I love how they are all making fun of Cat & her obsession w/ the journal

Good effect with having Knox killed right as Cat calls. And her realizing it is Gabe breathing into the phone with her. So creepy wicked! And Vincent just seeing the look on Cat's face --specially since he had just wanted to run off and go after Gabe in the first place.
And I like that Cat finally admits that she "despises" Gabe in this episode in her talk with Vincent. 221 was the episode that Catherine FINALLY came fully to terms with who Gabe was.

Love the Ralister scene where Rebecca is taking care of Alistair’s wounds. So sweet & touching. Love that Rebecca is taking charge.
Alistair screaming out to Rebecca as she leaves the dungeon gets me every time.

Jefferen,
I'm like you. WHY would JT want to discuss his relationship with Tess RIGHT THEN. I mean, they know Gabe is out of control and coming after people. It may be because JT was made to feel so little in the previous scene when Tess rebuked him and told him to go back to his "little lab," as if he was not as important as the rest of the team. Tess taking things out on JT in a bad moment triggered his feelings of inadequacy, at the worst possible time.
I, too, love the Bob Reynolds and Cat moment in the jail. It is a real TURNING POINT in their relationship. For the first time, he is actually working WITH his daughter. I LOVE this. Puts Bob Reynolds' interactions with Cat during next Season in a totally new light. You believe, at least here, that he will be an ally for them FINALLY. (I guess the wedding will be a real testing point--either Bob has REALLY changed his tune or he has not.)

Gabe goading Vincent. And that evil grin! Sendhil just does evil so well. Though I do wonder why they made his hair perfect in this scene. Should have been messed up like it was at that point last season.

Cat has so much willpower. If V was giving me the sad tortured face V was giving Cat, I know I wouldnt be able to walk awayy from him

Love the sequence of Cat planting V’s blood & it flashes back & forth between past & present cultivating at Alistair being burned at thhe stake & Rebecca seeing it, & Cat realizing she needs yo save V before its too late. The whole sequence was so well done & portrayed beautifully by Jay & KK. It’s one of my favorite scenes of the whole series. Gets me every time.

I kind of get why they mock Catherine about the journal. I did feel it was the weakest link regarding this episode. I really didn't feel I saw enough on screen to be involved and moved regarding Rebecca. Sigh. Felt this was resolved too quickly.
I would really like to find some history about WHY Rebecca and Alistair were drawn together, how he became a beast, who all was after him, how one beast found the other, etc. I get that they wanted to wrap the storyline up in case there was no Season 3. Still wish they would have given us less Tori and Sam and more of the history/ancestry/mythology stuff. After all, Rebecca says that maybe it was her "destiny" to kill the beast. History/Ancestry/mythology stuff deals with that whole "destiny" angle. Which appeals to me--epic love and destiny intertwined. Would have made a stronger ancestral link.

And how Cat thought they would be safer splitting up. At least as a group, the four of them at least outnumbered Gabe.

I love how V just turns to mush when Cat asks for forgiveness. He just cant be mad at her.

I do love the theme that trying to protect a particular person can bring the whole thing to a disastrous conclusion. The lovers MUST work together and trust one another with one unified plan. Or else. Somehow, I think that Season 3 will continue to build on this same theme. Otherwise, you get the blood on your hands of your lover (in this case, literally), having failed to save said lover due to ego/planning on one's own--not trusting in the epic love.

And I like that Tess admits that Cat has that rare kind of love that people strive for. And admits she wants that same kind of epic love herself.

I wish we got more history/mythology then we did. I loved Ralister, but I probably couldve loved them more if they gave us more of them & their history. I still want to know more about them, but it will probably never happen
