apart initially concerning their wedding; Vincent wants the proper church wedding and memories like his parents while Cat just brushes it off and really isn't listening to his concerns and needs. But in the end they are on the same page (hence the fireplace scene in the previews). But the other relationship i.e. JTnT goes all to hell, cos JT is more concerned about helping Vincent than understanding what all this is costing Tess. Poor Tess. I didn't feel their connection this season, but Nina played their break up quite believably. I feel sorry for that girl. She's got more responsibility as Captain, trying to do her work, yet getting caught up in all this beast stuff and her boyfriend is NOT being supportive at all. You deserve it, JT! And Heather gets to be more part of the story since she gets kidnapped by the people behind the experiments but gets to help save VinCat. Some more tantalising info about the mythological mysteries cos the current baddies believe that VinCat are working for someone else. I think (and this is only my personal opinion) that it's like two different rivals both working on developing the serum. This episode's baddie thinks VinCat work for a rival, but there are a few things not explained, like how they got hold of the serum etc. And they don't seem to know who Catherine Chandler i.e. daughter of Vanessa Chandler is, so no links or access to Muirfield's data. Cat also beasted out (yes Cat, while Vincent managed to control himself after going primal without help) and bashed the baddie into a coma, so no answers for a while at least. It was bridge episode, setting groundwork for the rest of the season, with the JTnT break up probably the biggest thing happening. So an OK episode, but can I say again that I wish frantic Cat was not back?

It was good. I'll take VinCat anyway I can have them, but something felt off or missing this episode can't put my finger on exactly what it was. But overall, I enjoyed it. Love how passionate V was about getting married the right way. And loved the final VinCat scene...altho it was to short. And I'm feeling for JT&T. I can't believe Tess broke up with him. Personally, I never thought that Tess deserved JT. I feel like she's always so self righteous & sometimes doesn't care about the bigger things that are going on around her.

Thank you tonysol and jefferen for these tidbits of recaps. It keeps me from going a bit insane. I really appreciate it. Also: Cat also beasted out (yes Cat, while Vincent managed to control himself after going primal without help) and bashed the baddie into a coma, so no answers for a while at least. WHAT?? Are you serious about "Cat also beasted out...." I mean, like Vincent kind of Beast or did she just become "Super Fighting Machine Cat??

No, no more like 2x21 when she killed he who must not be named again!
She really lost it, tied up and helpless while they were going to kill Vincent in front of her eyes. Cat always needs to be in control and keep everyone safe and I think after last week where she got some closure about her mom's death, the thought of losing Vincent really drove her over the edge when she got free. Man she really did a number on the baddie and you could see the shocked looks on JT, Heather and Vincent's faces. KK's wild eyed look at the end was very convincing.
On a side note I hope tptb never stray down that path where Cat gets real beast abilities. I know KK doesn't like it based on interviews she's given and it's been done to death before (even Lana had Clark's powers for while for those SV fans who remember) but I wouldn't like it.

Shew........thanks, I am glad you explained that. OOhh........I love when Cat goes in Fighting Machine Mode! Can't wait. I think the day they make Cat a "real Beast", the show has jumped the shark! I wouldn't like it either. JT&T broke up?? I am kind of sad about that. I was hoping they would try a bit harder. Oh well......we'll see how it plays out.

So "both sides now" then must refer to the fact that there are actually TWO ultimate big bads trying to compete to perfect the serum? So is this the corporation that WANTS to capture Vincent or kill him, thinking he works for the other corporation?
And while I DON'T want Cat to become a Beast by any means, I wouldn't mind some type of LINK being found to exist between VinCat with possible psychological implications (a sort of homage to the original BATB series from the 80's).
Sigh. I can tell this episode is CLEARLY not nearly as good as the last one, as the previous episode had people racing to their computers to talk about it. THAT IS the one really bad thing about all of Season 3 being previously filmed before the first episode aired, as it means they CAN'T change the direction or tone to the episodes based on the fans' reaction. At least with Season 2, the Powers That Be (i.e. Kern) realized he had made a GRAVE error with the whole s/he that shall NO LONGER be named and changed directions to kill off said people rather than lingering with relationships the BATB universe of fans would NOT support. (Still felt so much longer than it actually was on my viewing screen.)
Well, any other details would be greatly appreciated, as I cannot picture the JTnT break-up yet since no one has gone into details about just how JT was unsupportive of Tess. I figure more details will be forthcoming from the Canadians, once they have had a chance to stew a little more over the episode.
(And as a Sidenote, did anyone read the 2nd BATB novel? They mention a corporation BY NAME that is into developing the serum and experimenting on individuals. The novels were meant to come out at certain points in the season, but the CW pushed the date of the premiere forward so much but apparently didn't delay the novel. Just wondering if anyone knows if the books are supposed to be in any way tied-in to the show OR are completely separate entities.)

And I can see why Cat would have been "triggered" to kill, so to speak. Prior to Vincent, her mother was the closest person in her life, and she had to witness her getting murdered before her very eyes. AND she felt she was to blame. So if SHE is the one to convince Vincent to leave in the first place, it would definitely be a case of virtual Deja Vu for Cat. So I can see her completely losing it when faced with AGAIN losing the person she loves most in the world, right in front of her, AND feeling like it was again her fault. Only SO MUCH a person can take before snapping.
