That's exciting news with the renewals! Too bad batb wasn't there yet...it better will! How does the decision making come about? Is it like in an office with something number business people talking about ratings, etc? Do people from the batb show have a say on why it should continue e.g. writers giving a synopsis on season 2, what the theme will be and so on...Do people from the show have an opportunity to state their case if the rating was borderline? Or do the CW people, just come up with the decision themselves, send it by mail to them or just announced through the media? And where do they announce it? lol should get a batb rally protest up there- if fans knew, where, when Man that sounds crazy lol

Interesting thought. Being a South African we are known for our radical protests. Lol I can already see beasties toy toying( SA phrase for chanting) in the protest rally singing Viva! BATB Viva ! Amandla ! Awhetu ! But this would be very radical ! Lol

With the early renewal, it sounds like some have already been done!! But right now talk is mainly going to be on the new pilots and possible schedules for next Fall. There may be a little talk about Cult's premiere. BTW, for those in the US (not sure if Hulu is available for those outside of US), you can watch Cult now. Don't have to wait until its premiere. I have no interest in Cult, but I'm going to watch it to see what I think based on a renew/cancel basis. I saw someone posted this in the comments of TVbythenumbers, found it interesting... Hod :44 episodes to syndication avg 0.56 BatB: 66 episodes to syndication avg 0.68 TCD: 75 episodes to syndication avg 0.58 I did factor in syndication when looking at HOD as the renewal over TCD, but seeing these...yeah, bye-bye TCD. I will be very surprised if it gets a renewal. With only 13 episodes in, HOD is just the better choice for the CW. My prediction remains the same... and it's a pretty safe bet too considering most mid-season shows do not survive. I saw someone suggested that TCD would return next season as a midseason show again...but based on all the Pilots ordered, nope. Don't think so. Not saying it isn't possible, but the Pilots they ordered would have to really, really suck. Renewed: Nikita, HOD, & BATB Cancelled: TCD, 90210 Too Early To Call: Cult

Speaking of TCD...their ratings took a huge dive after the series highs last week... tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2013/02/12/monday-final-ratings-2-broke-girls-the-carrie-diaries-deception-adjusted-down/169145/CW The Carrie Diaries 0.5 / 1.20 M viewers And 90210 is just awful and going down further and further...I don't even think they will get a goodbye season like GG did. So I agree with you that it will just get outright cancelled. CW 90210 0.3 / 0.66

I have to agree. I can't imagine why the CW would give them more episodes. I also think TCD may be in trouble here, back to .5 That said, I would still like BATB to stay at .7 or above for the rest of the season. I think when the relationship picks up and the action gets more dangerous for Catherine and Vincent, viewers that have taken a break may return. I just love this show, it is so darn fun!! I do think the fact that the mythology is not complex also plays in its favor. You could start watching it now and be onboard. I am going to continue to post comments on articles and boards to try and recruit more viewers!!

I want to note that this is my CURRENT prediction. My prediction can change. This is based on BATB getting 0.7 consistently for the rest of the Season and if it does have an "off" week that week is no lower than a 0.6. Also it should be noted that in cancellation chances, I currently have HOD above BATB. BUT all the Pilots are sci-fi or fantasy, so the CW is going to most likely want to save BATB for that reason to pair it with a new show. This is how the shows currently rank (imo) for renewal... 1. Nikita 2. HOD 3. BATB 4. TCD 5. 90210 CW will be renewing 3-4 additional shows based on whether they go with 2-3 new shows for Fall. I'm thinking they will renew 3 shows and pickup 3 new shows. I also think that Nikita will get a full order (so they reach syndication). I think HOD will most likely also get a full season order, but it could just get an initial 13... I think BATB, at this point, will probably only get a 13 episode order. BUT if any shows get 13 episode orders, remember that they can get the full season if the numbers are good. This is my schedule prediction for next Fall on the CW... MONDAY 8pm - Hart of Dixie 9pm - (New Show) TUESDAY 8pm - (New Show) 9pm - Beauty & the Beast WEDNESDAY 8pm - Arrow 9pm - Supernatural THURSDAY 8pm - The Vampire Diaries 9pm - (New Show) FRIDAY 8pm - Nikita 9pm - (Repeats) Since SPN & Arrow are performing so well together, I don't see them splitting them apart. Same for TVD. Mark Pedowitz's recent comments in the renewal press release seem to support that the shows will be staying where they are. So my prediction seems to be spot-on then... TCD is a goner. Sorry to any BATB fans that watch TCD. Enjoy it while it lasts. BATB definitely needs to keep at 0.7, I agree. Keep on spreading the word! It may be safe right now, but that could easily change. Also we need to get that 0.7 back this week!!

oh this isn't good.... but I've read that the demo ratings in general decreased 6% compared to last thursday, probably because of V-Day... let's hope for next week...

Crap, I hope it adjusts up. We better start hitting .7s and .8s without fail. I am going to double my viewing on the cwtv.com. I have read that DVRs only count for the Neilson families. Is that true? If in doubt I will use computer.

I do think ratings will pick up when they get these two together. People got interested after the pretty and romantic Bridesmaid Up. The writers choose to take a detour--fine --but I think they lost a little momentum. I am hoping when the romance picks up so will the ratings.
I am going to stay positive here. I know if I read about a show and all the fans were worried about cancellation I probably wouldn't bother to watch. Make sure and buy the itunes!! That counts.

Last night was Valentine's. Frankly it's not too big of a surprise that the ratings went down. People are going to go out, they have reservations, etc, etc.

I just read this: "freshman Beauty and the Beast (#5: 1.1/ 2), which slipped by 21 percent from failed year-ago time period occupant The Secret Circle (1.4/ 2 on 2/16/12)" - Spoiler TV
so that comparison isn't in our favour, we really need better ratings from now on.

Very true, I was reading that ratings go down -6% for Vday. Last week BATB got 1.48-if you subtract 6% you get 1.39. We got 1.41. TVD got 2.5 last week-if you subtract 6% you get 2.35 they got 2.31 falling below the Vday -6%. I am feeling better now. We have our work cut out for us. Itunes, watch online repeatedly and talk it up!!
