Mmm, so they dug up the storyline from S1 when Catherine thought that she was pregnant. Maybe THIS time she should check with her doctor about the kind of 'pill' she is taking - it may not be 'beast-proof'.

BBATB:
You do realize that you now have me falling down laughing, imagining "beast sperm" swimming around! And wondering if they create beast-proof contraceptives?
But it DOES bring up an interesting issue--Liam was supposedly abandoned at birth due to being a beast, so apparently beast traits don't just emerge in adolescence. But it was never clear or not if just Liam's father abandoned him because the mother had died in childbirth. Because if beast babies really start out with glowing eyes and claws, then Catherine WOULD have the whole pregnancy/childbirth thing to worry about.
But I REALLY don't think BATB would go there. Again, this will probably turn out to be another "false alarm," even though this is the last season. They just don't have time to have bad guys and research into beast-babies as well. You'll need Cat running around protecting Vincent or hiding or fighting, which she can't do with a little beasty in the oven, PARTICULARLY this early in the season. If this was episode 410, maybe.
(I would still LOVE a flash-forward at the end to see VinCat happily married surrounded by little beasties. However, after "Castle" made such a mess of that kind of ending, I seriously doubt anyone else goes there again.)

But I am afraid that it might be a false alarm and I agree with the reasons you yourself are listing above: it is way too early in the season and would side-track VinCat from the things that are going to be happening in the next episodes. Since you and I are already thoroughly SPOILED, you know what I am talking about. Nuff said! Oh, what happened with Castle?

BBATB:
The "behind the scenes" drama all came out at "Castle." The leads couldn't stand each other so much that they wouldn't even talk to each other on set, and scenes had to be created where there leads didn't come into contact with one another, when they are supposed to be in love and married. (Supposedly, they even sent the leads to couples therapy to just get them to TRY to get through the season.) So when they decided to try to get renewed for S9, they went ahead and fired Stana Katic, who is Beckett. So having nothing to lose, she let fans know she wouldn't be around for S9 and the rest came out. They were going to end S8 with Beckett being killed off. And the whole LokSat plot from this season and the other, yes REPETITIVE, things that they did regarding the big-bads/conspriacy after Beckett, lost them SO much in the ratings. (While this season's ratings HAD stabilized AFTER they got the couple back together, ABC apparently pulled out from the S9 negotiations after all the bad press about a S9 of Castle without Beckett, when the COUPLE is the core of the show.)
So they filmed a second "final" scene that would be shown on "Castle" if it WAS the last season. ABC went on and cancelled the show, so you have a bad season finale that was actually the worst, ratings-wise, in its history. And looked like an edit cutting room floor nightmare. You get Castle AND Beckett shot at the end, holding onto one another as they bleed out. THEN it cuts to "7 years Later" and we see Castle and Beckett laughing and happy in their apartment with their three children. Nothing has been updated, including their looks or apartment, to show that seven years have past other than the kids running around.
So "Castle" got slammed all the way around. By viewers, by critics, by everyone. For how things went on and off set, etc. The points they made could have come straight out of things said about our show. Bad/extreme changes made from season to season, plots to seemingly keep the characters apart that angered and drove away fans, etc. You name it, it sounds like our same issues. They tried to cram the ending (and provide justification) for the ridiculous LokSat plot, still have the surprise shootings, then have 2 seconds for the flash forward ending. Fans feel cheated all the way around.
And YES, given BATB's HISTORY under Brad Kern, PARTICULARLY post Sherri/Jenn, I could see BATB getting a roughly cut-up finale, where it comes down to the final minute of explosions and jeopardy, only to then have a couple seconds to see VinCat survived and had little Beasties. At least going into S4, however, the reality was that cancellation was likely, so we hopefully get a MUCH more resolved and better ending then Castle!

Agree with the both of you....I do want that flash forward to France at the seasons end to include Cat finding out she's really pregnant or to see little beast babies....gosh, I hate talking about the end

Jefferen,
Agreed. I hate the very talk of "the end." But I would still rather they plan it through and give us a VinCat Happily Ever After. Isn't that how fairytales SHOULD end?
And hey, if someone else picked it up, there would still be multiple storylines possibilities, particularly if they started from a flash-forward point.
I will be interested to see what S4 is looking like by 404 in the season. Judging from the title, we are already at a breaking point. So life-threatening changes, risks, etc. Just hope it isn't exactly mirroring the S3 formula by this point. Time will tell.

I changed the font color on a post just to mask a spoiler from future episode. The spoilers in the episode spoiler section should stick to that episode since there are people like BeastieBoy trying to stay spoiler free but might read this thread after an episode airs. We can speculate freely in the sensitive section without worrying about dropping something from the leaked stuff or upcoming episodes.

What about if she is really pregnant, but she loose the child? that will give them a real douple issue to think about: how they are supposed to beacome parents with all that happening around them that put in danger every pregnancy and that what will happen to their baby if it manage to born?

What about if she is really pregnant, but she loose the child? that will give them a real douple issue to think about: how they are supposed to beacome parents with all that happening around them that put in danger every pregnancy and that what will happen to their baby if it manage to born? Season 1 glossed over the issue, maybe they could explore the situation more deeply this time. In S1, V. wasn't happy about the possibility with his mutated DNA so this would give the writers a chance to let VinCat have a discussion about abortion and we could find out where the characters stand on that issue. Give them a weightier topic to deal with rather than lamps and TVs. But would they be able to discuss the topic without the words exposure, normal, primal, humanity. Or maybe they could find out the experiments made V. sterile or that Cat's infertile. Then they could try for a sad, poignant VinCat end scene. This episode's content rating is V
