I also see March as being a definite possibility. After all, new Winter shows will start in January and probably have new episodes through February, which used to be one of those "sweeps" periods looked at by Nielsen ratings. Which usually means that March is a "dead" month with mostly episode repeats. HOWEVER, one of the reasons that March is such a "dead" time for new episodes is the whole "March Madness" thing in basketball in the US. So BATB would be going up against some seriously major sporting events in basketball. And we desperately need a time when we can actually get a chance to get viewers. I mean, right now, if BATB were in its regular timeslot, it would face even sci-fi tv competition as well as some of the biggest rated shows on television. April and May are usually full of new (and exciting, leading up to season finale cliffhangers) episodes for almost all shows. So that is the time that people basically tune in to known big shows. Which brings us to June again.
And with the CW doing full season orders for some of the early new shows, it means there is even less time to work with than expected. They still have to work in those other new shows that haven't started yet. So it really may well be June before we are back on the air. If given an actual decent timeslot AND some advertising, I can see us having our best chance then. But if we don't air until June, I seriously worry about any chance of a Season 4.
So I am also hoping for a March airing. BUT only if we get a decent timeslot and advertising. Because if it comes back on television at the worst possible time against shows that have already been used to winning their timeslots and having dedicated viewers, we end up losing in the long-run. I am for losing the battle (getting the show back early) IF it means winning the war (keeping the show on the air for an additional season due to airing later and doing better in the ratings as a result).

Sorry, i do not understand of US tv schedule, but I just wish the best for the show. If june is a good month, great for me. But, do you see how CW would renew the show if it does not air before upfronts? Do you think CW will do some promotion for the show before it airs? Or do you think CW won't t spend money in publicity for the show? Do you think if we do not have chance they would have told us it was the final season? Oh.... So many questions in imy head! O_oPlease, give me your opinios...

O_oPlease, give me your opinios... ok chances of renewal (me being honest) are as we know slim regardless of when we air however, us airing in june imo gives us no chance of it not being a final season the cw put us in summer last year. but they dont have summer programming and spending money for a high budget show in summer is just not feasible hence i dont see us as being a summer show unless we get huge budget cuts if we air in march and a) the two midseason show completely flop b)jane continuous to get 0.4 or less c) reign which has gone up suddenly falls d) we continue to get 0.3 and do not fall further, there is i think a small chance we will get renewed. but if we are scheduled for june from now it probably means they have definitely made a final decision about the fate of the show also regarding ratings whenever we aired last year (fall, midseason, summer) our ratings were very steady... so not sure starting in june where there is less competition will give us a better chance than if we start in march say especially considering that yes there is less ocmpetition in june but also fewer people watch tv in june... anyway i am definitely no network or ratings expert in any way of form - these are just initial thoughts i have and so really dont mean anything

I missed that. Because I get why, for example a show like The Mentalist would get a 13 epi order with a slim chance of renewal (the two main characters are finally an item and the network wants to get the fans some sort of a closure BUT it's clear it's the last season). What was CW's reason for renewing our show for 13 episodes? I am awfully late to the game, I know, but I keep asking myself why renewing when chances for another season are slim. Most of the shows that got a 13 epi order know for sure it's their final season and have know for a while (The Mentalist, Glee etc.) and most of these shows have really run their course. No offense to the fans. Beauty and the Beast however, I am baffled how little potential CW recognizes in the show, given the huge fanbase and all the awards the show has recieved.

I mean, I remember Friday Night Lights and how nobody ever watched that show in spite of the fact it is possibly one of the best written Tv shows in the history of TV. NBC saw that, that is why it was on year after year despite the low ratings. I get how ratings are extremely important for a network like CW but maybe they should look left and right first and see that there are a couple of other TV shows out there that other networks turn blind eye over simply because they matter (Nashville?) and have a huge following. I am right there with you bathing in the Nile.

I think if we wouldn't have a chance they would have said: It's the last season.

The way I look at it, our chances of renewal are just as good as any of the so so rated shows on the CW. Yes the ratings for S2 were bad. Chances were very slim for renewal, but we were renewed. That was then.
But, now is now.
I believe things are now back to a clean slate for S3. So it's very premature to say chances are slim or this is it, because it hasn't even aired yet. It all depends on how it performs. I firmly feel if the CW gives it some half way decent promotion, puts it on a better night than Mondays, and doesn't let ShowCase air it in Canada before it airs on the CW, it will have just as good a chance at renewal as any other show on the CW. It will have an advantage over the brand new shows in that the CW would like to get it to syndication and it has been proven to be popular overseas.

Not sure if this is the right thread for my question, but here goes anyway. Did CA not do her usual Q&A on Twitter yesterday? Did I somehow miss any and all postings from a Q&A from yesterday??
