Let's say Netflix limited your BATB viewing pleasure to 10 - 15 episodes. Which ones would you pick and why?

There are scenes in every episode that I like to re-watch. However, if I could only watch 10 full episodes, these are the ones I'd pick (in no particular order): HEART OF DARKNESS: It was heartbreaking and romantic. Evan broke my heart, as simple as that. I loved the subway scene with Vincent and Cat--the dialogue, the music and their togetherness. KIDNAPPED: The sizzle and chemistry during the kidnapped scenes on the houseboat were fabulous! Enough said. LIAR, LIAR: I loved the tension in the dance scene and how the power switched to Cat. The song was wonderful, too. Vincent started to get his memories back. The end scene on the fire escape was emotional and so good. ANCESTORS: I loved that Vincent was jealous when he saw Cat in the bar. The exchanges between the two at the Russian Embassy were great! CATCH ME IF YOU CAN: One of my favorite scenes in the whole series is when Vincent and Cat are stuck in the overturned car. I love the last scene when Cat tells Vincent she's with Gabe and the aftermath. Great song playing. ABOUT LAST NIGHT: Really love the opening and subsequent split scenes between Tess and Cat, Vincent and JT. The masquerade ball scenes between Vincent and Cat are wonderful ("Why is she so beautiful?"). The reunion of Vincat is long overdue! PRIMAL FEAR: Loved the humor and the scenes with Vincent and JT. HEART OF THE MATTER: A fun change of pace with the focus on Vincat's relationship. I loved the freezer scene. IT'S A WONDERFUL BEAST: Loved this version of "It's A Wonderful Life." It was great to see some past characters as Vincent works his way back to Cat. LOVE IS A BATTLEFIELD: I loved that we saw how miserable Vincent was without Cat. The Vincat scene in the tent at the party was fun. Kristin's laugh in the last scene was great!

I suspect many would go for more of the S1 classics, but I like that you've got some eps from every season and amazingly only one ep from S1.

I liked season 2 a lot, which I know isn't popular opinion. I should have included Insatiable somewhere on there.

@pinkdaisies - I liked S2 a lot too and glad to see another Ancestors fan. The Mr & Mrs Smith vibe and sexual tension in that episode was off the charts. But there are others who hate that episode, because they feel VinCat are too mean to each other.

My 10 favourite episode are-1. Pilot. VinCat connection was felt by since the first episode. The end scene was the reason I started watching the show. 2. Basic Instinct. The way Vincent was willing to turn himself because Cat was afraid of him and how wanted to save him even if she had doubt about him. It was clear that they had started falling for each other. 3. Saturn returns. The whole episode. There was so many good moments. 4.Till death. Loved how Vincent wasn't a bit sad that Tori died. He finally relised he loved Cat. 5.About last night. How Vincent was confident that he and Cathrine belong together. Finally VinCat was back. 6. Primal fear. Whole episode was so funny and Vincent was amazing. 7. Heart of matter. Loved how they finally acknowledged the fact that Cathrine could be resenting V for having to always save him. I enjoyed s3 very much. If others had listen to Cat easily than Cat wouldn't have to act little crazy. 8.Chasing ghost. The entire episode was amazing. Cat emotional outbrust and Heather was so good in the episode. 9. It's a wonerful beast. Loved how no matter what happen they will always need each other. Evan and Bob return was good too. 10. The geta way. The way they realised that nomal is gone was heart breaking. That good bye in end is my favourite moment of VinCat in s4.

Wish other beasties would share their top ten episodes I agree. It's awfully quiet around here. I hope new Beasties will find their way here so things pick up.

SORRY, been busy with court cases lately, but tomorrow SHOULD be a slower day. I will use tonight to really really try to pin down my quinultimate favorites.
While I absolutely LOVE KK's performance in "Chasing Ghosts," (SERIOUSLY, that girl should have gotten an Emmy for that episode alone.) I can already definitively say that NOTHING from S3 and S4 will make my top 10 list. So, that means I have the first two seasons to consider.
(And, hey, BEASTIEBOY, I didn't just absolutely ABHOR AND HATE "Ancestors" because VinCat were "mean" to each other. The writers were explicit in making sure we were aware of what would happen if anyone got caught in the Embassy alive. So Vincent leaving Cat alone, with guards and people coming, was absolutely more than just being "mean" to her. He was fine with leaving her alone to DIE at that point. And that will NEVER be okay with me. (And most likely, Cat would not have been killed but sold into bondage, so Vincent's actions. . . . STILL haven't forgiven that.)
And since Vincent HAD the gem at that point, its effects should have made him at least be able to PRETEND to be human. Just because you are JEALOUS does not give you the right to leave your ex-girlfriend to die or worse. Yep, STILL not over "Ancestors."
Cat, as always, remained the better person. There, I said it. If Arwenfan discovers this comment, I'm sure I will hear about it. But while Cat might have been snippy with Vincent, she clearly WILL NOT shoot Vincent over the gem. She shot him previously to save a PERSON. But she will let him go over property. That is better than Vincent treats her in this episode. AND he never even stopped to consider that Cat might have had a REASON for doing what she did at the bar. And even when he hears it at the Embassy, he still acts and does what he does.
Nope, still not over "Ancestors." Granted, I should probably TRY to do a rewatch at some point to just see if I have a better take of it. But it is TOO SOON, I say!
Well, I shall go home now, eat dinner, and ponder my BATB list possibilities before tuning in to "The Blacklist." While that show can't hold a candle to BATB, it really is all I have now on television currently. Sigh. (I HAD just been doing a "FRINGE" rewatch over the previous weekend in order to compare successful multi-season reboots and couple shipping with BATB. I really miss "Fringe" as well, but at least there are more episodes to rewatch than we have for BATB.)

It's hard to narrow it down to 10, I know. I never thought about what that meant when Vincent just left Cat behind after getting the gem. I was too distracted by the fact he was blurring while he was possessing it. There were some inconsistencies with the gem in several episodes.

Actually, there are some episodes which just HAVE to make my Top 10 without even having to think about it.
"The Pilot" --The VinCat chemistry was just so powerful from the get-go. The way Cat just fugues out on Vincent's photo and doesn't readily hear that her name is being yelled by Joe. THAT SUBWAY scene, where Vincent rescues Cat, and she LOOKS at him the way she does. And that scene back at the warehouse (actually, both of them---it is so wonderful to see the Cat that suspiciously questions Vincent BEFORE she knows he is the "beast" that saved her YET she STILL trusts him enough to not reveal him to Tess. Then THAT scene when she DOES know who he is and hears about his past. BEAUTIFUL.)..STILL gets me every TIME I rewatch the episode. AND THE PERFECT SONG SELECTIONS THROUGHOUT THIS EPISODE! You have "Calling All Angels" by Train, "Midnight City" by M83, and Snow Patrol's "The Weight of Love."
"AMP" --Seriously, that ending scene. And The Pierces "We Are Stars" that plays in the background. I mean EVERYTHING is perfect. From the actual scene to what preceeds it. The way Cat so lovingly looks at Vincent and lets him know she trusts him. With her heart and body. Completely. And the effect it has on Vincent. Just WOW. I could go on and on about the many wonderful scenes throughout this episode that show that our favorite couple are in love and just so utterly completely smitten with one another!
"Heart of Darkness" --This episode had even MORE potential, since Evan hinted at what was found in Vanessa's file. Certainly more than I think we ever got, since a new head decided on a completely different direction for S2. So I will always wonder "what might have been" had be gotten to stick with the Muirfield thing and what Vincent and Evan both knew. But Evan's death was SO shocking, and it set the pattern for what ALWAYS happened with any potential love-interest for Vincent or Catherine--they must die it they can't get with the Beauty or the Beast. Which was a SHAME in my mind, since there was so much other potential for these characters. But this episode confirms that Evan really DID love Cat, AND that he was willing to make the ultimate sacrifice, for Cat to be with someone else. Beautiful. And again, a SUBWAY SCENE. What Season 1 could do in and around a subway station!!!!!
"About Last Night" --I have literally written HOW many commentaries on past threads about how much I love this episode. I love Cat realizing how much she loves Vincent ALL over again. And for the reasons she originally fell in love with him---because he is willing to sacrifice so much to save others. And how he recognizes what losing Cat actually did to him and cost him. (And KK and Jay looking so absolutely PERFECT didn't hurt anything either!) And loved the little bits of humor in the episode that we got, particularly Vincent and Gabe practically descending into being little boys on the playground fighting for the girl ("I was going to say 7!" TeeHeeHee!). And yep, as so many powerful BATB episodes do, the PERFECT SONG REPLAYS in the background--"Guiding Light." Which is a reminder to "Date Night" when it originally played.
"Worth" --Because Vincent finally lets Cat know JUST how much she means to him. And the way he dug his hands in his pocket in her apartment while staring at her in the beautiful dress and trying to awkwardly find a way to make them okay again. Vincent's "little boy lost" look was used to SUCH great effect in this episode! And Cat realizing that she THOUGHT Vincent would have known how much she looked forward to every moment she could be with him. Just so romantic. Sigh. Did I really care about that artist's case? No, actually. But I liked how it was used to give VinCat a wake-up call and shove in the right direction.
"Bridesmaid Up!" --Again, all the loving VinCat moments. They didn't even HAVE to be in the scene together for that perfect "awwwww" moment---when Vincent reads through Cat's dating profile while at the warehouse with JT and realizes that Cat is REALLY talking all about HIM with her preference for fire escapes and rooftop dates!!! SO SWEET! And how he will just risk EVERYTHING to be at a wedding reception to dance with Cat. And then that absolute HEARTBREAKING moment when Vincent is afraid Cat is going to die in his arms because he literally CAN'T calm himself from his Beast-state due to seeing how fragile and close to death Cat is. Just SO MANY moments. (And again, Vincent and Cat being dressed-up so beautifully and handsomely did NOT hurt anything either!)
"Catch Me If You Can" --That ending scene alone would have me. But the rest of the episode was good in showing ALL the ways that Gabe was wrong with ALL the ways that Vincent was perfect for Cat. Especially since he was WILLING to let her go if it would make her happy. YES, he would fight with Gabe for her, but only if the signals coming from Cat remained undecided. He is prepared and resigned to let Cat go. But then she LOOKS at him with such yearning and adoration and love. And CLEARLY doesn't want to leave. She just BEGS him with her body-language to stop her from leaving. (AGAIN, KK needed an Emmy for this one. HOW someone can put SO MUCH expression and love into ONE LOOK. Seriously, there was NO WAY Vincent could possibly avoid kissing her. And once they began, they just couldn't stop. . . .) AND THE PERFECT SONG again plays in the background of the ultimate reunion scene (even if Cat later tries to deny it in the next eppy). Well, that is 7 episodes. While I loved "Insatiable"'s beginning moments, the rest of the episode is not as memorable to me. But that OPENING. . . . So it just might make the list. Hmmmm. Will have to think about it.
Oh yeah. While I LOVED THE CONCEPT of "It's a Wonderful Beast," I still wanted MORE from it. It needed to be AT LEAST a two-parter in my opinion so that we could have seen more alternate VinCat. So this episode JUST MISSES my top 10.
NOW, if we were going for TOP TEN MOMENTS from episodes, I would have A LOT more indecision. S3's opener with VinCat on the roof, waking up in bed together, scene in the kitchen and then the bathroom was WONDERFUL. As well as the final engagement scene. THOSE MOMENTS would make it into my all-important Moments from episodes list even if the rest of the episode and season didn't do much for me.
Will return tomorrow with my final choice for the LAST 3 slots on my Top 10 Episode List. I need supper since it is almost 8:00 p.m. at night and I am still at the office thinking about BATB!!!
