could be. Hopefully its not something that just falls off the face of BATB and becomes another plot twist with no payoff Well they tied the Sheckmen murder well...we knew that he had died and it took a whole season and a half to give us the answers so not all is plot twist that did have payoff True. LOL. Lets just hope it doesn't take that long I hate wen things are left up in the air. lol

That IS one of the beautiful themes of this season: it is not enough to just SAY that you love someone. You HAVE to follow it with actions. In 216, you have the acknowledgement, the WORDS "I Love You," and the romance. Episode 217 is all about the ACTIONS that prove the Love, including self-sacrifice and the willingness to endure pain if it means a long-term goal of being together. They really WILL overcome any obstacles. AND both Vincent and Catherine refuse to regret OR resent the other person for what has come before as long as they are committed to their love and Moving Forward Together. Each has True FAITH in one another. Faith, Hope, Loyalty and Love--what every relationship needs. Oh yeah, and of course, the PASSION is there as well. Worth moving heaven and earth for the chance to be together. They have every confidence in one another and their commitment to each other. They are now the best versions of themselves INDIVIDUALLY because of their love for one another. LOVE THIS!!
(And we see VinCat compared to the other relationships this season, especially Gabe. Gabe may SAY that he loves Cat, but he doesn't hesitate to hurt her if it will get him closer to his own goals and urges. Gabe just wants the win, no matter the cost. So Gabe's Actions certainly don't meet his supposed words of "love." Gabe is certainly not willing to sacrifice anything himself.) Gabe's Hatred and quest for Revenge just start him on the downward spiral towards insanity, whether he is a beast or not.

Got to go get out of this empty office building now (it really IS that creepy after dark). But VinCat re-watch CERTAINLY worth the sacrifice!
They really are just precious in this episode. No other word for it. (Well, other than totally hot, passionate, drool-worthy, sweet, loving--yeah you get my point.)
This episode really gets me fired up for Season 3. You see that VinCat really handles crisis well in this episode. They may quibble later on in "Ever After" about just what kind of Normal Life they actually want, but you never doubt again that they want to be together. And I LOVE that Vincent is the one in 218 to tell Cat that their love is worth the risk of taking the FBI's proposal in order to have a chance at being together, despite the inherent danger.
The Vincent we have seen before now, especially at the beginning of Season 2, could not access his emotions appropriately. And believed that they were his weakness and unnecessary to his missions. Now, Vincent FULLY sees Cat and the emotions and love that he has for her as the Defining Force behind his being the type of man that he really wants to be. That does things for the right reasons, in the right way. To help save others. And in saving others and his beloved, he has finally been able to Save Himself, the thing he couldn't do earlier this season. And Cat completely responds to this Vincent, and she is willing to sacrifice anything for him, without resentment, because he returns her love for him.

And one more thing after now having read all the comments. One of the things I absolutely loved about this episode was the writing and the delivery by jay and Kristin. We had scenes (like the mirror scene for example and the bliss scene) where u smiled and shed a tear at the same time. Now that is what I call good writing. Usually with batb EPs I like them more after a rewatch. I loved this one as soon as I watched it. It was just pure perfection from start to finish.

Hands down the best episode of season 2. Loved it from the first watch, and loved it even more after each re-watch. The jail talk must be the scene I have watched most this season. Absolutely touching and beautiful. This episode embodies everything I love about BatB.

ok this is my best episode in s2 and probably my favorite ep in the whole serie till now i adore most of season 1 episodes but i appreciate this episode more because it came after a very long suffering and disappointment during season 2 ! it reminded me about what i love in this show ? why i watch it in the first place ? and keep watching and was patient with it even when things got tough and the darkness seems endless it's enough that it had a lot of the best romantic line in the TV series ever :flirty:and one of the most romantic scene i have ever seen (behind glass scene ) it was amazing how you could make a romantic scene without even touching we finally have our beloved vincat better than ever them against the world season 1 theme that i adore and gave season 2 chance after chance because of it and we have all the characters finally acting like themselves or for some of them like the best version of themselves ? i meant Tess here she was finally bearable for me when she finally got a life ?! or a happy normal relationship as she describe it ! although i still think putting her with JT was because they didn't want to spend money on casting new two actors to play the love interest for both lol and beside the the way they look or her too hot for him i think JT deserve better but its ok at lest now she has her own good story line comparing to being in a relation with her married boss or being Gabe's cheerly leader and lives on her best friend messed up love life because she didn't have one of her own ! and by the end of the ep we have more benefit too ? Gabe also finally revealed his true face ! no more acting or pretending and he didn't have the beastly DNA to blame for his sins this time ! actually it always confused me why he ever thought of himself as a good person in the first place ? i mean all other beasts have references to what they were as human before being beasts except for Gabe ! he was a beast since childhood so he didn't have any reference about his real character , so the whole time he used to blame the beast i was saying : don't trick yourself , that is the real you but you just never have the chance to know that ! and by the end of the season i turned out to be right ? he selfishly hurt and even killed innocent people for his own agenda with no regret at all ! he even choose to be a beast again to have the power to do his agenda ! anyway i don't have a lot to say because when i am happy and in awe like i am with this episode i hardly talk ! i just want to say thank you for your all precious reviews and the lovely memories you bring with the rewatching

I can only repeat what you all have said, this is one of the most beautiful episodes of the season. I love it from beginning to end. All their scene, but the Vincat's scene in prison is one of my favorites, so very well played by Kristin and Jay, heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time.
