Anyone else watch the AfterBuzzTV reviews? Alikona cracks me up with some of her comments. I enjoy watching these two talk about each episode. Agree with a lot of what they have to say, but they also get some of their facts wrong. Like they kept calling Agent Thomas, Agent Reynolds and they couldn't remember Capt. Ward's name. I did agree with their view that the show has moved too fast with the VinCat relationship being more like an old married couple and what was up with Cat wearing her flannel PJs trying to seduce Vincent? Yes, it's no wonder he fell a sleep. LOL. I've watched two of her reviews on BATB, finding them fun but not exceptional, maybe a bit light/random to my tastes, I mean sometimes her "waiting" for the comments from the public and taking one "comment" like if it's everyone thinking that...
But yeah it's fun for TV purpose, and yes it's funny to criticize Cat's outfit, I know BeastieBoy that you would love some lingerie stuff on Cat ...maybe they're right that we miss spicy romance and have entered too quickly in long-time couple daily routine...fault on 13 ep season maybe? What I disagree on, is about him falling alseep. I mean yeah I would have preferred another hot or romantic ending to that scene, and yeah we're watching a show on TV, and we want it all at the maximum. But does it not happen in real life? to be that exhausted? come on!!! I think, contrary to you, that the writers purposely chose to give a realistic image of what their life has become now that he's returned to work. It's not sexy, it's not our extraordinary Vincat, but it's life...

You do know I'm just goofing around and having fun with my comments, right? I loved the scene exactly the way it was. Given what the writers had in mind, Cat's outfit was perfect. From the writers' perspective if they had dressed Cat too seductively it would have been even harder for viewers to accept, i.e. Dave's comments. But talking about the scene as in real life, Cat had a special evening planned, she had set the mood with candles and wine, but she was so sweet with her kisses that it lullabied Vincent to sleep. Vincent was too tired to notice the candles and wine, he only noticed the morning after. So if Cat had dressed differently, that would have gotten his attention from the get go. Just sayin...

Yeah I know you're one to have fun with commenting the show, I like it too Not a word I use very often "lulabbied", but yeah that's it...she had not adopted the right method to catch his exhausted attention I'm sure we'll get more occasions...and in the meantime the waiting is there, and I like to wait for a good cause

I MUST point out ---this IS BATB after all. So while I, too, would love Cat running around in something skimpy for Vincent, they are ALWAYS getting shot at. So lingerie for her, tighty-whities for him, but BOTH wear combat boots. Because THAT will be when they get SHOT at always, just when things are getting interesting for US! (And hey, have them running for the door in slo-mo like Baywatch used to do!) HeeHeeHee!!!
And Dave and you others, just so you know, if you cause me to spit out my tea in laughter one more time, I am sure my computer keyboard will up and pummel me!

Can you have longing if your couple is together or any real danger when we already know what happens at the end of the season and are getting spoilers for the next? Also I don't think it helps that between season 1 and season 2, the show has basically removed any real challenges to VinCat. They solved the sex problem in one episode, he doesn't have to hide, he can have a job, Heather knows everything, and now apparently he doesn't have to worry about beasting out unless he wants to? i agree, the writers need to get their act together... there is no real sense of danger etc... maybe we are lucky this time and they are building up to sth big...we will find out soon i guess My question is more about the VinCat situation. They are together, which is what most of the remaining fans kept saying that they wanted, but how are the writers supposed to create longing between the two when they are together? How much danger can viewers who already know spoilers about season 4 expect to feel when watching an episode in season 3? I read this on TVTropes Hooray! They got together! Finally! We've watched them Meet Cute, groaned at the arrival of the Romantic False Lead, sat through seasons upon chapters of Will They or Won't They?, shouted hurray at their Now or Never Kiss and this is the moment we've all been waiting for! And for good reason, because now...
Um, because now...
Uh.
The Romance Arc is the gift that keeps on giving. Whole fandoms have been known to run solely on the fuel of shipping vitriol for years on end. Though they won't admit it, people will continue reading through a boring scene just to see whether this guy can work up the nerve to ask out that girl over there. But, for some reason, as readily as they attach themselves to potential couples, they shrug at the successful conclusion of the romance and move onI was wondering if there were any TV couples that people thought didn't lose something post coupling? Although I watched some shows that apparently involved some major shipping -- X-Files, Alias, West Wing??? -- I wasn't aware of shipping and I had usually stopped watching by the time the couples got together.

In 201, TESS continued to actually DO HER JOB while Cat was admittedly MIA. While VinCat was worried about beast issues and the like, she went back and got the guy arrested, rather than just ignoring the gun cache as Catherine did. Cat didn't ignore all of Espinoza's guns. She's the one who GAVE the "tip" to Tess so that Tess could go and arrest him. That's why on the docks with Vincent, she knew that the new Captain would buy the gas explosion story because she already knew that Tess was going to be named Capt. thanks to her giving Tess the Espinoza arrest.

Actor, writers, producers, directors, costumer all have some part in what the character wears. Of that group, I think the costumer may have the least clout. In her video interview, Nina said that Catherine Ashton really wanted her to wear a dress at Heather's bridal shower in Fake Date but Nina hates wearing dresses so in that episode, Tess is wearing pants at the shower. KK or maybe be the writers think that Cat wouldn't feel the need to dress in something revealing in order to have a romantic evening with Vincent. If after two weeks living together what would it say about VinCat's relationship if Cat thought she had to dress in something special. I think the set up was that she wasn't expecting him to come home that exhausted. However she might consider that Vincent isn't used to actually working after so many years of hiding in a warehouse and regular work hours would probably be too much for him and doctors hours even more so.

Maybe KK is not that into sexy night dresses but I think that authors could have choosen something more feminine, at least probably poor Vincent will be awake enough for a little cute

OK so I have a couple of questions about some things that totally left me feeling puzzled and scratching my head. When the boathouse explodes, and afterwards Catherine is waiting on the dock while Vincent is tying up the rowboat(?), and they're discussing that Bob and Carol have gotten away, etc. they hear the sound of police sirens. So my questions are the following: 1) Where the heck did that boat come from?? I know you have to suspend belief for tv, and generally I do, especially given the fact that I love Sci-Fi shows, but c'mon! Your houseboat has just been blown to bits, and you mean to tell me, that your small boat which was probably parked next to your houseboat, or in a close proximity nearby, wasn't also sent sky high as well?? 2) Why was it deemed not a good idea for Catherine to have been at the scene with Vincent?? This puzzles me even greater than the small boat! They're an engaged couple.. it's not like Catherine wouldn't have been spending some nights at his place and vice versa. I mean I get that she knew Tess would totally cover for them, with going with a gas line cause for explosion, but still.... I don't get it. Was it due to the fact that Cat is a cop?? Would it have looked suspicious when the cause was deemed a gas line explosion, that perhaps she would have had influence over what the final decision of the cause?? This leads me to even more questions, but as it is just a tv show, maybe I better follow Elsa's advice and just "Let it Go"!! ( Sorry for the reference, but this is what happens when you work with school age kids, and you hear the song on a regular basis!)

Glad to be of entertainment value, but even though my comments had some smilies attached, my comment "who writes this stuff?" was fairly serious. As was my comment regarding getting the job done. :) Pippin has stated it much better than I bothered to. "If after two weeks living together what would it say about VinCat's relationship if Cat thought she had to dress in something special." Exactly. The guy falling asleep scene is highly cliche'd and has been thrown in for cheap laughter in numerous TV shows and movies. (It was here too.) Not that I've followed that many TV shows, but I've never seen a TV show invoke more rationalization from fans than this one. It's still a fun show to watch, with a decent hook, but every time you get the sense the writers are starting to get on course, some silly scene or plot leap or eye-rolling situation is thrown in which unintentionally hits the reset button. Bob and Carol, as it turns out, are super-human marksmen capable of nearly impossible physics...... :) Uh, okay, wow.

I guess you don't follow many shows like you said, because trust me, fan rationalization is par for the course. It happens all the time with tv shows and fans. BATB is not really unique in that respect.

Oh yeah, I understand. And I'm not saying that I don't do it too...in this case. It's a circular thing. You have to rationalize otherwise you wouldn't be a fan. :) And then you rationalize the rationalizing. :)

I can't really think of any good answers for these. 1) Maybe he borrowed/stole the boat from somewhere close by? 2) This didn't really make sense to me either. Just seemed like V didn't want Cat to be in any more trouble, but there's no explanation I can think of since she was already involved investigating the shooting of Agent Thomas. If anyone should be in trouble it's Capt Ward for not cross checking their credentials with DHS. Since we're on the topic of analyzing the houseboat scene, I'll add one more thing that didn't make sense. 3) The C4 explosives are placed at the base of the houseboat, but when it explodes, the second floor explodes first. (Hmmm, must be that "gas line". LOL.)

So many things just don't make sense about that darn house boat! 1st on my list: when Cat mentioned that V was going to sell it, my first thought was...he owned it? How? I'm assuming that after he was kidnapped in the end of season 1, Daddy Reynolds set him up with the house boat. However, it wouldn't have been in Vincent's name, or Cat/JT would have found him sooner. Or, maybe it was Daddy Reynolds', and after he got arrested he "gifted" it to Vincent? I doubt it. Ah well, it is gone now!
