I must really be weird. It seems like my opinion of the S2 episodes is usually opposite of the consensus here. I actually thought this episode wasn't too bad. I think a mini-makeout scene at the start of each episode where Cat/Vin take care of the exposition might work well as a standard device. It checks a couple of boxes immediately and allows to get going quickly into the larger episode story line. They seemed to have moved very quickly through the Cat-finds-out-about-daddy-and-confronts-him stage. They probably could have built some more drama into that. I guess they'll now have a weekly get-together for espresso? Some good action this episode and the fight scene at the end was awesome! Right out of his chest with everyone watching! No JT again! I still can't figure out this aspect since JT is the coolest character on the show. Maybe Austin is only contracted for a limited number of episodes? Tori looks to have good potential as a character. Maybe a little beast-on-beast action with her and Vincent in bed will be in the future? i just notced your last sentence! beast on beast action in bed? ? noooo that wont be cool, no no no lol

The producers even said at ComicCon that they under-utilized JT last year, and that they needed to use him more. So, now we get less of him? Ok. I've waited patiently now for 6 episodes for them to keep their promise, but enough is enough Bring the old Vincent/Cat/JT threesome back ASAP! And you can include Tess as well, by the way

Yeah, I certainly agree with that. The two most likeable characters on the show (JT/Tess) have had their roles minimized while the most dislike-able character on the show (Gabe) has had his role accentuated! All they have Tess doing at this point is needling Gabe about his feelings for Cat. Pleeeeeez!
Of course, maybe there's some other reason(s) we don't know about. Maybe the show is under considerable budget pressure this year and they can't afford a complete cast? I dunno. I'm sure a considerable chunk of the shows per-episode budget goes to Kristin's salary. I'm not sure what percentage, but it must be the number one line-item on the budget.

I liked the episode, but I agree with a lot of you. The magic just isn't there. I think JT being gone has a lot to do do with it. The Gabe and Tess scenes are basically the same every single week...change it up...why not have JT?! Also, I can tell that they are building up to something, but I don't know...I feel like the "purpose" of the show is so undefined right now. Last year we had one. Don't get me wrong, I am enjoying it, and look forward to finding out where they are going with this. I just feel like "something" is missing. Yup, "something" very important indeed. can even feel it every time they showed the flashbacks from S1. watching those scenes i usually went I actually felt it during the first couple episodes of S2 but seems like it's getting less and less as the series progressed. Could't really point my finger on one thing. Maybe all the little things being discussed in the new thread (things i like n dont like about s1) or am i just in denial

Maybe a little beast-on-beast action with her and Vincent in bed will be in the future? I like Tori...but no to beast on beast action. Catherine would never forgive Vincent. They've come to far to let that happen. Enjoyed last night's episode. I got a little worried with Vincent's eyes glowed as he put his arm around Tori. It's probably a sign that he can sense "beast bloodline" in Tori but he doesn't know that yet. For the preview for next week, who did Cat's dad invite to dinner? Looks like Gabe, Vincent and Cat...who's the 4th? Looks like Tori?

The "Power" episode was not well liked by most Smallville fans. But some other folks actually did like it. This was one of the episodes in Season 8 when they brought Kristin back to complete her contract requirement and close the door on the Lana character. They brought Ted Whittall back as a completely different character in the final season of Smallville.....which was kind of weird.

I was truly looking forward to the angst re Vincent and Catherine's relationship; but I haven't felt "angst" at all. There is no "longing" for each other; there is no "push/pull" or heartache or sexual tension that cannot be fulfilled (at least not since the "dance" they had together ala "Mr. & Mrs. Smith -- that was really good!).
I guess that although I like the fact that there is some type of storyline, I truly miss the show I fell in love with. I really miss the romance, VinCat working together, and the CONNECTION between our beloved characters. I would sit through the lame "procedurals" all over again to have the romance back. I know, I know, I need to continue to be patient. I just hope the wait is worth it. I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way. I didn't dislike this episode it was ok much better than last one but I feel like something is missing. It's not that every episode of season 1 was great but in pretty much all of them I felt the magic between Catherine and Vincent the way they always wanted to be with each other and couldn't for one reason or another and now they have practically all the time in the world and are more into hunting beasts than anything else. It's almost like I'm watching a different show now which makes sense as there are new writers at the helm and seems like they are trying to go for a different audience. I just hope we get some of the magic back from season 1 in the coming episodes...

push the idea that Vincent could be just like Daddy except for Cat (which had me screaming at the TV -- hello, JT Forbes?) but it seemed like they were ignoring the whole first season. This is the second time they have done that this season, just last episode it was insinuated that if not for Catherine Vincent would have become just like the other army beast (sorry his name is escaping me at the moment). If that's the case how did he survive 10 years without killing an innocent and saving people along the way. Yes JT had something to do with that but it was more so the fact that Vincent was a good person which is part of the reason Catherine fell for him in the first place...at least that's the show I watched last season...

That's all I see in that..They should have known that if the show is Beauty and The Beast it would be woman fans basically. why change that? Once again I don't want a TVD, ORIGINALS, ARROW or TOMORROW PEOPLE if I wanted a show like that I'd watch those. It's NOT my cup of tea LOL

So who do you guys think Daddy/Agent Reynolds meant when he said to Catherine ..' .... hope you won't make the same mistake your mother did & fall in love with a lost cause like your mother did'?. Did he mean himself...like Catherine's mother fell in love with him and he was a lost cause or was it her adoptive Dad? I think he meant himself, FBI'Bob seems to be a goal-orientated workaholic.
