Hey Y'All! Looks like I came back from vacation and I was 2 episodes BATB behind. Bummer! Hope the episode is good. What ? Muirfield is back? What? ? Oh Looky, Vincent and Cat in the subway tunnels............awww.....Season 1 memories! An "invisable" Beast?? Hmmm.....Untrackable?? Wait?.....Kyle is an agent or something?? You scum. Heather don't move in with him. JT looking at pictures of Vincent and Cat and Cat and Heather. This is getting sad. Vincent and Cat running away together and JT just spilled the beans to Heather. Oh dear. Vincent exposed again with some high frequency gizmo! So many new elements to this story. The story just changed. Again, I am confused as to what is happening. I find it aggravating when the story just out of the blue changes. I know there are connections, but right now, it doesn't feel connected. It all feels so rushed. Poor Heather. That scene between Heather and Cat was beautifully sad. "BEAST HUG" Aww nice heart to heart between Tess and Vincent! Muirfield 3.0?? What? Tess snark about JT's "last mission"? What is this the Last episode. Tearing up here! Who's lab is this? So.......Muirfield developed even more enhanced, improved "Beasts". Why didn't Cat's Dad know anything about this? I mean Vincent was enhanced and was mind-wiped to kill Beasts. Was this related or is this totally a separate experiment building on the old information? Is that a new Beast stun gun?? I have to say, Tess's hair is looking fab this season. And Heather's outfits are super cute. No mercy from Homeland security/DHS. I knew this would never be the way this story would wrap. They have to go on the run or be "dead". JT gets tranq'd again. Garis (?) just got slashed. This "New" Beast is a killing machine. Another Sad scene between the characters. Tess and JT drinking at the precinct was very good, even though I am so over these two together. KYLEEEEEEEE! What did you do?? Is he in on this or what? He called that "Garis" guy right? Then he turns info in to DHS. Is he an agent for them?? He has to be. Then DHS shows up at the airport to catch Vincent and Cat. These last few episodes are just heartbreaking and depressing. Only 2 more episodes.........I am going to be so depressed and sad, I need some puppy therapy! Gee,........next episode looks even worse!

As we saw in 4.05 Cat's life would be in danger anyway both with Vincent in it or not because she was all concentrated to find the "thing" that saved her log time ago. So Vincent in a way saves Cat from herself and then in all those situations where he is involved directly or indirectly. Vincent in fact keeps safe all of them mostly because they are involved with Cat... he saved Tess at the precint in S2 the day of her birthday for example, and Cat and Vincent together saved JT from his obsession to find a cure for his friend because with Cat on his life Vincent no longer desire to free himself from the beast... it is a more complicated situation, but Tess in that convo wanted to focus the attention on how much she care to Cat despite her recent behaviour... And yes I think he is more Jay than Vincent too. Vincent saved Cat several times when it really had not a lot to do with him. Didn't he save her in S1 Anniversary from the sniper that was hired by the mob family to kill Gabe. Also he saved her twice in the pilot from people sent to kill her because she was 'poking her nose' into her mother's death. The bike messenger and the three Muirfield/FBI agents in the subway. Of course, she was looking into her mother's death because she had just met Vincent and thought he might know something but he warned her not to so it really wasn't his fault she was in danger. He also saved Tess when she fell into the storm drain in the sewer after being shot at and left for dead by the trigger-happy cops hired by Gabe in 'Partners in Crime'. JT has been saved by Vincent on too many occasions to mention and so has Cat. Vincent has also saved countless innocent bystanders from being robbed, attacked or blown-up, each time risking exposure of his beast side. Let's not forget that Vincent saved Heather twice. Once when Darius Bishop was going to shoot her in the alley and again when Ray Sheckman's brother was holding her hostage and was going to kill her in the dungeon after Gabe told him that Vincent killed Ray. Then Dom Sheckman said he was sorry but would have to kill Heather too because she was a loose end.

I am dying inside. Where is the world has Dana Landon been throughout all this. They saved her from her mentally distressed husband Sam. Shouldn't she have been keeping up with the agencies alert to know what was going or even reading the newspaper so that she would know they needed her help even before Russo or Hill got involved. When that gorgeous Agent Henry Knox got killed that should have gotten her attention. I am so mad at the writers I could spit fire!!!

The "doctor" said that they took beast formula from Muirfiled and then made an upgrade. Back in season 2, Raynolds wanted Vincent to kill other beasts, but did he finished his mission? Maybe I'm wrong, but Vincent kept on saying that he has a one last mission before getting himself out of the game. everybody thought that this last mission was a suicide mission because the last beast was in fact Vincent. Could this last beast be that beast? Or did Vincent kill all beasts Raynolds told him to kill? I don't remember

Now if they just were part of the Nielsen family, they could really help improve our ratings in the younger demo

From what I gathered from the episode, Muirfield did NOT just end with Zhao's death. It apparently stumbled on into bankruptcy or something like that. It was basically considered a "defunct" company, per Garis, where all the previously employed scientists must have jumped ship without funding, etc. from the government or other sources. But then SOMEONE bought Muirfield out and all rights to the EXISTING PATENTS AND FORMULAS and continued on with the experiments.
THAT is where I have a real problem with the writing. There are SO MANY holes with this one. Business entities don't just go "defunct." If it was a privately owned and controlled business, legal things have to happen to shut it down, including bankruptcy or something else. If the company was sold, there has to be PAPERWORK and other legal things that have to happen. JT would OF COURSE been privy to this. It makes NO SENSE that JT or Cat or someone else wouldn't have been monitoring Muirfield once Zhao died if it remained a viable company that could be sold off to the next willing buyer.
Plus, just what DID happen to those Formulas and patents that Muirfield would have undoubtedly had to have held? Ownership of such things is traceable, so the writing was just pathetic as to the whole "demise" and rebirth of Muirfield.
And the repetitive dialogue and episode feels in this one bothered me as well. It is a rush to the end, with the "new beast" having just been revealed to be in existence. I mean, it was like "Garis" was invented just to be given the Dialogue to explain Muirfield's being supposedly alive and well after all this time.
Like others, I wanted something that FEELS new. I can look to the "nuanced distinctions" and differences between the seasons, but it really felt like the same-old/same-old in this episode. Sigh.
But there are only 2 episodes left (INSERT MAJOR SOBBING AND HYSTERICS HERE), and I have enjoyed Season 4 overall. I ALSO WISH that Sherri and Jennifer had been invited in to finish the whole thing, but it is what it is. I'm just SO unexcited wtih the whole new upgraded beast thing. Been there, done that. And the government is back in as the bad guy in the form of DHS that ONLY cares about their agent being killed, rather he DESERVED IT and BROUGHT IT ON HIMSELF or not. Seems like DHS will just want an ACTIVE COVER-UP to blame Vincent for THEIR AGENT's wrong-doing. NOT like this part of the plot AT ALL!!!
But it is almost over, and I feel bad for complaining regardless. Still LOVE my BATB. But really feel the writers knew they had been cancelled and are just whimpering to the finish line. And we NOW have VinCat in custody. So AT LEAST an episode will be devoted to incarceration and what-not, leaving ONLY one episode to find and kill the new beast and reveal what will happen to VinCat in the end. That is approximately 43 minutes ONLY for this "new beast" to seemingly be found easily enough to deal with him and end the whole thing. THAT is just irritating and a rushed ending. AAAUUUGGGHHHHHHHH! I'm ticked, I tell ya!

For sure the writing feels sloppy and rushed in places. Even little things, like Cat's high school year book. Heather says it's from her sophomore year, but there's 2003 plastered on the front. We know from 205 "Reunion" that Cat graduated with the class of 2003. So what's up with that?
Anyway, I'm not bothered by those kinds of things anymore, just going with the flow and enjoying what's left of our show. I'm hoping for a really dramatic 412 & 413 to bring it all to an end. We'll see...

Suzieq ❤️ Beastie , I am with you my Beastie sister! I am dying inside. Where is the world has Dana Landon been throughout all this. They saved her from her mentally distressed husband Sam. So I don't think she's connected anymore. BeastieBoy all respect to your wife but I always love your true support of this show and its characters. I get the logistics of the guise of authority but where is her personal appreciation and loyalty! I personally rise above the protocol in terms of my connection for what is right and for loyalty. I know that this is a television show which leads me to think above what may be rational. Dana Landon owes Vincent and Catherine which goes outside of protocol and procedural boundaries. Sorry but I would have written this progressive ending differently. Maybe I am too passionate but I have to stay honest about my feelings. This show tapped into my feelings of friendship, love, loyalty, honor and the sense of commitment to what is right. I am so sorry I am standing on a soapbox and I do realize this is a television show but darn it breach the wall writers for the sake of the storyline and diehard fans for goodness sakes!

We'll see... I wonder if that is a mistake in the writing or on the production side. Mary Arthurs left after season 3 so maybe the new props person used whatever yearbook was around. I can go along with beasts and some fantasy / scifi things, but I just like shows to be consistent within the world they establish. If Cat is shown she can take down men twice her size and security teams in helmets and bulletproof vests, don't have her be tackled by one lame female scientist. Maybe this is just the norm for shows like this. Clark's ability to function around kryptonite seemed to vary greatly as did Lana's ability to fight.
