It's really too bad that we had to wait 11 episodes to feel the romance between Vincent and Catherine and this was almost worth the wait. I have to say that Tess has certainly been the more stylish of our two ladies this year. I don't know who said what to Catherine Ashton that ticked her off a few weeks back, but the tactless offender did have a point. I'm thinking she should have spent less time on Twitter and more time working on Catherine's wardrobe. The wedding gown choice wasn't an epic fail, but it seemed a bit much considering how slim Catherine is. I liked that Heather's dress picked up on the beading of Cat's dress, albeit in a less busy way, but other than that, Cat's dress would not have been my choice. Nor the butterfly pin (or whatever that was) slapped in the back of her head. Catherine is not fussy and that dress was just freakin' fussy. Okay, I'm getting off the dress now. JT giving it to Vincent straight. Loved it. Only your BFF can cut through the crazy and remain unfazed. Also, the dynamic between Vincent and JT never gets old and really never NOT works. I liked how Vincent casually reached for JT's beer bottle and twisted off the cap during their one-on one. It was a nice touch and illustrated (showed didn't tell) the differences between the two. I don't subscribe to the theory that Liam was contemplating Catherine's "you can change" speech. Liam gave me every impression that he was ready to strike, just like he did with his "sister." Liam was cold, calculating and enjoyed hurting people. Five minutes of Catherine wasn't going to make any difference to someone who had spent centuries wantonly killing. And the only way that Vincent could take Liam out and survive was to catch him off guard and show no mercy. Which he did. I liked it. I liked the clean, simplicity of Liam's end. I don't think Catherine will ever get used to seeing Vincent, in full beast mode, kill someone without thought or care. And she shouldn't. She knows that side is there, but it should never be easy to see the beast in action and not feel horror and fear. Yet, the minute Vincent stands down, she is there for him in every way possible. She's glad he's safe. She's glad it's over. She's glad they're both whole and together. Kudos to Vincent's beast make-up this year. It is the one effect that has most improved over season 1. Other Vincent mentions...I can't remember the scene, but I just love it when Vincent rolls his eyes in anger/disgust at someone. Am I the only one who thinks he's hot? No, didn't think so. LOL I also love the quiet menace of Vincent's "Do you really think you could stop me?" to the gung-ho DHS agent. That guy really annoyed me and I was glad when Liam ripped him to shreds. And no Vincent drool paragraph would be complete without a swoon for the return of THE chest. I know I didn't spend much time on Catherine this post, but she was mostly perfect...the Cat of old...r ight up until she tried to play beast whisperer with Liam. I mean that's part of Cat to be sure, but after everything Liam had done...really, Catherine? Really? Sometimes her optimism borders on the idiotic. But I loved her interaction with everyone this episode...especially Vincent. I could feel her love and worry for him in every scene. I loved how she held on to both his hands when he was leaving her at the hospital. I thought she was going to rip Russo's head off after Vincent had been shot. I'm actually sort of looking forward to Season 4. I hope all the howls and complaints about the lack of romance and Vincat magic this season have reached the ears of the writers, directors and show runners. It would be a shame if they pissed us off two seasons in a row.On bold period: Ditto! maybe that twitter user was too harsh or direct to explain her opinion, but the she was right anyway. They both look older and even if I understand the use of dark color (opposite to Heather colorful dresses) she could have combined them better (that aubergine color is very ). Cat's first wedding dress was way better than the last, it suited more to Cat's semplicity. I could have given a point to the last dress only if it had been Rebecca's dress as someone said (but I don't know if it is possible, it wasn't explained) For me they showed that JT needs Vincent to open the bottle to say that even if JT injected himself with Liam's serum to save his life, it didn't give him strenght so now JT is a normal person as he was before the end of S2. NO you are definetly not alone: Vincent is hot in a lot of things that normally made other person funny or even annoying to watch as rolling eyes, eating.. I don't think Cat wanted to redeem Liam for real, she was just trying to made him weaker while waiting for Vincent's assault.
Last but not least... I hope that too with all my heart. IMO people asking for some more VinCat moments are totally right. in fact this season they had very few time together alone without Heather, superhumans etc and I would like to see a little bit more. What I have found a little bit annoying on Twitter is that some users repeat themselves a lot of time with the same twitt in every occasion, even when VinCat love or the lack of it is not related to the story. only my thought: in the last two episodes Cat is conscious that she may lose Vincent because Liam is stronger and Vincent is conscious that every time could be the last time he will see Cat, so their fears and reactions are at an high level and both show strong feelings of rage, love and so on; before they were quite confident that they could defeated their enemies but they weren't able to enjoy what they had waiting only for the big danger Yes, I think Cat must have been pretty scared as she didn't know at this point if Vincent was alive and coming to save her. I think she was playing mind games with Liam and trying to delay him from killing her. I think she was clever to talk of Rebecca as I think that last look Liam gave her may have been him remembering Rebecca and how he used to feel about her. The stalling techniques of Cat may have saved her life because just imagine what would have happened if Vincent got there and found Liam had killed her already. She did talk early on in the episode with Tess about appealing to Liam's better nature, trying to remind him of the man he was before he crossed the Primal Line so she MAY have been trying to 'save' him but I think delaying her own death was more likely to be her motive at this point.

I loved the little homage they did to the orginal for me as soon as they showed Cat walking into it it was like I was back living at home settling down to watch the orginal beast it was so spot on in the detail of the things they had in their gave me some lovely memories and I just wish they had given more nods to the actual essence of the beauty and her beast. I have already said this but I loved the colour of Cat's dress and how it flowed at the back but like many the beading was just that bit to much for me especially around the neck and would have liked to see perhaps a few whispers of hair coming down on Cat's face as I'm not a fan of the bun for me personally I think it ages her to much but that's just me. Hands down I liked this wedding more than the big formal church one they tried to have, I get why Vincent wanted that but realistically the rooftop is just to special a place for it not to have been a option and Cat and Vincent too honestly looked more happier and in love on that spot then they did in the church.I don't think Vincent necessarily wanted a big, church wedding. I just think he wanted their wedding to be magical and romantic and to share it with their best friends and Heather, which is what they did. Let's face it, the conveyor belt that was the Niagara Falls Wedding Services was about as impersonal as it gets. There was no romance and no privacy, with the next couple waiting a few feet away. The woman 'selling' the weddings was rude and made it clear it was all about the money, shouting 'NEXT' while they were still at the counter and the comment about Vincent being a foreigner, just trying to get a green card summed it up for me. People trying to do that probably form the majority of their customers. Surely, no-one really in love would want to marry their sole-mate in such circumstances. What was Cat thinking??? They were always going to get married on that roof-top. It's where they spent hours getting to know one another, shared their first epic kiss, had romantic pic-nics, made up (after their break-up) made out, made love (must have missed that episode - damn it!!) and eventually got engaged. I swear that if Cat ever went into premature labour and gave birth to a beautiful bouncing, beastie baby, it would happen on that roof top aswell. The wedding was intimate, magical, romantic and perfect with all the right people in attendance and I am sure it lived up to Vincent's expectations, every but as much as a big church wedding would have. Infact, it probably exceeded them.

There are so many spoilers out there on social media, how could the CW be so foolish to let Showcase air two weeks early? E.g. From Instagram... But I love this episode, it made S3 oh so worth it!

A few random thoughts about this episode... <snip> - IMHO, Cat looked far more radiant in this wedding compared to Shotgun Wedding and this wedding dress has grown on me. It is a very pretty and elegant looking dress. But as I stated before, it has an old century charm to it that made me think perhaps it belonged to Rebecca. I wonder if pippin can find anything in the scripts to support or debunk that theory. <snip> <snip> Agree about the dress. I really liked it. There were a lot of beads on it but the bottom part flowed beautifully and accentuated her slender legs and frame. The back was lovely. <snip> My first reaction to the dress was like "Huh? Interesting choice, but why would Cat choose that one?" Then I thought, hmmm, maybe it was Rebecca's, since it has that Victorian era look and elegance too it. Or I could even go with pippin's idea, that maybe it was Vanessa's. But each time I see it, it continues to grow on me and I like it more and more. I also like how Heather was dressed like a "mini me" version. Now I think perhaps C Ashton or TPTB wanted a "fairy tale" like look, something out of the ordinary, and I must say looking at the dress as a whole it does flow beautifully. The perfect way to punctuate the fairy tale! Here's a screen cap I did on my own.

It could be that some of the angles when the scene was shot were not really flattering and didn't do the dress justice.

Frantic Cat and Vincent! How would Liam know all about the past Beast Kills exactly?? I love how Curt Windsor was buried with his same "heart ripped out" shirt! I knew as soon as I saw the body it was Windsor. Didn't they have a proper burial for such a wealthy man? Weird. I guess Liam clued Homeland Security in about what was going on in the cemetery? Why would they arrest JT? What do they know? Look at all that snow........looks so cold. No Vincent.........DO NOT tell them you are a BEAST!! Why is it that VinCat look so attractive out in the cold......Love the hugs!! Oh NO......Vincent just Beast-Out in front of the HS guys! What are you thinking.......Bad move, I just know it! LIAM!! Just killed the HS guy!! What a Baddie! Rooftop Garage scene!!! Vincent SHOT! Oh Dear Lord!! VINCENT's HEART STOPPED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH HELL NO! NO NONONONONONONOOoooooooooooo!! I saw the pic of Vincent in the hospital, he better not be dead! CPR Vincent!! JT to the rescue. Inject him JT,......Inject him JT!!! I love how JT just did a massive Chest Thump and Vincent comes back to life. (even though he was shocked twice!) I like this Homeland Security guy......HE BELIEVES! So Liam goes after Cat. Nice fight scene.......Go Cat! Heather pepper sprays Liam. Come on, Liam could have snapped her like a twig. Liam takes Cat through the patio door. Now that pic of the set up for that scene I saw earlier today makes sense. I love how Vincent's first thought is Catherine! Nice job Heather spraying Liam........cute little kiss from Vincent. Didn't mind that AT ALL! Liam's Lair!! Below the city! Catherine's speech trying to convince Liam that it isn't too late to change. Sounds like the Cat of Season 1! I almost thought Liam was going to soften up and try to kiss her. Then............Vincent Beast rips Liam's heart out!!!!!!!! WTH! I guess he had that element of surprise! BUT ........BOO....it was over so quickly. A little disappointed. Homeland Security............so they blamed everything on Liam?? "GENIE IS OUT OF THE BOTTLE!!" Now HS knows about Vincent!! Bar scene from the pics! Boy are they Giddy and Drunk! VINCAT WEDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :beauty: I need to watch this again to give a full review. But overall, I liked it. I actually wish they had had more of Liam. He was an awesome Baddie and I liked his interaction with both Vincent and Catherine. I wish his demise was more eventful, he deserved it. Not a fan of the "ripped out heart" thing again. Been there, done that. What happened to the gem? Did it not work on Liam. I know I missed something. So sad..........the season is over. Have lots of mixed feelings about the whole season. But I will write more later. Goodnight Beasties!

The show just ended for me and WOW!!! I honestly did not want the episode to end!!! Season 4 is totally going to be unexpected now that the GENIE IS OUT OF THE BOTTLE and our VinCat finally got married! By the way, absolutely loved Cat's dress especially the back!!! Good Night Sweet Sister Beastie Suzieq ❤️ Beastie! Looking forward to some more of your thoughts and I too are going to how a rewatch but I think before we have such a long wait until Season 4, I am going to go back into Season 1 and work my way back to the Season 3 finale just to submerge myself in BATB so I can make it without VinCat, JT, Tess and Heather until Season 4!

My Dear Rebecca and Alistair were honored by their ancestors by fulfilling their mission to deal with Liam once and for all! Now in Season 4 lets address the details of Rebecca's journal, the relevance of the skeleton with the collar in Kurt Windsor's hidden room and of course the GEM!!! If Season 4 is going to be our last, writer bring it and bring it strong!!! I just love my VinCat, JT, Tess and my dearest Heather now has a special place in my heart! If they match her up with someone I hope they bring back Aaron or bring in someone like him if that is not asking too much!

As always, I am the last to the party! FINALLY saw the episode and am just now getting back up to the office to post about it (and my freaking computer is on the fritz!) Having to post from another office computer. But TOTALLY worth it. LOVED the episode!
What I loved about it:
OH ArwenFan---
Okay, HOW did you not LOVE the Liam/Catherine interaction if for no other reason than the comments from Catherine that VINCENT was responsible for making his own choices to stay human rather than attributing their love as the reason he came back from the primal abyss. As the words used between Liam and Catherine were practically identical to some of our posts from Season 2 on the original Everything Thread, it was nice to see that the showrunners ALSO thought to argue the point. Vincent IS self-actualized and saved himself. BUT Catherine than gave him a reason for prizing his humanity and not succumbing to despair.
So Catherine doesn't claim to be the reason for Vincent's humanity--she credits HIM with fighting to retain his humanity AND to make the internal decision that Love was worth fighting for. And you see another reason WHY she loves Vincent so much, BECAUSE he is a strong man that fought for his beliefs and moral code as well as for love. SO I FREAKING LOVED THIS SCENE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW have more people NOT commented on its significance?
So I LOVED the Catherine/Liam interaction. Unlike others, I think Catherine actually WAS getting to Liam. The main problem for Liam has been that he has always suffered alone. And Rebecca was NOT motivated to save him once Alistair was dead. So she never would have tried to appeal to his humanity or save him. Catherine, being one step removed (and still hoping Vincent was alive), could still care enough to try to save Liam.
I LOVED how Liam tries to call Catherine out on just trying to save herself, but Catherine states that she is motivated by more than that and wants to save him. MADE ME THINK OF "Worth," and I NEVER mind comparisons to Season 1. For the first time, Liam seems to realize the simple value of human companionship, if for no other reason then to have someone to whine to about how ill-used he has been. How very 18th century of you Liam! But I still loved how Catherine made him think differently. And the love that Liam had for Rebecca was still there, deep down.
The really tragic thing about Liam is how influential his early years truly were. His abandonment issues by his parents were triggered by Rebecca choosing Alistair over him, and fueled by his already incessant drive for revenge, the beast-rage just took over. And Liam willingly surrendered to it. But all it got him was suffering. And still more suffering. AND KILLING REBECCA obviously did NOTHING for Liam--she still has a hold on him from the grave.
THE WAY JASON GEDRICK PLAYED THAT WHOLE SCENE! The LOOK he was giving Catherine. Liam would have kept her alive, I am convinced. He would have "justified" his action by saying that he wanted her to suffer. BUT the truth is that he CLEARLY enjoys the arguing and her company. He never tries to silence Catherine. And he is so FOCUSED ON CATHERINE and determining if she REALLY CARES about saving him, that he TOTALLY IGNORE VINCENT'S PRESENCE, WHICH FROM PAST EPISODES, we KNOW he can sense Vincent. So he SHOULD have known Vincent was coming. PLUS, he had all that surveillance equipment. But he CAN'T, due to being so honed-in on Catherine.
NOTE for the following DISCLAIMER. This next paragraph contains my WISH LIST for future season(s) plotline. It is TOTAL SPECULATION and based on NO SPOILERS. So I am JUST GIVING THE POTENTIAL that Liam COULD have. With that said, I will say it now--I wish Liam could have just escaped. HOWEVER, we know that the ORIGINAL Muirfield WAS working on re-animating tissue, etc. I could TOTALLY see a WONDERFUL potential FUTURE SEASON plot of finding out that former Muirfield scientists working in tangent with the government had found a way to USE a beast's healing powers in such a way as to bring back Liam, all in an attempt to control such a powerful Beast, Reynolds and Sam-style, that goes horribly wrong when Liam CAN'T be controlled. And I would have EVAN be the tip-off that Muirfield had already been working on this at the time of Evan's original death. He would also have had the gene, and we would therefore FIRST see Evan alive AND then follow-up on Liam ALSO being still alive. And thinking that Catherine betrayed them, would be interesting to see them both possibly team up or decide to target Vincent, etc. SO MANY POSSIBILITIES if these two could ONLY be brought back!!!!!
So LOVED the whole Liam stuff. From beginning to end.
AND IT LOOKED LIKE THE 80'S TUNNELS!!! RIGHT DOWN TO THE GATE AND THE CANDLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WAS FREAKING IN HEAVEN!!!!!!!!!!! Even Liam's BED looked like Vincent's! PLUS the desk, the books, the odds and ends. They were ONLY missing the stained-glass window!!!!! Such a WONDERFUL nod to the original series, HAD THE ORIGINAL VINCENT NOT BEEN SAVED and adopted. The original Vincent was ALSO ABANDONED outside of a NY hospital, so you get to see the COMPARISON of someone GIVEN LOVE and someone always denied love.
Sigh. I could go on all night on this episode.
